  1. Mine doesn't work Have to wait until Monday to contact nintendo now Me sad
  2. Rather than invisible barriers, invisible checkpoints would be better. Just a way to make sure that the racer has gone past the halfway point of the track each lap. Would be a lot more difficult to circumvent.
  3. Ashley's Rainy Day Activities: Umbrella Chronicles
  4. You can also reduce that list by one, as Band Mashups and Battle of the Bands are the same game
  5. Pretty much non existent, if I remember correctly.
  6. I see what you mean and the office/lab pic pedro posted, but I can only see that as a good thing.
  7. As I said I've had mine since near Wii launch, about a year and a half, and haven't had any problems. Had the same 8 batteries powering Wii remotes and things since then too. Oh and it has a fan built in to stop any heat problems that could arise too. I was sceptical when I first saw it on sale too, but has come in handy when my wireless mouse has run out during work hours. Just stick em on charge, play Picross DS and get back to work. Unless I'm on a deadline, then it's usually, curse a lot and muddle my way through with the keyboard for 15 mins
  8. I got this charger http://www.amazon.co.uk/Energizer-Super-Charger-Adapter-Batteries/dp/B000IWU672 but it seems to be £30 now, I'm sure I didn't pay that much for it when I got it around Wii launch. Does a great job and only takes 15 mins to charge most batteries. Hunt around and I'm sure you'll be able to find it a lot cheaper.
  9. So easily done, that I found some vids of someone playing the game with a Wii-mote. One using the IR, the other using twisting motions. Having seen the videos it makes me think that 1:1 sword fighting wouldn't be so bad, but I'm quite happy to stick with pre-set motions for now.
  10. There was a PC game a long time ago, that featured 1:1 sword control with a mouse. I remember trying the demo of it, swinging the mouse around madly and chopping my own legs off. Was pretty funny at the time. Then I switched it to normal button controls and found out the game was pretty lame. I'm off the opinion that 1:1 sword fighting shouldn't be done on Wii until they have force feedback powerful enough to stop you moving your hand mid swing. And to do that they'd need some pretty powerful feedback and also a stupidly heavy controller. I expect lawsuits to come flooding in, possibly even before it's launched. EDIT:- And that PC game was Die By The Sword for anyone who was interested.
  11. Yeah 10 years is about right, Miyamoto has been trying to find a way to shoehorn in something like Mii's since the N64 days, based on what I read on the Iwata Asks interviews.
  12. THAT'S NO MOON!!! Okay maybe not star wars, but to me the bit on the left makes it look more like an orange, Orange Box maybe?
  13. This the reason FPS (and racers to some extent) are good for online, there's hardly any information needed to be transfered between players. In the case of MK Wii it's not so important that your Wii knows exactly where someone else is on the track. So your Wii can make some estimations based on other players last known position and momentum if it hasn't recieved the actual positon of a player in time. Hence you'll see someone move around eratically sometimes, it's because they're swapping between where they really are and where your Wii thinks they could be. At least that's my understanding, based on how Quakeworld worked back in the day. Which made online gaming run fine even on 56k modems, and with an acceptable ping in the realms of 100-400ms, which is a lot higher than what most people will get now-a-days. With something like brawl the assumptions your Wii can make are next to nothing.
  14. The cloud does make you faster. I'd say a similar speed boost to the invincibility star. One of the CPU passed it onto me just before the finish line, the boost in speed helped me get first. And then skrunk toad after the line
  15. Less like a B-Movie and more like a disaster movie if you ask me, which could be exactly what they're aiming for.
  16. Chances are that you don't have an ADSL Microfilter on the line with the phone attached. The easiest way to set it up is to have an microfilter for each phone you have in your home.
  17. Ah I didn't know that, so the wiimotes won't work from that distance eh?
  18. I agree with the half life series, but also mention a little know PC RPG called Anachronox. That had a brilliant story, which even saw a release on Video CD which was basically a compilation of all of the cutscenes. Here's a link to one of the cutscenes which still is one of my favorite cutscenes of any game. Also honourable mentions go to, Giants: Citizen Kubuto and Armed And Dangerous for comedic writing. And I think the story in Hostile Waters is pretty good too, although I havn't managed to get to the end of it.
  19. I had a problem with some websites not working once, turned out that if you have your MTU value on your internet connection lower than what windows expects it can cause problems. A quick dig in the registry and you can change it. I doubt this is what your problem is but it might be worth checking if your MTU value is lower than 1500 on your router/modem. Also had a problem logging onto some websites (hotmail.com, ebay.co.uk) I had to refresh some of the windows DLL's in the end. I can dig out the knowledge base article if you need it, but I think the Virus is probably your problem if I reset fixes it. EDIT:- Do you have "Hide System Files" checked on the windows explorer config?
  20. Saw a video of it earlier on IGN, looks like it could be interesting. But for now it looks like a poor mans Trackmania Nations, and considering Trackmania is free you'd have to be a very poor man. It just seems to lack the feeling you might fall off of the track, but maybe I'm wrong thats just the impression I got from the video. The Car-Fu mechanic looks like it might be interesting though.
  21. That list is mostly Q2 with a couple of third party Q3-Q4 dates thrown in at the end. So there's still some hope for the last half of this year Meanwhile theres a few games there that I'm interested in Boom Blox deBlob Monster Lab Lego Indy Star Wars: Force Unleashed We Love Golf Which if most of those come out in the next 3 months I'll be happy.
  22. I think your thinking of a game called Mafia, in that the cars were slowish and you could get pulled over for speeding too. Which kinda got annoying when you were just trying to get somewhere. But Godfather is very good, and has brilliant motion controls, which becomes apparant pretty much straight after you've strangled someone with the remote and nunchuck. And in my opinion it had some features that improved on the GTA formula, like having checkpoints mid mission so if you died or failed your didn't have to end up back at a hospital. And being able to call your driver from a payphone to have him drop you off at a safe house near to where you want to go. I agree that nintendo need to get out there to drum up some more devs to make some Wii games, but I can see why they might be a bit weary of doing that as the last time we heard about them doing that, we ended up with the Manhunt 2 fiasco.
  23. I brought a regular battery charger that fully charges in 15-20 mins, it came with 4 2500mAh batteries and I brought 4 more for about £20 in total. They don't last quite as long as decent (duracell etc) disposable, but it's come in handy for me and my girlfriends wireless mice aswell as it does AAA's too. I'd reccomend getting two more batteries than you need that way it's easy to have some charged up ready for to swap over.
  24. The Mist Very good adaption of a Stephen King novella, and even IMO improved upon the ending of the book. 8/10
