  1. Just read that preview, and I'm going to seriously consider it as I think it looks like it might be pretty good. Just depends if I can convince my girlfriend to play it with me, as I'm not sure how it'll play in the single player mode. And she's never been into RPG's.
  2. bump Found this in Asda the other day for £15, and me and my girlfriend have been loving it. Although it's annoying cause she's always beating me on the score, because she's shooting all the guys on my side of the screen. I couldn't see myself picking this up for full price or £30 and still enjoying it as much, but for this price it's more than worth it. They also had NiGHTS in there for £15 too, so may pick that up soon aswell.
  3. If it's rated in Austrailia doesn't that mean that the PAL version is finished? Or is that my wishful thinking?
  4. Great game, good for multiplayer as well as single player. Got quite far in the single player mode, but have been a bit distracted since Brawl & Okami joined my collection. Will have to get back to it once I've completed Okami
  5. - Samba de Amigo - De Blob - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ghostbusters - Mushroom Men - Sam & Max Season One - World of Goo - Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Deadly Creatures - Sonic Unleashed - Strongbads game for attractive people (Wiiware) - Monster Lab - Wario Land: Shake Dimension - Tetris (WiiWare) - Bomberman (Wiiware I think) These are the games that I think are worth keeping an eye on, I think most of these should be heading to our shores this year too. I don't think they'll be the most brilliant of games, but should be pretty decent.
  6. Looks good, like a cross between Dungeon Keeper & Pikmin. Hopefully with humour similar to Giants and Armed & Dangerous, I don't why those two games came to mind though. Been thinking of wheeling out old Dungeon Keeper lately, mainly so I can slap my minions shouting "WORK HARDER, DAMNIT!" Lol never ceased to be amusing.
  7. I think I have the GAME branded component cable, and it suits me fine. At the time it was around the same price as nintendo's offering. But the GAME one was in stock during the great component cable drought of 06. Usually, analogue signals like component will benefit from higher quality cables. With digital signal's it doesn't make much difference, unless your going long distances. I'd go with the cheaper one, if you arn't happy, try the official. We're only talking a few quid lost after all. If the delivery cost drives up the price though, I'd probably go with the more expensive one. As amazon are more likely to offer you free delivery.
  8. Na probably £249.99 I think it launched for more than that though, and saw a price drop of about £100 a few weeks after launch. Can't find anything online about it though. Ah I assumed as you were talking in pounds, you ment the price in the UK. 2700 krona is actually £225 though
  9. OBJECTION [/Pheonix Wright] The Wii came out at £180. I think people are getting confused with dollars. I think £200-£250 sounds about right, I don't think many Nintendo console have come out much above that price. Apart from the N64, which quickly dropped soon after.
  10. No european date is sept too source Can't remember seeing any news for the others though.
  11. I'm probably in the minority here but Anachronox 2 Especially as it ends on a cliffhanger, and had a really good plot. Such a good plot that it was made into a machima movie and won 3 Awards at the 2002 Machinima Film Festival.
  12. Yeah it is a shame Smash runs on a p2p system, I suppose it keeps everything fair though. If it ran on a client to server model, then people with lag would either have no chance against someone without. Or it could end up imposible to hit someone with lag and they end up winning.
  13. Yeah MMO's and most online games tend to operate slightly differently to Smash and other nintendo online games. With an MMO everyone is connected to one server, which holds all the data and sends you the appropriate stuff, chances are you pick one that is quite local to you. With Smash, you are connected directly to there Wii's where ever they are. So in a four player game, your data is going directly to all other players, and there's is comming directly to you. This means the chance of lag is seriously high regardless of your connection, for instance. I've seen some traces that to get to a uk sever still get routed around the world first. If a connection is down somewhere between you and one of the other players, then the data has to find another way around it. Not sure where I'm going with this now, but in short with the way nintendo's network works. There's not much they can do in regards to lag with smash, without seriously changing there infrastructure. I have had some lag problems when playing anyone, the best you can do is disconect and try again. With the way smash works, you are reliant on the other players having a good connection. If they don't then it slows everyone's game down.
  14. Lag has nothing to do with bandwidth though, it's speed. Best analogy I could come up with was this: Think about a motorway, if you assume the amount of lanes are the bandwidth (8Mb) and the speed of the car on the road is your ping. It doesn't make any difference how many lanes you have, if you car's going 60mph it's going to be faster than one going 30mph. Unfortunatly there's not a hell of a lot you can do about the speed of your connection, other than change providers. As the Wii doesn't display your ping or latency it's difficult to tell if it's your own connection or someone elses. Some speed test sites, have a ping rating, check some out and see what sort of ping you get. It's tricky to say whats a bad ping on those sites though, as it can depend who your connecting to whilst playing games. Usually in an FPS a ping bellow 100ms would be fine, no idea what it would be for a game like smash though.
  15. I second Godfather, as the gestures were brilliant. Garott wire, or bare hand strangulations were some of the best. I also think Mercury Meltdown did a great job, better than monkey ball & Kororinpa basically because you held the controller sideways and used two hands. Oh and Trauma Centre is another good example
  16. Playing devils advocate here, but couldn't the reason there are only few copies of Galaxy & Brawl be that they have sold well. And the reason there are loads of Ubisoft crap in the bargain bins be because they haven't sold well at all? That would be the impresion I would get from seeing the above, if a normal person (not a geek like me) saw that they might think differently. But some people must think there's a reason the Ubicrap is in the bargain bin.
  17. I use a 32" HD CRT Samsung TV, not a bad TV but does the trick. Never liked the picture from an LCD but now they've improved I might have to invest in one at some point.
  18. I see them being sold seperatly for about the same price as the nunchuck here. Most probably from day 1, as people will want two if they want to sword fight each other. I don't see the big deal about dev's not knowing about it before it was unveiled at E3, especially when it's 8 months before release. I mean how many games do we know about that are comming out after spring of next year anyway. And if it takes them longer than 8 months to incorperate this into their control scheme, then they have more pressing problems if you ask me. Besides I don't think it would be wise for any dev's to release games that completely rely on Wii MotionPlus around that time, so there work on existing control scheme's wouldn't go to waste. At least Ubisoft have 18 months before there Rabbids Motion Plus is due for Xmas 09 release anyway Maybe some games in the package won't need motion plus, I've seen mention that the waterski game doesn't need it (I've heard otherwise from Reggie though). Which would put it in a similar case to Wii Sports Boxing, which needed an extra nunchuck for multiplayer.
  19. Here's the link to the images, http://boards.ign.com/nintendo_wii_lobby/b8270/167698303/p1/?17 And one of the better one's hot linked to save some clickage.
  20. Bolded what I think are worth keeping an eye on Also I think these will/might turn out good too, - Strongbads game for attractive people Wiiware - Monster Lab And along with Warioware, Disaster and Fatal Frame, I don't think it'll be too lean a year. That is if they do turn out good, if not it might be a bit sparse but not as bad as most make out.
  21. Ah, but I would consider Sim City to be a "core" game but that didn't have an ending. : peace:
  22. Trailer for the game http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36752.html Not sure why Kiff from futurama does the voice over at the end though
  23. I don't think it would of been too off balance, most of the weight of the Wii Remote is at the bottom with the batteries. I can't see the top part of the Remote weighing that much, and that controller puts the batteries in the same place as the Wavebird. Still doesn't stop it probably being the orginal idea behind the Classic Controller.
  24. MP3, then Boom Blox, then EO Well I don't have EO but do plan to get it at somepoint when I've played through Okami & Smash.
  25. I don't think sonic heroes is bad enough to be listed twice
