  1. Has anyone else noticed Chrome acting a bit weirdly? I'm talking about tabs taking ages to load, or getting stuck loading one tab which never materialises, even after refreshing? It's happening more and more often with mine, so i disabled all my extensions and it seems to go away. I'm not entirely sure which extension is the culprit (it might be more than one, or just i have too many) but Chrome definitely sped up when i disabled Reddit Enhancement Suite and Adblock. Does anyone else have this problem? It might just be my old laptop unable to run so many extensions at once, but i'm not sure what to do. I like those extensions!
  2. I feel that this thread is just a long list of people's troubles, with no replies to anything, which is sad. However, sometimes there's not a lot you can say... Ganepark(32) - Sounds shitty indeed. Hopefully your supervisor will realise that the post-doc is being a dick and cut you some slack. In my experience most post docs are dicks; some sort of superiority complex which is unjustified. Rest assured that when you complete your Masters and start a PhD (if you do) then they can't tell you what to do anymore and you can rub it all in their face. Blade - I know quite a few people who studied law at uni and have struggled to find jobs. It really sucks. I'm not sure what the unemployment rate is for law students, but i would have thought it was relatively low? I don't know. I'm not sure why there aren't any jobs. Maybe having a year of work on your C.V. will make it will make it easier to get a second? Eenuh - Illness is bad. Get a massage off Flink, that should help. Then stick your head in a bucket of hot water and olbas oil.
  3. I know what you mean, i don't feel old enough to have experienced an person's entire career come and go..... He was excrutiatingly dull though wasn't he.
  4. I think you accidentally a word....but i'm not sure which one.
  5. Just stumbled onto it one day while looking for news about the Gamecube (i think). It was a long time ago anyway, back when i was still at school. Lurked a bit, then posted a bit (but not very much), then had a 4 or 5 years hiatus while i went to uni (i thought i was too old for it then), but curiosity got the better of me, and i came back and now i post quite regularly.
  6. Watched my new blu-ray of Kung Fu Hustle. Man, i love that film. It's just so much fun. Everything from the music (dat opening scene with the Axe Gang) to the fight choreography is amazing.
  7. Well it looks more like vomit than shit, but your point is still valid.
  8. Wait, you play Xpert11? Are you any good? Happy Birthday!
  9. But what if the tablet/powder option was just as healthy as real food? Would you ever choose to do it? To save time/money or just because you couldn't be bothered to cook something properly?

    Gambling

You say boringly safe, i say excitingly regular. Like a high fibre diet.

I suppose i could do accumulators, but the guaranteed bets are few and far between unfortunately, so i doubt i could muster enough of them up to make up an accumulator.
  12. There seems to be lots of ire towards Mcmanaman's tackle against Newcastle, but to me it seemed like he went to kick at the ball and missed. It was dangerous i suppose to go swinging in like that, but i think it was an accident...

Well you only bet what you're prepared to lose, whereas i only bet when i'm guaranteed a win. It was worth placing to win 40p that's for sure. I also have a £10 bet on Barcelona winning La Liga which should net me about 60p i think. (Should it come to pass!!!!)

Looks like my £10 bet on Man Utd to win the league (placed a couple of weeks ago) will win me a 40p profit. I won't let it go to my head.
  15. Can't remember who it was on here who recommended Rekorderlig cider, but we had some last night and it was delicious. The peach and apricot was particularly delicious.
  16. Interesting points... ...i think that the feelings are mostly controlled by chemicals in your food, so as long as you were getting everything you needed, you wouldn't start getting depression etc. Obviously if you felt really down and you needed comfort food for example, theres nothing to stop you eating that as well i suppose. The digestive system wasting away is a good point, i have no idea what would happen.....although people who have really crappy diets have normally functioning digestive systems i think, so i doubt this would be a problem. I'm sure your jaw would be just fine though Rummy. It gets enough of a workout when you're playing Halo...
  17. All three English clubs manage to avoid each other in the quarter finals of the Europa League. Not sure it matters though, as i doubt any of them will get through...Chelsea will do a Chelsea, and it doesn't help that Rubin are about 1000 miles away for the away fixture. Basel are a good team, and i don't think Tottenham will beat them. And i really don't think Newcastle have much of a chance against Benfica, unless they suddenly gain their previous good form which they seem to have lost a bit... Champions League seems to have split the Spanish/German sides nicely too, but i have no idea how those quarter finals will go (not that i know the Europa ones, i just feel those are easier to predict....)
  18. I am terrible with indecision. Sometimes it is almost crippling when i come to a choice between two things which have no discernable difference between them, and i can't make up my mind. If I can't weight up the pros and cons and see a winner, then i get stuck. It's like an off button...
  19. Well i assumed that if i were to try it, someone else would have already made it and i just bought it as a powder in bulk. So the only preparation would be mixing it with water and drinking it. Presumably the only washing up would be a glass plus a measuring jug perhaps. It would be pretty convenient on certain days to just chug a glass of it and not have to spend time eating, or looking for places that sell groceries (i'm looking at you, shops that close at 4pm on a Sunday). Like i said before, if it did catch on, and no-one ate proper meals anymore, i would miss the social aspect of eating, i.e everyone gathering round a table and chatting.
  20. I'm always a generation behind when it comes to phones, so i'm looking at the S3 as my possible next phone. The S4 looks quite cool though - but i agree with Cube, most of the features look a bit silly and gimicky. The one that looks the worst is the Eyepause thing. It would be incredibly annoying for a video to pause if you looked away from it. Can you imagine how distracting it would be?
  21. This guy comes up with a way to solve all our meal-time problems: http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36952
  22. So some guy in America has invented a diet of a powder called amusingly 'Soylent' which contains all the necessary nutrients that a human needs, and has effectively removed proper food from his diet. http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/rob-rhinehart-no-longer-requires-food He doesn't cook anymore - and saves energy on not having to cook (or presumably owning a fridge) - and doesn't have to buy groceries or worry about what to eat each day. Would anyone here try this? I would imagine it would be quite bizarre to suddenly not have to deal with food. I'd like to try it for a week or two and see what happened, but i think i'd miss the social aspects of food and proper meals. If i lived on my own, i think it would be a intriguing prospect - imagine the time you'd save!

Oh my god Accusative pronouns was my downfall. I had to cheat a couple of time because i kept failing it. Seriously it's just impossible! They all look the same and you have no idea which way round it's supposed to be! Ihr/ihn/ihm/ihre/sie/Sie Plus, there are sentences like Mag er ihr? Or some shit like that, and you're all like; Does that mean, he likes her? Or they like him? Or it likes him? I don't bloody well know. I'm never correcting another person's English online ever again for fear it might be a poor German person having to put up with some stupid weird English rules.
