  1. Finally got around to listening to the new Muse album. It's pretty good - not a complete return to form like i'd read, but it's got some bangers on it. Kill or be Killed and We are Fucking Fucked are pretty great, and You make me feel like it's Halloween is just bizarre. I'd still rate it pretty low compared to their other albums though. Maybe it needs a few repeat listens.
  2. In my mind all of the Craig films kind of blend into one. I agree about the bleakness and the Pierce Brosnan era. Granted Die Another Day may have gone too far, but Bond films should be over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek and a bit silly. I blame the Bourne films, and Austin Powers a bit. The Bond higher-ups were presented with two ends of the spectrum, and they chose to go in the Bourne direction with it.
  3. Surprised there's been no mention of No Time to Die anywhere. Has no-one else watched it?
  4. Watched the first few episodes of FMA:Brotherhood, and it's weird how much they've compressed some of the original series. Plot that i'm pretty sure took several episodes has been squeezed into one, or even just a quick scene. It does make me wonder what they're making space for though!
  5. Like HoT says, I doubt it will make a difference. The cost of living crisis means that few people are going to have spare money to spend on luxuries like consoles. The people who can afford them won't be be put off by a rise of £30.
  6. I signed up for the Funimation free trial so that I could watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Didn't work. Kept getting an error when I tried to play the first episode. So I cancelled it and pirated the series instead.
  7. What's the blue sign with "50" in it below the 120 speed limit ones, is that a minimum speed? How much do we want to bet that it doesn't sprint at this speed in the game?
  8. *Gestures at the thread title Good luck though!
  9. Console fanboys aren't the reason forums are dead. You may be too young to remember the Console Flame Wars, but the forums were very healthy back then. In fact, it could be said that console fanboyism was the very thing that was keeping them alive.
  10. You've specifically mentioned the 2 (generally agreed upon) worst films there are, which doesn't help your argument. I love the MCU films, but i've not seen Thor 2 since I saw it at the cinema when it came out. Personally I am suffering from fatigue, but mostly from the TV shows rather than the films. I still enjoy going out to the cinema to see the films a few times a year, even if the quality of some of the Phase 4 films has been a bit lower. I'm still looking forward to the new ones though. The TV shows however, haven't really lived up to their hype. I thought Loki and Wandavision were good, but the rest have been downhill from there. They all seem like filler just to have more content about certain characters, without any good storyline in place. I've always been a bit reticent about having shows that you needed to watch in order to enjoy the overarching plot though. I think main plot points should stick to the films, and the TV shows should be self-contained (albeit with cameos and references). They need to slow it down with the releases though as well, I feel like we only just finished Ms Marvel, and there's another one?!
  11. MFW I check the scores and Brentford just put four past Man Utd.
  12. I've been intending to watch this after watching the original last year. Where did you watch it? Is it on one of the streaming services?
  13. Fewer boobs does not sounds like a plus at all.
  14. You have to add a few qualifiers to get exactly what you want. Sometimes it defaults to cartoony, other times photorealistic. I tried adding 'news footage', but it didn't really help. Adding 'photorealistic' gets worse. This one is "A guinea pig storming the Bastille"
  15. Has anyone else seen the incredible things that can be done with AI now? I stumbled across the Dalle-2 subreddit, and some of the stuff it creates is astonishing. Spider-man from ancient Rome Napoleon crossing the Alps on a Harley Davidson a cybertronic bison, leds, high detail, sharp, studio, digital art Karl Marx as a Happy Meal toy Mario finds a mushroom There are a few versions available, with varying degrees of quality and strengths. Most are invite only, and most have a limited amount of runs per user to stop the servers being over-run, but they are fun to try out. Dalle-2 Midjourney Craiyon These things are going to revolutionise certain industries. Concept art can be generated with a couple of sentences. Stock photographs are basically dead. When it eventually makes the jump to 3D, it's going to make creating video game assets amazingly easy. Clearly there are the more scary aspects of it, as they get more and more difficult to discern from real photos, they could be used to generate actual fake news, which is worrying. What are your thoughts? I've just gained access to Dalle-2 after a while on a waiting list. Here's a guinea pig destroying Manhattan.

    Baby Cube

I can't imagine not hearing anything for eight and a half hours, that must have been an excruciating wait. Glad to hear it went well - all the fun things to come now!
  17. The ability to add DLC to a game is kind of a blessing and a curse for game developers. On the one hand, they can release a half finished game and add the rest of the content later as DLC. On the flip side, when they want to release a whole new game, they can get the criticism that all that content could have just been added to the old game as DLC.
  18. Rabiot sounds like a Pokémon. I can just imagine him bombing down the wing, screaming his own name.
  19. Oh I had no idea. That does explain how he got the part though...
  20. The show up until episode 10 has been very devoid of humour. This doesn't bother me all that much, since it's still a great show, but it does make me wonder whether it would fall foul of parody laws if it doesn't keep up the humour? It's a very obvious copy of Star Trek, but you are allowed to copy existing art if it's in the pursuit of parody or humour. As the show goes on, it seems to be coming less and less a parody, and more a serious sci-fi show, and it makes me wonder if the bigwigs behind Star Trek would have a lawsuit on their hands if they wanted it? Anyway, all of this is a bit moot, as episode 10 really piles on the ridiculous humour that has been lacking in the second half of the season. It's like they saved it all up for this one episode. Also, is the actor who plays Gordon trying to kickstart a music career? That's the third time he's sung a song on his guitar this season!
  21. Joins in 2012; last posted in 2014; comes back 8 years later like they were never away. I need to know more!
  22. Managed to catch up to the end of Episode 9 last night (took a while, each episode is the length of a shortish film!). This season just keeps getting better and better. Although i enjoy the slower paced episodes, they are really getting their money's worth from their CGI department as the season goes on! A 10 minute long CGI space battle and dogfighting sequence?!
