  1. It looks like the app will be renamed NES and Super NES - Nintendo Switch Online, so I think we can just keep this topic and rename it. Anyway, SNES Online is here (almost!). Put September 2020 already in your agenda for N64 Online. The first 20 games available are: Brawl Brothers Demon's Crest Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics Kirby's Dream Land 3 Star Fox Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force Super Mario Kart Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Puyo Puyo 2 Super Tennis Breath of Fire F-Zero Kirby's Dream Course Pilotwings Stunt Race FX Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts Super Mario World Super Metroid Super Soccer The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Additionally, members can purchase a wireless SNES controller which charges through USB-C for €29,99/£26,99, available "soon". Pretty happy with that list. Some classics which I played through and through back in the days, but also a couple of games I never touched. I'm up for a sarcastic-clap SNES-a-thon!
  2. So Terry it is! Wonder if they throw in SNK Heroines female Terry as alternative costume.
  3. You can always use them for Nintendo's incredible voice chat system through your mobile phone...
  4. Nope, not without an adapter of sorts. There are a bunch of USB-C to Bluetooth adapters which you can plug into the Switch's bottom (in handheld) to use BT headphones.
  5. Same here, loved the main game. I haven't started the DLC yet, but did boot up the game for the first time since finishing it and spend an hour picking up chests I missed and doing some challenges. Feels good to be back at it again.
  6. For the first time the DLC is on sale in the eShop. Normally they only discounted the Gold Edition which is bad if you already have the main game. Now however the Season Pass and Donkey Kong DLC are 40% off. Picked up the latter as I don't give too much about the Ultra Challenges. Can't wait to start it!
  7. Just wanted to wish you all a motherflippin', space-bendin' happy FEAR INOCULUM day! It's been a while since I bought an album, but I'm picking this up in the weekend.
  8. This! I also couldn't finish the jump in the NSMBU level and meant to ask about it but forgot.
  9. I know, doesn't make it less weird.
  10. It is weird that this game is vertical, you are missing so much context by not having the game in landscape. Looks dashing though! Cool to see there are new tracks like the one in Paris. And there are some things I wouldn't mind having in the main game, like costumes and character-exclusive items. Too bad this is a mobile game and not MK9.
  11. So I wanted to use an amiibo FP during our multiplayer session to get some time to grab a drink. The arena had amiibo on, but I couldn't select one in the player menu. What did I do wrong? Do I need to scan an amiibo before opening the room? Also, I need to practice more.
  12. I'm opening a room in a few minutes, Stock Battle! Edit: Password if needed is 0000
  13. Plus if your 3DS shares the same NNID as your Switch you can add funds to the latter, and it should also be available on your 3DS.
  14. So, anyone up for some Smash tonight? Around 7 or 8PM UK time?
  15. Aw, I love battle mode N-E League nights! Too bad I couldn't join yesterday.
  16. No Resident Evil Revelations also surprises me a bit! In fact only 1 of my nominations made the list! There are quite a bunch in this list I haven't played, my 3DS needs more love.
  17. I don't think I have ever posted in this thread before! But as I'm playing a lot of different stuff at the moment without a lot of focus, I feel like making a summary here to share my thoughts with you, but also for myself to have a list with how I stand on certain games and when I can complete them haha. Valkyria Chronicles - Nintendo Switch I continued playing Valkryia after a short hiatus. I'm currently in Chapter 9, and judging by the list of updates I can still do this must be around 1/3 of the game. There's much to love about this game. Graphics are charming and an original take on the cell-shaded style. The story is good (not mind-blowing), and nice to see it takes a dark turn every now and then. After all it is a game about war. I really like the mix of strategy with realtime action. Units feel a bit unbalanced though. I feel a lot can be achieved by plowing through everything with your tank. Lancers feel pretty useless in comparison. Sometimes it is a bit annoying that you are put in a situation you cannot anticipate, often resulting in lost units. Luckily you can save mid-game and load it again if you mess up a turn. One thing that is bloody annoying though is that this game does not autosave! One night I finished a skirmish level and closed the game, but didn't save... Damn. Still a great game, and I'm curious if other games in the series are worth checking out after this one. Pokémon Ultra Moon - Nintendo 3DS I picked this up dirt cheap before my holiday, and intended to play it while travelling. Unfortunately I didn't have the proper power converter with me so I couldn't use my 3DS So instead I started playing this a while ago. Initially I really couldn't get into it, with the slow intro and the extremely happy "Welcome to Alola, we are all your friends!" kind of crap. Where is the time that your rival was an asshole? Now he even heals you before a battle! That is one of the things I'm not liking about this game, every two steps someone comes up to heal your team. The other thing is that the game keeps steering. You can go left or right? Let's block left with a Pokémon/person so we can force you into another cutscene. That aside, I'm starting to enjoy it more. I'm currently about 8 hours in and on the second island. I don't know all this gen's Pokémon, let alone if/when/how they evolve so that is fun exploring. I like the island setting, and the Mantine surfing between islands is a fun minigame. I'm wondering when the Ultra Beasts come into picture. For the rest I don't think this will be my favourite Pokémon game. Team Skull is just silly, Z-moves are a big step back from Mega evolutions and chatty Rotomdex is also a hit-and-miss. Will plow through it though as I want to at least play a main game from every generation. But this game is testing my endurance a bit. DOOM (2016) - PC With all the DOOM news everywhere, plus a good sale on the game on Steam, I thought the time is now to buy and play this! I'm enjoying it so far, although it's not a game I can play for hours and hours. But it plays so well, and it's cool how there is a balance between shooting, glory kills for healing and using the chainsaw for ammo. Weapons are cool, and it is nice you can tweak them a bit to your liking. I am not really interested in reading all the lore you find, but it's cool it's there. I will definitely enjoy blasting my way through this one. I tried a bit of multiplayer but it is pretty dead, usually only finding 3 or 4 more players. Guess that was expected with Eternal around the corner and the game being 3 years old already. But I thought it may have picked up due to the attention the franchise had in the last few weeks.
  18. This was one of the lesser Indie Directs for me. The big one (Ori) was spoiled by the leaks, and for the rest it was okay but not much that made a lasting impression. The Touryst stood out and looks charming, and I'm intrigued by it. I like the art style, and the gameplay and various areas seem interesting. Skater XL can be fun. It would be nice to have a great new skateboarding title but I wonder if this is that title. Apparently it is already out on PC, so I may check some reviews of it. Freedom Finger stood out a bit because of the soundtrack, and it looks to have some good tongue-in-cheek humour but I think there are better shmups to play.
  19. The good news is, the Pi is no longer in the box! A while ago I set it up, first with Raspbian which was pre-installed on the bundled micro-SD card. I installed a bunch of the add-ons like LibreElec just to see how it works. LibreElec is what I use it for now, so I decided to format the SD and just install LibreElec, to make it as fast as it can be. Works great as a media player, and it plays formats my TV cannot play natively like H.265. What's funny is I was watching a movie through my Pi, and I wanted to pause so in a natural reflex I grabbed my TV remote and hit the pause button. And it worked! I don't know how, as the Pi was not online, and only connected to the TV through HDMI, so I guess HDMI can pass that kind of info? I have to see if other remote control functions work through my TV remote, would be awesome. This weekend I installed RetroPie on a different SD card just to test it out. Put on a bunch of SNES and GBA games. These last ones don't look pretty on the big screen. I want to get some NeoGeo games going, but also need to find myself a good controller. Now I used my XBox 360 controller, but that's usually hooked to my PC and I don't want to keep switching the wireless dongle. I think the Switch Pro Controller could work though, although I don't know how that reacts as the Pi is practically next to my Switch. Anyway, more experimentation is needed!
  20. More news on Shantae and Silksong would be great, although I can live with a later release date as I've played both previous games not too long ago. Shovel Knight King of Cards is long overdue though, and needs to arrive ASAP! I think the split previously was because the EU one was at the same time as Gamescom and focused on EU devs, while the US one was focused on PAX/US devs.
  21. Ah yeah I remember that moment, and was quite baffled I saw Dark Samus in the victory screen! Cheers for the games guys, I always love serving as punching bag for you.
  22. Yeah just go while I figure out what's going on. Keep getting communication errors.
