  1. Cheers @Fierce_LiNk, some good advice. My PC can run it, and I have a reasonable set of speakers (I have these, they look like a KRK ripoff but sound good for the price they are). I'm looking into it a bit, and the Scarlett 2i2 is indeed popping up as the most popular one at the moment. One that caught my eye is the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 1 or 2. In functions it looks pretty similar to the Scarlett, although the Scarlett is made from sturdier metal. I do like the clean look and button layout of the Native Instruments though. Another plus for the Native Instruments is that you get Guitar Rig 5 for free for a limited time. And it's cheaper. My second doubt is whether to go for the Audio 1 or 2 (or for the Scarlett Solo or 2i2). Right now the solo versions would be enough, as I can record both guitar and mic with it. But I may be missing out on stuff I want to do in the future such as recording stereo or maybe use 2 microphones at the same time. Then again I'm just starting with this so chances are I won't be using the extra options anyway. Think I'll go for the Audio 1, but not 100% sure.
  2. I'm pretty sure one of my villagers left inner own. She did say she was leaving and I could say don't leave. But I didn't so away she went.
  3. I'm looking to do some home recording in these days of being homebound. Anyone has some advice? Currently I can record bass and guitar through the Rocksmith USB cable but that's not ideal. I also have a microphone with an XLR connector that I would like to connect to my PC. So I guess I'm looking for a small DI or mixer that let's me plug in both an XLR and a jack, and connects to my PC through USB. But there's so much on the market so I'm wondering if you have some pro tips! Also curious to hear what software you guys are using.
  4. And that's Ori done for me as well. I've completed the game yesterday, after about 7 hours and with 85% completion (and I skipped the whole underground burrows :P). I figured I would go item collecting before fighting the final boss but... So I booted the game up again today and got to 99% completion and all my skills unlocked. The remaining 1% must be the blue stones that don't show up on the minimap as I got every listed item. I enjoyed playing Ori. The mood is set right in the beginning, and it feels magical from the start. It is great that without a lot of dialogue and storytelling they can really get themes like friendship, loss and hope across. The amazing soundtrack and the graphics help a lot in that as well. It is a true Metroidvania in the sense that you start as this fragile little creature and you really have to be wary of your health and when you save as it uses some valued consumables. Fast forward to the end and you can breeze through the world, all-powerful with a lot of different jumps, dashes and what's more. But like @Jonnas said, it does make an obvious case of where to go next, so in that regard it is rather light in the Metroidvania spirit. Also I agree with Jonnas about combat, it is rather simple and just a matter of mashing the button. I wasn't impressed by the enemy designs as most are just blobs and tentacles. They all relied too much on their projectiles, and the art style made it hard to see sometimes. Although the game looks stunning, the excessive use of glow and lighting does make it difficult to make some judgements regarding enemies and hazards. One enemy stood out though: What a majestic beast. It wasn't a particularly difficult game to tackle and maybe I should have put it on Hard as well. There were only three really difficult segments, and they were All in all I really enjoyed the game despite the shortcomings. The fact that I blasted through the game in 2 or 3 sessions says it all, as that's something that I hardly ever do. It helps that it is not a particularly long game. I'm glad I played it and if it learned me one thing is that I love Metroidvanias. This is not the best one, but it was a beautiful ride nonetheless.
  5. I'm at 109 so I may be coming over @Mr-Paul! I'll check if we're friends already.
  6. Cheers! I can bring a couple of garden benches. I have the recipe for the ironwood cupboard learned, but ironically that also needs an ironwood dresser. So I can make you one if you have an extra dresser to spare. I'll be over in a few minutes.
  7. I've played @Sméagol's level some more yesterday. First with the pro controller which was a big mistake as the down B just failed too many times due to the shoddy D-Pad. So I tried handheld with my DxM Hori monstrosities and at least I made it to the halfway point! The biggest struggle was the bit right after. I tried the @RedShelljump (patent pending) but could only pull that off twice. Using the bow I had about a 25 percent success rate. I couldn't get through the bit after that with the bomb and bow combo. Then when I accidentally pushed Try Again after a death and had to start from the beginning I gave up (it's just stupid that Try Again resets the whole level and not at the checkpoint). Also: Despite not finishing it I vote for @Sméagol this month. The level is well considered, there are enough visual markers to help you with what you need to do, and it's nice to play a Link level. The only real criticism is the difficulty but I'm guessing that's not going to change with his levels.
  8. Anyone who has an ironwood dresser or the recipe for it to spare? Want to make a kitchenette for which I have the crafting recipe, but it requires the dresser.
  9. Apparently the latest update that reintroduces NPCs is quite alright, so it may actually be fun to play by now. I wasn't there last time but Terraria is great and I wouldn't mind jumping back into it. I haven't played it in years. How does it work in a private server? All together in one map or something? From what I see there is also a new update inbound on May 16.
  10. Consider it a gift from my side as I made use of your amazing turnip prices earlier this week!
  11. There are two themes to be downloaded, a Mario Odyssey one and a NES Mario one. I got both, but apparently I already had the NES one so I have that code to spare. If you want to save a whopping 100 platinum points you can use it:
  12. Having entry fees is just the beginning. How about Animal Crossing Players Are Now Hiring Turnip Bouncers? It's both extremely funny but also sad that this is happening. Very creative though.
  13. Wouldn't mind coming over as well haha. I can do anywhere after 6PM UK time!
  14. Some colleagues of my girlfriend where going on about Tiger King, so we decided to watch the first episode on Friday. With not much to do this Easter weekend we ended up watching the whole thing (except for the new episode 8). Yeah what a ride. The fact that these people are in existence is just baffling. I couldn't help but feeling sympathy for Joe, what a guy. No doubt he did bad things but this being America I think this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding animal abuse. Not just for big cats but for all animals in general. Carole is just wrong, she looks like the kind of woman who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. And then there's the endless list of side characters. That ragtag crew of Joe, goddamn. You just can't make that up.
  15. I also don't have a lot of extra time due to lockdown. I still can work 8 hours a day but from home, and my commuting time now usually goes towards house chores. I thought about making a level but couldn't come up with a good idea. Hopefully next time! But during the Easter weekend I did have some extra gaming time since we couldn't visit family or something. So yesterday I gave all 3 levels a go. Started with the one from @darksnowman. I love how you went mad with all the audio and visual cues haha. The level itself was alright, not too difficult but there also wasn't anything that stood out for me (except for the audio cues). @RedShell's level was good. Nice to see a 3D World level. Using the jumpy mouse was fun as I haven't seen him often yet. The downhill speed bit was slightly infuriating, but I managed to get through it. But Luigi just kept wall-sliding which slowed him down so it's a matter of not doing that. I was hoping Link would pop up sometime in a level (I was hoping someone would pick him as the theme), but here he is in @Sméagol's level. I saw his preview on Twitter and I knew, this is going to be hell. I've tried it a couple of times but this is going to take some perseverance and I gave up after 15 minutes because me and the misses were going to watch Tiger King. I doubt if I will have the stomach to finish it but I'll give it a couple more tries today. So no winner yet, but this challenge does confirm that I don't like autoscroll levels. They are always my least favourite ones in Mario games, and I didn't feel it here either. They're just so slow, and when you die you can't rush through the bit you already know but you have to abide the scroll speed.
  16. I've put my first 77 minutes in today. They were a good 77 minutes. The soundtrack is amazing. It's a bit easier than Hollow Knight, and it's also a bit more obvious where you need to go. Ori is a bit more floaty in jumping compared to Hollow Knight, so that takes some getting used to. Anyway, off to a good start!
  17. Stock is severely limited here in the Netherlands and as such prices have gone up here as well, around €90. Amazon now has it for €80 with delivery around the 24th. I was thinking of getting this for my birthday but I wonder if it will be restocked properly before the beginning of May.
  18. I saved up 3 atlas moths for the next time he visits. I've opened my island by the way if anyone wants to visit. Not much going on today but everyone's welcome!
  19. I just love how you put yourself on the highest level. No question who is the bossman. When it's complete I would love to come over and see it as it is!
