https://shop.royalmail.com/special-stamp-issues/star-trek Not gonna lie, I’m very tempted to buy a load of these 😆

I’m hoping the LG smart remote will work as it does for my other consoles and let me control media playback on the PS5 as well. It’s a really helpful feature.

In case anyone else is planning on picking up some cheap PSN top ups like I am to make sure I'm ready for some digital purchases when the PS5 comes out, I figured I'd share the list of the cheapest I found (from the sites I use anyway) £100 - £87.85 shopto £90 - £78.85 shopto £80 - £68.85 shopto £50 - £42.49 CDKeys £45 - £37.85 shopto £40 - £33.85 shopto £35 - £29.85 shopto £30 - £25.75 ElectronicFirst £25 - £22.85 shopto £20 - £17.85 shopto £15 - £12.85 shopto £10 - £8.85 shopto £5 - £4.79 CDKeys

Oculus support sucks. They asked for all my details so they could arrange a replacement, name, address, phone number, serial numbers, proof of purchase invoice etc. So I send them all this personal information, they take a day to reply and say thanks for sending that, we’re now going to take 48 hours to have a more thorough think of the best way we can help you.

Looking on Reddit and the Oculus forums there are quite a few complaints about it. People seem to think it's an issue with the main cooling fan. I've got a ticket open with Oculus Support at the moment but we're only at the "try restarting the device" stage. It's still useable as if I turn a real fan on in my room the vibrations completey drown out the buzzing so I can at least keep playing while I wait.

Well my headset developed a buzzing noise today. Annoyed that it’s a couple of days and it may already be faulty and need returning 🤬

Streets of Kamurocho (PC, 17th October)

The game is available now. Make sure you all download it! -
Only ever been to Taco Bell once but I got the Crunchwrap Supreme and loved it. As I haven't had a chance yet to go back I decided to make one. I think it turned out alright.

Sideloaded a few games this morning to test out other stuff. Did some shooting and there was no noticeable lag when firing. I've got a cheap link cable arriving today so hopefully should be able to properly test out some PC VR games later.

First episode of Discovery season 3 was ok but not great. Some interesting universe building going on and a few nods to past Trek. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take this season.

Bought Tetris Effect as well

I’m pretty sure it is the strap because as long as I align it properly vertically it’s fine and all in focus, it’s just where the headset sits on my face. I’ll definitely have a go with a shooting game and let you know how it feels. I don’t know how often the Oculus store has sales but I’ll probably pick up a load of games during their next big one. That new Walking Dead one looks good so I bet that would be a good test.

Spent a bit of time today setting up the Quest 2 and testing it all out. I'm pretty impressed so far. It looks a lot better than my old Vive and PSVR. I can definitely adjust the headset so everything is in focus but it's resting spot doesn't feel quite right. I think that'll be something I can fix with the better headstrap so I'm gonna spend some time later deciding between the normal upgraded one or the one with the extra battery pack. I tried out Virtual Desktop wirelessly which worked fine until I launched a VR game and then started chugging along. Obviously my wifi network isn't up to the task. I'm happy enough to use a link cable though for the more graphically intensive games. Being able to connect to my Plex server through Bigscreen now is great, giving me access to all my media files. Haven't tested many games yet but I did finally have my first experience with the Beat Saber demo. Despite the fact that I was lying down at the time so was in no position to hit most things I already found it very fun. I think I'll have to buy the full version of that immediately.

They do unless you the preorder hits 3 months with nothing happening, then they charge at that point.
-
I'd forgotten again about my preorder until The Game Collection charged me for it last night. I guess they made my decision for me whether to keep it or not.

Wow. The school I work at just sent out a letter to staff saying that they know it’s gonna get colder soon but we’ll have to leave windows open for ventilation so to help out they’re gonna let us buy school branded warmer clothing to wear, but don’t worry, they’ll pay 15% of it. Fuck off will I be buying clothes that I will never wear anywhere else but work just to stay warm! I’ll wear my unbranded, regular warm clothes and they can shove it!
-
Oh yeah I've no doubt that it is, I just don't really like spending over £40 for any game and with the PS5 coming out next month I'd rather at least try and save some money.
-
Yeah I remember using Google Earth with my Vive when I first had that and it was very impressive. I will be using Virtual Desktop as I want to give that a test to see how well the streaming works without buying myself a link cable. Shame Half Life Alyx is still over £40. I'll probably wait until that's next on sale before I get it. I'm hoping that BigScreen launches their PSVR app soon as @Goafer and I have a weekly webchat now where we watch movies or play games and it'd be great to be able to do that cross platform with the Quest 2 and PSVR in BigScreen.

Decided to get myself an Oculus Quest 2. I’ve had other VR headsets previously but never liked being tethered to computers or the PS4 to use them so I’m really looking forward to having a much simpler headset that I can just put on and use. I’m also hoping that even just the illusion of using travel apps etc will help me feel a bit better about not being able to get out and visit places this year!
-
Did anyone get the Quest 2 today then? I’ve been very close to ordering one all day so I’m interested to hear any impressions.
