He seems to dial back the Scot as the series goes on, at the beginning there are R's rolling all over the place like he's trying to be Billy Connolly, but coming to the end he seems to sound more like you hear him on Good Wife/Instinct etc Plus some missions are missing, or appear to have been made easier coz 'Merica.

There is a US version of this on the iPlayer, same location and tasks, but hosted by Alan Cumming who (even though he is Scottish) puts on a horrendous Scottish accent

I've never played a Devil May Cry game before, what would you liken it to? Something like Bayonetta?

I meant to add "stuff worth doing". I had in my head the whole time writing that post but it never reached past the fingers. -

I'd grab something sweet to take the bitter taste of this post away. I say this after reading what I've written and I feel this warning is needed. Many of the shrines were repetitive, all the dungeons followed one main mechanic (Bop It until you pushed all the buttons), I couldn't remember how many time towns etc there were, an IGN page has about 9 with town/village in their name, obviously 4 of those will be the realm of the race that you get, lots? Compared to Ocarina etc, certainly more, but the scope of the world (for me) made them seem more sparse. Stables, true there were a fuck ton. They were great to warp to in times of need. Enemy encampments were so vanilla and unmemorable I found myself landing at some to find I'd already opened the chest there, so ran off. Fuck the Korok puzzles, when you get to 50-75ish and you find out there's 900, no game is worth that kind of investment, even more so when you realise all you get is a golden shit as a fuck you for your time. It's been awhile since I've played an Assassin's Creed game, but I think if each Korok seed was on the map even they would go "fuck that's a bit excessive". I understand what they're trying to do with homage to the original Legend of Zelda, but I didn't like the first entry. I hated the near zero direction aspect. I hate massive handholding just as equally frustrating, a little guidance isn't too much to ask. Some Navi-style hints, not too much to ask The compendium/album thing is a thing I've seen crop up in games recently too, spot this insect/bird/plant etc. I'm able to do this in real life but I don't because it's boring. Honestly can't remember much about the side quests, I've clearly drunk too much since then, which I think is the real meat of what I've missed out on here. This is what I'm looking the most forward to when I replay this. Which I guess with Tears coming out soon I best get my skates on to refresh myself. -
Anus to the wall I'm so sorry. I thought there was only 3 and added that on to your number =S I'll give y'all a minute to catch up to this weeks drops EDIT: One thing I will say though, as it's been evident throughout, that despite walking around a flat, with small excursions to gym/yoga room/roof - Chaz has way too many fucking pairs of shoes!

It baffles me. For the scope of the world and amount of places you *go*, there didn't seem to be much you could *do*. I certainly wouldn't consider it worthy of any awards, I don't think it did anything truly groundbreaking (?) (Was the stamina system for climbing a new thing?) I'm not saying it's a bad game, but it isn't a great game either. Like @darksnowman I cannae believe I feel this way about a Zelda title. I'm all for evolution and stuff, but after the initial Plateau and the first Divine Beast, everything just seemed the same. One side note, how the fuck did a hood not protect me from the cold, but some earrings did?! That shit be whack homie. -

We don't talk about Symphonia 2. It never happened. It doesn't exist! Arise might have had better dungeon action if you weren't always looking for a key/card for a lift 90% of the time, c'maahn, fool me into thinking it has a bit more variety by having me look for other things. Just Keys etc in Zelda feel more organic as locked parts of a dungeon, as opposed to asking "where are the stairs?" Not even the dungeon design, the whole world in Arise was just one long path, I think about 2-3 "overworld" sections had an alternative exit. Every region consisted solely of its capital city which had one path in and out. Running around Sylvarant and discovering new shit and church hotel things... Why have RPGs strayed from this I don't remember Abyss that much to be honest. I need to whip out the 3DS and give it another whirl. -

Yeah but how many times does Link pop back up again after getting killed? From Ganon's point of view, he's this undead, relentless terminator that is hellbent on hunting him down over thousands of years. Was Ocarina's Ganondorf born in that Hyrule? They blew their load mentioning he was the only dude. -

You could mark everything out from the high point if you wanted, I only really marked things I could see and stumble across the rest as I travel round. I don't have anything in my memory about BOTW's Hyrule, apart from the sandy bit is on the left and a few other small things. I have no doubt I'll forget about Greece(?) and once I'm done with Fenyx I know will forget the layout of that too, as I've done with pretty much every open world game I've played. But I will remember that it had more character than BOTW. Again, as I keep telling myself I will give it another go and see how Hyrule will fare more on ground level, maybe I missed some stuff. -

You amass 4 powerful people to help you battle the giant red thing in the middle of the map, the story doesn't differ much from BOTW. It's just got a better looking and more interesting world, and going brave like @drahkon compliments with, I'm finding the puzzles better as well. I will go back to give it another chance, but it does more things wrong than Fenyx for me. My original post had something like @MindFreak was saying in Pokémon locales. Even though the places called town/city in previous games consisting of 4-5 houses actually felt like grander than they were because they were isolated/separate from the main map. In Violet you are seeing at a smattering of houses in a massive expanse of green, with the exception of one where you can't even glide into because it needs to load it up for you, yet the people can't walk properly at a distance. They spend more real estate with the Star bases (which seem to use a whole academy's worth of tables for each barricade and not get expelled {fuck them all and boot them out}) which could've gone to making more decent places to go I don't think it helps that you can't go into any of the buildings to chat with the people, just the many, many, many, many fucking clothes and food shops. -

Fucks sake... I wrote a reply and because I got another quote from someone else it seemed to just shit all over it. I'll just summarise my amazing arguments. To summaries - I agree @Dcubed , BOTW killed my enthusiasm for the Zelda series, it was mostly large, mostly boring, mostly empty. Fenyx Rising is a better game. @Jonnas - Graces was the peak of the Tales series, Arise was just corridors, fuck the Symphonia remaster unless they actually do something -
Circle, open up group chat called Spoilers up to EP 6 ahead! I'm very disappointed in Marvin, right after the "date", I was expecting him to go to Raven and confess he'd said some shit but didn't mean it... but instead girls talk and he thinks he's the new Shaft and can get away with it. [heaven forbid he knows the first element is hydrogen too, dumb fucks] I'm so glad Shooby has gone, I was a bit hopeful for him at the beginning, but I think he went too hard on the alliance stuff, he seemed to start and end every conversation with "I've got your back until the end". I also don't think it was fair that they piled on him for getting rid of Bruno over Jennifer, as if it wasn't a 50/50 choice and there was an obvious alternative. Is this Oliver chap famous? He looks like a young gay Don King. Oh yeah.. send

They've been friends for many years, but with regards to Paris' involvement, I was always thinking about this too as it seems he's just a voicebox so to speak and I'm surprised that he isn't being more involved, which has to be by command from on high surely

Do eet, as they cancelled the UK one. The US is all we have, filmed in Manchester but scamming them into thinking it's stateside

Let me know how you find this. I bought this also but am waiting to complete Immortals Fenyx Rising* first *If only Breath of the Wild was this fun...

EEVIL's New Year Resolution Thread: 2023 edition

I'm just going to hurry for the December badge, but then I'm going to let it lapse. Memrise seems a bit weird in the different layout, but I'm starting from the beginning and even learning some new words. I do love the footage of native peeps saying stuff. I did splash out for the premium. Cheaper than Duolingo too . Very surprised the whole backlash didn't make them change it back/give the option to change -

It's still 2022! I regret nothing! -
Last year's for your reference: https://forum.n-europe.com/topic/39562-eevils-new-year-resolution-thread/?tab=comments#comment-1887960 Looking at last year's some have been fulfilled, I'm back with the saxophone classes and I've been on the Duolingo for the whole year (maybe 3-4 days without) but that will change with telling them to bollocks and using Memrise. Yesterday I was thinking about my gym resolution and about how fresh it was, turns out it's the same as last year. But this isn't really my fault this time! We've had to move offices which has tripled my commute time. Models... Well that was a pipe dream, as is for all people in this world. GO

Main gift was a PS5 from the missus, which was a surprise. Since I've bought Fenyx Rising, Devil May Cry 5 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. One of my consultants have me a high street voucher which I spent a bit at Primark on some DBZ socks and denim shirt.

Something I only found out yesterday an hour after watching it without the song. Next year... Non-film stylie I like the Ross Kemp modern take, giving you some Groundhog Day feels too. The Christmas Carole one Sky have done this year isn't that special, but the Morecambe and Wise actors are spot on. It's worth watching once just for that

Did she keep the receipt? I'm sure she has, I haven't broached the subject yet. Decided to just bollocks with it and enjoy it, invested in thrice games from the Amazon, so should keep going for awhile

I'm unsure how I feel about the PS5, the wife has just bought me one for Christmas and I'm mixed about it, whilst next gen stuff is nice, it isn't something I ever thought about getting, and the price I think is too much at the moment.
