The homing attack adds nothing and takes away the platforming skill. Because of it there can never be anymore Careful precise jumps you see in mario games. You can just.. pretty much FLY over them. check out the 1:05 part here in sonic 2. That's a bottomless pit, and requires perfect jumping. It's been a while since I've seen that sort of thing in a sonic title. For me this sort of functionality should be a powerup, like Mario's cape and not a constant move. Makes things too easy. I didn't expect colours to turn out light-years better than 4 to be honest, but well It very much did. I think I might be one of the few people who don't care what sonic looks like. The green eyes don't bother me a hell of a lot. Character redesigns happen all the time. When it happens on the scale of spyro though, is when I get bothered. I'm beginning to wish they'd leave old sonic alone at this point. I don't think it's pleasing anyone.

Well I've been playing through this and it's amazing. It literally does everything a fan remake wants and I'm convinced its better than anything sega would have released themselves. Just a few notes on what I love: 1: See I never really played streets of rage 3 so I'm not sure the improvements but I love all the special combos you can use now and how you can now use your specials and the police! 2: It's WAYYY faster and I love it. 3: How double tapping down and up has your character doing a roll. 4: The music remixes are fantastic! 5: I appreciate them keeping the graphics to the 16bit. That's the point! Sonic 4 could have learnt a thing or two here. 6: combining the 3 games with a map screen is a great idea. 7: the ability to THROW your weapon! I can't tell you how annoying it was in the original when your character threw your weapon away randomly. Just a few things they COULD improve: 1: There's a lot more blood in this than I remember... I mean it's cool enough but It didn't strike me as a game that needed it. 2: That damn second boss(guy with claws) still is random as fuck. I never found a viable strategy for beating him. I CAN beat him but it's a matter of saving up the police cars just like the original and landing the fluky hit now and then. Overall its a fantastic remake. One of the best I've ever seen. It's soo good I don't want sega to make one. They'd only arse it up.

OH I'm not getting into this again.... I'll say this. Sonic games HAVE improved but sonic 4 is still shit. Being honest with you I have NO idea who sonic 4 was created for. I cam only assume being called "sonic 4" and trying it's best to look like the megadrive titles would have you thinking it was aimed at the old fans like me. But... they put elements of the new 3d games in there.. and I just can't understand it. The homing attack should be BANNED from 2d sonic games. The games used to take a beating even in the past for having more of a focus on rollarcoaster speed rather than on platforming and this doesn't help.... I had my doubts before this game was even released. Even in interviews the designers got things about the classic games wrong.. The original shield colour wrong for instance.. so I suppose it was no doubt they'd arse up the physics. I take offense that fan projects like Streets of rage remake and sonic 2 HD can achieve almost perfection but sega can't?

Prime has no choice but to use the doors as loading screens. It helps the atmosphere. Would you rather the game to be divided into smaller zones with "loading bitches" splashed across the screen. Naw man

Me too. I'm at the end of my 4th year in a music degree pretty much designed to tip your toes int every multimedia personality. Problem with this is.. I don't know how to do ANYTHING on a professional level. The obvious idea is to do a Masters but I feel so burnt out. Even in these last few months I feel incredibly unmotivated, it's almost like a disease.. laziness I'd LOVE to travel abroad, but I need money for that.....there are barely any jobs in Ireland... so I have to move abroad. It's so awkward at the moment.

Why was this version made? It's quite good actually. That " don't be a drag just be a queen" doesn't work here though. In fact the song would be a lot better in general if she stopped the talking parts.

It's really good but not the "best animated film i've ever seen" chill out you're beginning to remind me of " omg conair is the best action film ive ever seen" crowd lol It's really good though. That animation is fantastic the serious amount of detail that went into all the water effects and bottle reflections is astounding. I never left a film more thirsty in my life.
