  1. Well, the thing is Dazz, I think there are 2 types of people. People who feel there are certain places and certain times for courting other people, and those who believe all’s fair game. You need to be the latter. See a cute girl on the bus? Go sit next to her and make your move. In the supermarket? Do your thing. Basically say hi to every lone girl you see when doing every day things. If you really need a “proper” excuse, go do the usual group activity things. Follow a course.. A language course for example, or take up a sport. Edit: took too long to post.
  2. When Daft started this thread almost a year ago, I wasn’t really interested. I feel the same as Diageo, it doesn't really make me laugh, but I’m not quite sure if it’s supposed to. But I do like the artwork. Now the thread’s been bumped, I’ve read some of the more recent ones, and the story seems to take a turn for the epicness. I’ll give the entire series a proper read some day. I can imagine this as some sort of weird, gritty, post-apocalyptic sci-fi film with the occasional dry humour. If they can get actors with spot-on delivery, maybe even I can laugh about it. Oh, and if the mods rename this topic Romantically Apocalyptic - the webcomic, then “the singles thread†can be renamed to Romantically Apocalyptic. I also deem that appropriate .
  3. Finally saw The station agent on BBC last Sunday. The film was hilarious. Extremely dry humour, exactly my style. Like that guy in the beginning, that “train chaser”, commenting on his movie. “this is one of the darker tunnels in Canada..” You have to see it I guess. Glad I stayed up. I feel almost the same. I’d prefer it if they went realistic this once.. I’m sure they can do it, and the setting, and the atmosphere certainly would allow for it. I’d really like to see a “serious” 3D animation again, haven’t seen one (personally) since, damn, The spirits within. But instead they use an artstyle more geared towards their younger audience it seems. Anyway, ultimately no problem, I’m going to enjoy it anyway, and Kelly McDonald’s voice melts my heart . But I hope one day Pixar will make that “serious” animation, not aimed at kids for once. Or perhaps another studio, but I find that even less plausible.. Maybe Dreamworks?
  4. Took this picture last week. At least you’re warned.
  5. Had that ticket for 3 monts now. ’t was a nice evening. Some lovely songs, and she’s pretty funny too! At one point, the drummer just took out a carton box, and played on that. No need for drums! Good thing I took that gamble 3 monts ago, I generally can go to concerts for free (just like the movies, the concert was at the cinema / jazz podium where I work), under the condition it isn't sold out. But she’s a pretty big name for us, so I bet on this concert being sold out, and just bought the ticket (way) in advance. And it was sold out. All worth it.
  6. On no, that’s ok, I’ll just stare at my signature.
  7. Got a mail that Apple is having some kind of event on their online store this Friday, where they give away a lot of discounts. I assume this is an international offer? Keep an eye out in that case. Wish I had the money to take advantage of that deal. Would like to have an Ipod nano. If I had one, I’d mainly use it for internet on the go, if it fits in the bag (and I’m carrying my bag, but I usually do). I have no interest in most of their apps, like games. I could however see it as an excellent presentation device, which is the main reason why I could see myself buying an iPad 3 in the future.
  8. I love me some new femelas on the forum.
  9. Great article Eddie. Though I didn’t need to explicitly realise that.. I always was selective. There’s plenty things I want to try, but I can’t try everything. Frank, you need to be open to everything, but also be efficient in determining what is and what isn’t your cup of tea. Quickly discard anything that isn't to your liking, so you can try something else that may be worth your time. It may be beneficial to prioritise stuff that relates to what you’re doing / would like to do profesionally, it’s important to do stuff for a living you actually like. Don’t try stuff because others say you’re missing out, but because you think you’re missing out. And it may be a while, but remember you have plenty of time to catch up on stuff when you retire.
  10. So you’re not playing with power? (I’m so sorry, I couldn’t resist) You can easily test your power supply at a friend’s (or get a friend with another power supply).
  11. No need for violence (this time): There are other advantages to maintaining your teeth by the way, in regard to the discussion above.
  12. It could be worse. You could pass your theory in one go, then fail your driving test 4 times, at which point your theory certificate has expired, so you have to get a new one, and then fail your theory. That was me almost 10 years ago. Never touched a steering wheel after I did finally pass my driving test. I hate driving . Dare I ask what that particular toothbrush normally is used for? Anyway, got a call this morning, didn’t get the job in the porn industry which I had an interview for last week. It was the first interview in a long time, and the job certainly sounded.. Interesting (the porn industrial equivalent of an office job, for those whose curiosities were peaked ).
  13. It’s a miracle he’s still alive.
  14. Can we do something about this @PokemonCraft dude? His presence here was questionable before, but now he’s bumping old topics to spam his link.
  15. No idea, I’m confident they’re not sold over here. How are you doing Wesley? :p
  16. Myeah, saw Twilight yesterday . Well I was half watching / half napping / half making fun of it, making it harder for my brother to watch it seriously, but he didn’t mind :p. Not my kind of thing. That said, there are worse ways to spend your time. At least it has plenty of eyecandy. Or it had more potential for eye candy. It needed way more of Ashley Greene:heart: and Anna Kendrick:heart:. The other (evil) vampire was pretty hot too. Anyway. Above movie was seen on TV, but I also finally went to the cinema again, saw 2 movies. First was Circumstance, a teen drama of 2 girls in Iran. A similar theme as in Persepolis, but not animated and featuring some nice lesbian action. I fully admit that was why I went to see it in the first place.. Still, nice movie which got a lot more sinister in the end. Second was Restless. Bah. I’d leave it at that, but.. That wouldn’t really be informative. It’s the new Gus van Sant movie, starring the actress who played Alice in Alice in Wonderland. Didn’t like the dialogue / script, or the acting, which may be a direct consequence of the dumb script. Could have been a sweet story, but I wasn’t feeling it. And oh my God the soundtrack was annoying. Bad music at the wrong times. “Sappy and corny”, is a direct quote from the male lead, and it applies to the movie itself. I’m actually pretty sure that was intentional, but this movie could do with a little less sappyness. After that I wasn’t in the mood to watch the last Woody Allen, and went home. I’ll catch up on the rest of the movies I’ve yet to see Sunday. By the way, I’m highly anticipating The artist. I think it opens next week here, I don’t know if that’s world-wide release. It looks incredible.
  17. Myeah I dunno. It looks a bit like kickstarter. I guess it’s a good initiative, although something feels wrong about loaning money to poor people, I mean, why not just donate it? Perhaps simply for the psychological effect, it removes a layer of “shame”. They’re not begging for your money, they just need something to start with (to start a business in some cases), then later they’ll pay you back. I’ll keep the site in mind, it’s more direct than just donating to a charity, where you’re not informed of what happens with your money.
  18. I am indeed. Trust me, I know what’s good for you.
  19. More spearmint. ](Dunno what polos are by the way)
  20. Did you eat the packaging as well? Regardless, I suggest you eat another packet.
  21. “Quadbot, transform!â€
  22. I really don’t know where you people get these terrible jokes from. I must get to the bottom of this.
  23. The best thing about being unemployed is that I have no fucking clue as to what’s in the charts. Blissfully unaware.
  24. So.. Who the fuck is Bob? :p
  25. Dude, you should be like, a comedian or something! Maybe even start your own comedy video series! Edit: Crabs:
