There are only 2 games that I wasn't aware of, so it's just a simple showcase of mostly older games. Maybe they're new in Japan.

Late shift A much beter FMV game. A complete smooth experience, it does away with any extraneous gameplay elements, enabling you to simply enjoy an interactive film for roughly 1.5 hours. Every now and again, there's a choice you have to make about what to say or do, and the film continues uninterrupted. Compared to the bunker, it plays better, looks better (more cinematic), the lead actor is better in my opinion, and the story is better with more twists. Apparently there are several endings, and I got a pretty bad one. So it's also more replayable than The Bunker, which doesn't really have any variations in its story, and two endings, which is simply a choice you make at the very end. I mean, I'm in no hurry to get all seven endings, but I'll at least try for a better one. Being an interactive film, I suspect it also makes a nice party game. Pixel Junk Monsters 2 DEMO I'm not really into tower defense games, but I absolutely love the artstyle of this game. I enjoyed the one level that the demo entails, and I could see this being a somewhat fun online multiplayer game (it apparently has online co-op), but it being a tower defense game, I can't see this have any long-lasting appeal. Especially if the full game doesn't contain any more building options and enemies,

Maybe I'll join you guys. I've always had an interest in the series, but never got the Wii game, and without a WiiU or 3DS, this 'll be my first opportunity to play it. Too bad it doesn't look that interesting visually though, after seeing videos of Monster Hunter World.. They should've build it from the ground up for Switch instead of 3DS. I don't see the appeal in playing this handheld.

(moved from the roster prediction thread) Looking at that character announcement video in the other thread.. I totally forgot about Ryu being in Smash. I think he's likely to make a return, with all the oldskool Street Fighter games available on the console by then. Mega Man is also pretty much guaranteed. As is Bayonetta of course, practically first party at this point. I'd like to see Cloud gone, who has no business on a Nintendo console, and preferrably be replaced by an Octopath character. Olberic seems to be the most likely, though I'd like to see Primrose. If they're doing Final Fantasy, they should bring in another character from one of the Final Fantasies that was actually released on a Nintendo system. Or Layle from Crystal Chronicles. He's more recent and more Nintendo than any other Final Fantasy character, though obviously also more obscure.. Wouldn't mind a sequel though. As for other potential new (3rd party) characters? Doomguy. With Doom's succes on Switch, and Bethesda's current support for the system, I wouldn't think this beyond the realm of possibilities. Because of its history, it makes much more sense than many other suggestions. At first you'd wonder what its moveset would be, apart from firing guns, but with the ridiculous amount of glory kill variations, they should have no trouble finding some melee attacks to accompany the gun firing special moves. And of course there's the chainsaw. They should include as many Doom 64 references as possible. This can be easily done by giving the weapons their Doom 64 look. Though the stage should be from Doom 2016 simply because those are prettier (and probably more recognizable for the average Switch player). At least one demon as an assist trophy, I suggest the 2016 Revenant. And / or a classic sprite Cacodemon. Final Smash should be the BFG. Also with SNK heroines appearing on Switch, combined with the numerous SNK games on the E-shop.. I would love to see Mai Shiranui make an appearance. Though I don't think it's likely.

Smash Bros Switch Roster Prediction Competition
Sméagol replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I agree it would make more sense business-wise, but this game is all about the fanservice, and Minecraft characters don't fit that bill for the game's target audience. If Nintendo is going to make a deal with Microsoft for one character, it's going to be Banjo. I suspect a lot of fans are going to riot if some Minecraft character is going to make it in before Banjo. At least I will. Edit: Ah this is the roster prediction thread.. I'll post a list later and move what I had posted here to the other thread. -
Yeah I don't see the point. It's just something extra to bring with you (two extra things if you want to actually make use of the charger function), for a neglible advantage.

Looks like Thanos would have won the dance-off.
-
Not on mine unfortunately.

I hope they put the previous two on Netflix before that. It's been a long time since I've seen those.

A new 2D fighter made by the Studio Saizensen, the studio that made Code of Princess, and published by Nicalis. It features characters from both Studio Saizensen and Nicalis, and apparently some other surprise characters as well. It's a pretty traditional fighter, except the controls are simplified. Graphics are 2D, although they're made with the help of 3D models. It should release somewhere this Summer. I made this thread, as yesterday they had this new character reveal: Some info and gameplay: Together with Street Fighter and Blazblue, it looks like I'll be doing some fighting this Summer.

It was a replay, so without the notifications, the effect is less.. But no, it didn't go in. Check the timer.. No Whatsapp unforunately..

Can we also talk about actual pirates?
-
Disappointing. Barely any new info. The only new tidbit I found interesting is that you can apparently watch other people play those NES games. Virtual Console never was that important to me, but I do want it eventually, and this is no replacement.

I just bought this game, in its seemingly continuous sale. (in preparation of this event) I think I may be playing it wrong.
-
I just backed it last-minute.. Only a few hours left. I just selected a low tier for now, I'll up my tier to something physical when the backerkit is up. It has achieved its goal at this point. Still some time left to achieve the Switch release stretch goal! Kickstarter page:

Today's Google Doodle is pretty cute. https://www.google.com/doodles/celebrating-georges-melies

Or if you prefer your video on Youtube:

Seriously, play it again.

From the guy who created a motherfucking liveset using 2 DSis:
-
This releases in August.

Combined with the pinball games I can definitely see some merit in that. I'm definitely not getting this at launch, I got the GameCube release back in the day. It's only one of 2 shoot 'm ups I own physically. Don't have any shoot 'm ups currently on my Switch actually, but I'll get a few of them eventually, with this now being a prime candidate.

I have my preferences.

I love iCarly, but I prefer Victorious.

N-Europe Summer Multiplayer Extravaganza MMXVIII
Sméagol replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
They could, but if we'd do two days, I don't want them to feel samey, so I'd like to limit the repeat games. It would allow for a guaranteed Salmon run though. So a little mockup: Saturday: (I guess you could also use the afternoon) 19:00 Puyo Puyo Tetris 20:00 Mario Kart 21:00 Rocket League 22:00 Mario Tennis 23:00 Splatoon all-nighter Sunday (I'd prefer a Sunday over Friday): (I guess you could also use the afternoon) 19:30 Runbow 20:00 Mario Kart 21:00 Streetfighter 3 third strike 22:00 Mario Tennis (egh, I'd like to limit repeat games, but this one will be new. Skip the Salmon run I guess) 23:00 Doom afterparty I'm not sure, but I think Blade Stranger will be out by that time as well, adding another candidate in the fighter genre. And I'm even less sure about this one, but Blazblue cross tag battle could also be out by that time. I'm going to be disappointed if the fighter genre isn't represented in this event.
