  1. Yep, I've reinstalled the GFX card drivers. This problem has been a massive problem for my brother (it was his computer) being a massive gamer he replaced the mobo, put a new heatsink on the processor, numberous reinstallations of windows. And still had the problem. I have found that his PSU is 550W but only cost around £19. Are cheap PSU's prone to crashing systems under load?
  2. Hmmm this appears to not only be a problem with playing videos but playing any games as well. I downloaded Counter Strike 1.6 for some nostalgiac play and that kept locking up. I switched from OpenGL to software can although it looked aweful, it was solid as a rock. It appears any time I put any type of strain on the GFX card its freezes my whole computer? Do I have a dodgey GFX card or is there not enough power being supplied?
  3. +10 for listening to Capdown!

    Windows 7

I've of people using existing Vista drivers and them working perfectly fine for Windows 7. So hopefully you should be ok. I've got 70% of the RC downloaded. I can't wait to test it out. I'm still on yee olde XP! Update: I've just installed Windows 7. So far so good. I'm all up and running even without installing any drivers myself.
  5. Please tell me you didn't mouth to mouth that dummy?! on a more serious note. take their benefits away from them. scum.
  6. Windows 7 Windows 7 RC Released 5th of May Post all of your Windows 7 experiances here.
  7. Haha! I love that last sentence. I installed CCCP now when I play the files it will play the audio and theres no video. I havn't had time to sit down and read everything on the CCCP website. When I get back home after the weekend I'll have a good look at it all.
  8. I think my overdraft stands at around £2000, but its a graduate account. Whilst I was a student I never needed a £2000 overdraft I only used around £500 towards pay day. I opened up a savings account, transfered £1000 and started to gain interest on this money. = Win. I'm still in my overdraft now, although I would like to be out of it. But having moved to a new city and the company I worked for went under after 7 weeks, I never got paid and then it took me another 2 months to find a job. I'm now on minimum wage scraping enough money to pay rent and bills, leaving me with a few pounds every week to try and climb back up to 0. Happy Times!
  9. I've switched back to Windows and have been impressed for the past two weeks, everything has seemed fairly stable... until. I downloaded the new episode of Dragonball Kai @ 720p my specs (posted below) should be plenty enough to be able to cope with the demand. At random times whilst playing the video (though WMP Classic) the whole computer will freeze and a reset is required. I've downloaded VLC, K-Lite, Xvid and uninstalled them all again! To no avail. This is why I moved away from Windows in the first place. I'm a fool to have gone back. Spec's Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz 3Gb of Ram ATI x1950 Pro
  10. This certainly looks promising. I would never / very rarely use the HDMI output.
  11. Whilst that may be true and getting some money is better than no money. You would find that a lot of workers would get exploited. It's hard enough to live on minimum wage, never mind any less than that. You would also find people working over 48 hours a week, just to pay bills and be able to eat. Edit: £4 an hour works out at £600 a month, take off tax and your near £500 a month. Take off £100 for council tax, £150 for food. Which leaves £250 for rent, water, gas, leccy bills.
  12. Thanks! Its been a pain in the ass to find a skinny fit suit. Any other suit has too much padding and looks stupid on me. The jacket and the trousers were supposed to be £125. Then I went back a few days later and they reduced it to £100. After discount I got the suit, shirt and tie for £110 and I was expecting to pay around £150. Bargin!
  13. I thought I would come out a little lower left, but hey who said middle of the road is bad!!?!?!? If anything I have a fair, balenced view. :P UK PARTIES 2008
  14. I always prefered this version on Sonic And Mario!!!

  16. These pictures are awesome http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/gallery/2009/apr/01/g20-protest?picture=345366776 It looks like it was a hell of a good day. I just wish Rage Against The Machine were there throwing out some tunes, to get the blood pumping. I'm glad RBS got smashed up. And why the fuck shouldn't people be pissed? Stupid bankers who lent too much money have made this recession much worse than I would have been. If I had lost my job, been declared bankrupt and had no home to live in. I'd be down there making my point. The only people I feel sorry for is the Police. Their job is to keep the peace but they are at the forefront of this. I saw one clip on the news where protesters had managed to surround one police on his own and were taunting him, he must have been pooping it.
  17. Hi Becky! Sorry to hear about what you have gone through. I have been in a similar position. I moved to Lincoln for a Graphic Design job, I worked for a small company who had been producing a magazine for around a year. I was there for 6 and 1/2 weeks and never got paid, then company shut down. There was also a few other things which I don't want to go into here but its was bad. So I'm in a new city, with rent, bills, council tax etc to pay. As soon as I heard about the company closing I panicked loads. I went down to the job centre and couldn't sign on for JSA because I hadn't paid enough contributions within the last tax year. I was a student you IDIOTS! I was entitled to claim money for Council Tax and my Rent, although I never went through with that, but that would have covered a massive chunk of the Tax and Rent. The best thing to do is get a job, any job ASAP, to get some money coming in. In the mean time cut all pleasure expenditure down to a minimum. I scrapped by for another 2 months, until I managed to get a job. It sucked so hard. I'm currently working in retail, which is killing me, but I'm almost back on my feet (finance wise) I've been doing a freelance work on the side, seen as Graphic Design jobs are few and far between in Lincoln. Treat job hunting as a job, work at it for 8 hours a day. Tweaking your CV, checking Papers/Websites/Shop Windows and widen your scope in terms of what job you are able to do. You can always look for your ideal job, once you have a job. Keep positive and keep your friends and family close, they will help lift your sprits when your down, and allow you to think positively which will help you find your next job. PS. What to start a Graphics Studio? http://www.zookai.co.uk
  18. I love your photo wall, the spacing in between the pictures makes it look uniformly awesome! That big canvas print is sexual. I need to get more Artwork / Photography up around my house!
  19. Well im still in the dark, just chilling watching Brokeback Mountain!

  21. Perhaps Jordan is Fex, Fex is Mike, Mike is Jordan.
  22. Spending money on electricity isn't fun. I'd much rather save some money and be able to spend it on fun things. Therefore I try and keep as many lights off as possible and use energy saving light bulbs where possible.
  23. Awesome I'm sooooo taking part!
