  1. But I want "DOSE MARKERS!" on Wii U too.
  2. Nothing new for this thread.
  3. So, any early deliveries of this+Kirby toy from the Nintendo Store?
  4. Not sure if I want the rumour of a post-direct Splatoon demo to be true or not. On the one hand it'd be awesome to get to play some the game already, but on the other, it'll could end up making the wait for the full game all the more painful and also lessen its impact slightly... Not even a remote chance that I wouldn't download it if it did happen though, I'm far too weak.
  5. Not expecting any megatons this year. But hopefully Nintendo have got quite a few smaller surprises in store for us. I'd love some more MK8 DLC, a SNES Remix, the finalised version of Art Academy Sketch Pad, etc... Guessing Star Fox will be fully revealed this time around, and we'll see what (if anything) has become of Project Robo/Guard. I suspect if we're going to get any significant retail game announcement from Nintendo it'll be a Wii U version of Animal Crossing. Which would be awesome, but at the same time I do worry that they'll be sticking to the formula too much, and AC could do with a bit of an overhaul now. As for Direct vs Press Conference, I'm not really fussed. At the end of the day the content is the same, and that's ultimately what I'm interested in. Obviously the shows we've had in the past have provided a lot of entertainment and some great moments, but we've had more than our fair share of "zazz" over the years:
  6. Getting increasingly hyped for this Direct. Even just the possibility of hearing some more of Splatoon's soundtrack is enough to make me excited for this ND though.
  7. Pretty much yeah. That's what I ended up doing anyway (despite having access to online) did all of my high rank key/urgent quests solo. It's tough, but all the more rewarding when you finally make it. Do agree with you though, I don't see why there has to be this disconnect between the offline and "online" sides of the game, especially as the quests are more or less identical.
  8. [TWEET]595235737462779904[/TWEET] Not played this since reaching G Rank a while back. Should probably check out that Mega Man and Chun-Li Palico DLC though.
  9. Just something I read on Neogaf. I remember you mentioning 5.1 support being mandatory though, so it seemed strange to see someone complaining that this game was in stereo. Unless of course it is like NSMBU and Smash. But that's also weird because a stereo mix at least makes some sense in both of those cases, but obviously Xenoblade would benefit hugely by featuring surround sound. I guess we'll just have to wait until the game is out over here to find out for sure. I've gotten used to playing Wii U in stereo again now anyway, these days I get my surround sound fix from the PS3/4.
  10. Nice version of Ripple Field from KDL3 in this:
  11. So I hear this game (the Japanese version at least) doesn't feature surround sound, only stereo. Pretty weird. Not that it really bothers me, seeing as I'm still rocking my old non-HDMI AV Receiver. I imagine some people won't be too pleased about that though, including @Dcubed. BTW, any thoughts on why they've omitted 5.1? Technical reasons perhaps?
  12. I was so lucky on that Water Park race. 3 invincibility stars pretty much in a row (a triple shroom broke the combo ) one of which was obtained in 2nd place! But yeah, my luck clearly ran out during the following race on Baby Park.
  13. G1: : peace:
  14. My Wario amiibo just keeps on being awesome: ...
  15. Damn, I was hoping this might've been news of the MK8 soundtrack CD. Oh well.
  16. Already played Guacamelee too, but I'm chuffed to see Hohokum on there. Wanted to get that back in the January sale but never got around to it, so will definitely be checking that out. Unfinished Swan also looks pretty rad. As good as some of those games are though, it does seem to be (just like April) another pretty weak month overall. Are they perhaps toning down PS+ slightly in order to sway people towards PS Now?
  17. Yeah, until they decide to flick the switch and then... bye bye game collection. Streaming is a horrible innovation. Especially for retro game preservation purposes.
  18. Same here. I still consider Super Mario Kart to be absolutely perfect, and continue to play it to this day. Definitely recognize the incredible quality of MK8 (obviously ) but don't really see myself playing/admiring it in the same way 22 years from now, as I currently do with SMK. Having... chest pains. ... Stop making me feel old, Glen-i! :p
  19. That guy needs to brush up on the definition of secret. He also missed this awesome "secret": You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse
  20. Personally I'd say 200cc should be an occasional thing, like frantic mode and specific item theme nights.
  21. Put together a vid of last night's shenanigans (rather than make millions of GIFs ). Left the last fight on Final Destination intact though, just because it's so goddamn epic: : peace:
  22. I 3 stared the lot without breaking 99% of the time : You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse There are some courses at 200cc where you have no choice but to decelerate/break though, like Rainbow Road, Dragon Driftway, 3DS Koopa City, etc...
  23. Just doing the update. That was certainly an interesting Smash session. Cheers guys! : peace: But yeah, my eyeballs can't handle anymore right now. Oh, and I'm gutted that I didn't save the replay of that awesome custom spring stage (where I was being annoying with Pikachu's taunt ) luckily I was capturing though.
  24. They're still using the Japanese version for this showcase. Hmm... Might not be looking good for a 2015 release. *EDIT* The run animation of the female player character is hilarious.
  25. 200cc mode really is impressive. Nintendo could've simply increased the speed at which the game runs, meaning it'd play exactly the same as before just at a quicker pace. But instead they completely reworked the gameplay, obviously resulting in certain corners now requiring you to break and some boost/ramp combos launching you much higher than before, which can produce some unexpected results. Here's a perfect (and funny) example of that: You can never reach that kind of height on 50, 100 or 150cc. Likewise there are lots of new shortcuts and areas that can be explored on the pre-200cc courses at the new speed. On Melody Motorway it's actually possible to fly up outside of the section with the giant musical notes! Here's another example of 200cc altering gameplay: Although it is possible to maintain a charged powerslide through those mud patches outside of 200cc, it's heavily dependent on character/vehicle setup. But in 200cc it looks like it can be done using any combination, all of the time, because of the additional engine power. And one more:
