Yeah, I normally use either headphones or surround sound, it's on the rare occasions when listening via my TV's crappy speakers (and only on games like Metal Gear and Rocket League) that I really notice the increased fan noise.
-
It's completely down to luck whether you get a louder PS4 or not, and apparently the variable fan noise continues to be an issue even with the newer model. There was a topic about it on Neogaf recently and it seems the majority of systems out there get extra noisy when playing certain games.

Nintendo & DeNA Business Agreement - Nintendo on Smartphones
RedShell replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
So do you need to login with your CN account, or your NNID to get the 750 stars, or does it not make a difference? -
I'm probably not going to be able to take part tonight either. Should be cool for next week though.
-
Ah. I was hoping it could just be used as a way to play the game without needing to put the disc in my PS4.#laziness

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Online Meet Up Thread
RedShell replied to Sprout's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah.Unfortunately that type of tourney can't be created though, and looks like they can only be played with random players too. I guess the best thing to do would be arrange a day/time on here first (whenever most people can play) and then someone create a tournament that's limited to an hour or a certain amount of games. -
Anyone know of any good deals on the Vita? I'm still tempted to pick one up, and the fact I now have PS+ games waiting to be played on it is making it all the more tempting.
-
So what's the dealio with the PS+ version of Drive Club? Is there any point in downloading it if you already have the retail version, does it use the same save file?
-
Yeah, just got it myself, cheers. I'm sure it wasn't "free" the first time I checked... Weird.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Online Meet Up Thread
RedShell replied to Sprout's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The tourney I made runs until Saturday, but unfortunately not many people joined so finding a game ain't easy. I've only managed to play one match in it so far. It's a shame the regular style tourneys can't be user created, as that probably would've worked better for an N-E tourney. -
Damn it. Looks like the chance to get those games has gone.
-
So I just played this for the first time in a while (after installing a new update) and it starting running like shit. The online game I played was a complete lagfest (worst I've ever experienced in this game) and even offline seemed to be a bit glitchy. Anyone else noticing this kind of stuff since the latest update?
-
Ooooooh. The latest update added a photo mode! :awesome: Some of my pics: Some of the textures in this game are just ridiculously good. Photo mode is great to be able to appreciate the quality of the visuals even more. This update also seems to have made the game run much quieter, which is awesome. : peace:

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Online Meet Up Thread
RedShell replied to Sprout's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Good games earlier @Sprout. Spontaneous Smash FTW. We should get an N-E Tourney going at some point. Who'd be up for it? -
Probably nobody. About 10 people have joined my tourney, but yeah, someone needs to be online and searching for a match in order for anyone else to play. Not exactly the best system, however... For that you'd need to join one of the regular Tourneys. A new set (with various rules) opens up every 5 minutes, and everyone plays their matches at the same time. The spectating aspect could be better, but at least it's possible to watch replays of the other games, if you choose to stick around after getting knocked out.
-
Heh. Well it's easy to lose track of time when playing I guess, but anyway it is definitely a short game.
-
I'd say so, yeah. It only takes around an hour to finish anyway, and can be pretty special if you manage to get through it in a single session with another player.
-
Depends on how they're setup as there's quite a lot that can be customised.Mine is set to run until the 8th of august and you can play upto 100 matches in it. I'm online right now if you or anyone else is up for some games.

Have had my MK8 CD on pretty much a constant loop since I received it the other day. What an incredible soundtrack! Loving those little descriptions in the booklet and exclusive artwork. It's great how a few of the tracks are also unique versions for the CD. :awesome: Man, I'm gonna miss Club Nintendo...

Yeah I know, that's what I was on about. Have been playing it quite a lot recently, it's amazing for a free download. No adds and very generous with the amount of tracks you can unlock by simply playing the game. That's interesting. I went into my first playthrough on PS3 pretty much blind, and imagine it would have had much less impact if I'd seen/heard about it all beforehand. But everyone's different, and the game itself can be very different depending on whether you hook up with other players and how they go about the journey too.
-
I did? Really don't remember. What the hell happened to the original thread though? Also tried searching for it just now, but it seems to have completely disappeared. Anyway, I think the main issue with this version of MGS was the frame rate, but again it's been quite a while since I played it and my memory is atrocious. Guessing I didn't have any trouble with the default controls though, as I completed the game (multiple times apparently ) without the use of a Circle Pad Pro. I do remember there was that cool customizable camouflage thing which used the 3DS camera, that was pretty fun.

Cheers for the tip.You really do go above and beyond when it comes to trophies. I bet you did the elastic band thing to get the distance trophy on Rocket League too. Looking forward to hearing your (and @Fierce_LiNk's) impressions of the game. Just make sure whichever of you plays it first, does so alone.
-
Also played through Journey again. Still an incredibly powerful experience, those final moments... Got all the trophies in the few hours I played last night (apart from the play a week later one, obviously ) weird how you can earn the trophies again if you already played it on PS3 though. Anyway, I realised the other day that I haven't been documenting any of the mobile games I play in this diary, so I've now added a separate section for those. Won't include when I played/beat these games though, mainly because I can't really remember for most of them, and also because a lot of mobile games don't have an end anyway. Will try to mention any standout titles I play on mobile from now on though. The latest games I've downloaded, Groove Coaster 2 and Does not Commute are both highly recommended. Groove Coaster is an awesome rhythm game that plays amazingly well on a touch screen (@Dcubed check it out if you haven't done so already!). And Does not Commute is a new game by Mediocre (the guys that made Smash Hit) and although I haven't played it that much yet, it instantly brought a smile to my face and appears to be another really well designed and fun game. Have added the links to those games in the list below. : peace:
