Not sure if it's cool to mention that stuff really, but as Ashley said, we do know that a lot of people took little to no notice of the embargo whatsoever.

I had no intention of buying The Phantom Pain after I played through Ground Zeroes, but when I discovered more about TPP, and saw stuff like this: I just knew I had to have it. To say that it is infinitely better than what Ground Zeroes suggested it would be, is an understatement of epic proportions. TPP is without doubt the best PS4 game that I've played so far, the best Metal Gear game I've played, and in fact one of the best video games I've ever played! And this is only at 30% completion. Not to say that the same will be the case for you of course, / nando /, after all you are quite (no offense) fussy/particular when it comes to games. But yeah, I just wouldn't judge TPP based on GZ, that's all.

Nope: I'm not at all annoyed or disappointed by that either. In fact, this is the best MG game I've ever played as a result of cutscenes/story being toned down. Obviously still enjoying that stuff as and when it appears though, some of it has been really cool. But glad the focus is very much on gameplay this time. Anyway, got a few more missions done tonight and have just unlocked the FOB stuff. :awesome: Kinda confused by it though...
-
Wow, so I'm not even halfway through the game yet! Did mission 18 last night...
-
Just to clarify on the thing people are calling a spoiler, I believe it had already been featured on either a trailer or one of the Treehouse Live vids. Anyway, it certainly wasn't on Nintendo's list of things not to be shown, otherwise I wouldn't of included it. Even so, apologies to anyone that feels it was a spoiler.

I plan to check this out at some point. Would've been at launch, but got too much on my plate already with SMM and MGSV.
-
Are you crazy?! Dude, with my MGS "skills" I might not even be able to finish the game!
-
For those that don't vist the main site (what'swrongwithyou?.gif) here's that vid with the stages I made: I didn't include all of the "secret" elements in that vid though (like the correct path to the goal on Dodgy shroom ) as I plan to recreate those courses on the retail version so didn't want to spoil them. There's also a Babyface > hidden in each course (the one at the very end of the last level is just an extra). Will be including 1 in all of my stages, did the same thing with WarioWare: D.I.Y., so it's become a kind of tradition. I really wanted to mention this in the review, but it's tied to something else which can't be talked about... But yeah, my face when that mini-game first popped up was a picture.

Great stuff! I absolutely adore the Rhythm Tengoku series. As they were all released before you joined N-E, here are the old game threads if you're interested in checking them out: Rhythm Tengoku Rhythm Tengoku Gold/Rhythm Paradise Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise : peace:

@S\.C\.G., That Carnival multiplayer mode sounds great. I also think this game has probably been over criticised, after all it's not unusual for people to jump on the hate bandwagon in this industry. Exactly the same thing happened with Wii Music (although Nintendo didn't exactly help the situation with that E3 showing) and the majority of reviewers (and consequently gamers) judged it without ever giving it a chance. Anyway, I can definitely see myself checking out Devil's Third at some point. Shame it didn't come out earlier in the year. The Q3/4 video game onslaught is well and truly underway now though, so this will have to wait until 2016.

Heard these guys a while back, they're absolutely amazing! I listened to a lot of Mariachi growing up, so it's especially cool to hear VG tracks covered like this.
-
Yeah, I agree. As someone that has no interest in the story whatsoever, I can confirm that the game is still incredibly entertaining. And this is also coming from someone who traditionally hates the stealth genre! I'm 20+ hours into it now, and only at 13% completion. So yeah, the game is also bloody huge. :awesome: Hehehe. I think I'm a bit too picky when it comes to extracting soldiers since upgrading the binoculars. If they don't have good stats, they ain't coming back. All animals are welcome though, gotta fill up my zoo! Speaking of which, look what I found the other day....

Yeah, got a couple of vids on the way. One is just a small collection of various bits of gameplay footage, and the other shows a few of the levels I made. Like @Mike, has already mentioned though, the review version of SMM is not compatible with the retail ver., so I didn't actually make that many courses. It's also been a nightmare having to restrain myself from talking about the game. Anyway, hope everyone likes the review! : peace:

Was up way too late last night playing this. But just couldn't stop! Had the most epic...
-
Cool. Really looking forward to checking this out. What was your playtime to finish it?
-
Now that you mention it, the platforming and puzzle elements were actually the things I least enjoyed about the game. A lot of the puzzles were too random, and some of the QTEs that popped up while platforming (for grappling on to stuff) seemed really unresponsive. But yeah, was technically a free game, so shouldn't complain.

3 more titles to add to my list, first up is flOw. Got this after there was a mistake with the PS+ lineup for August, not a bad little "game". Very short and trippy, seems like there are a lot of these kind of titles on Sony's systems. Then I went back to PS3 for God of War: Ascension. First game of this series that I've played, was better than I was expecting it to be. Similar gameplay and style-wise to Bayonetta although not as good in my opinion. @Hero\-of\-Time, I see by your trophy collection that you've played through the lot, but also noticed that Ascension was the only one you didn't platinum. So, did I play the worst entry in the series, or just the one that's most difficult to 100%? And last and definitely least, it's Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. Not sure why I kept playing this as I found it pretty crappy. Guess I just liked the ancient Egyptian vibe. But yeah, game itself was quite boring. I also couldn't believe just how bad the the voice acting is, absolutely atrocious. Gave some much needed humour to the game though.

In the missions that don't involve the Gyrowing probably.

That's a shame, I imagined you'd be drooling all over the shop. Definitely agree on the credits/TV episode thing though, as I mentioned before. I mean it's not that bad as they're pretty quick, but that doesn't change the fact it's completely pointless. Anyway, I'm actually really starting to enjoy the game now. Played a great session last night just free-roaming on horseback. Exploring the terrain, gathering plants etc, watching the sun go down... was proper chilled. Almost felt like I was playing Animal Crossing! Unfortunately the game crashed on me at one point (maybe it didn't like me faffing about ) but luckily when I started it up again I was in more or less the same spot. The auto save kicks in quite a bit during gameplay. Did a few missions too. One of which saw me get jumped by a wolf: Scared the shit out of me! Fortunately I encountered a more friendly animal too:

Ah crap. Not played it today yet, but that means everything I did on Mother Base last night has reset too. Does it not save when you exit to the main menu then? Also, what's the deal with there being credits after every mission (or at least the few I've done so far)? Please tell me that doesn't happen every time... Konami might have removed Kojima's name from the box art, but damn! He made sure it'd be seen plenty in-game. As usual. I might start keeping count, it could be a Guinness world record. Nice. What did you make of the opening section?
-
My copy arrived. So far I've spent an hour...
-
The more I see of this, the more it fascinates me. It's just such an interesting concept, and the visual style (not to mention the tech behind it) is so damn impressive. :awesome: There's no doubt it's going to be a Marmite game though, reckon a lot of people are going to find that gameplay a bit too tedious. Anyway, release date please! I'm looking forward to exploring the surreal world of The Tomorrow Children more than ever.
-
Mine is also supposedly on the way. I didn't get as much training done in Ground Zeroes as I would've liked, but oh well... Should make playing this all the more entertaining. BTW, is it necessary to disconnect your console from the internet in order to play before the release date? I seem to recall hearing something along those lines, but can't remember for sure.
-
Possibly. In the vid I saw it looks like only 1 player is in control of the switch. It would make for a hilarious party game if everyone could though.
