Got the game this Sunday and started it two days ago, have now clocked in about 3 hours. I started with Therion the Thief and have just now completed a large part of my second party ally, H'aanit the Hunter, chapter 1. I had hoped to just complete all chapters for one character at a time but that doesn't seem like a good strategy. The game is stunningly beautiful, it really has something good going on there. The gameplay is also very nice, however, I'm a bit scared that the battles are mainly on autopilot and not really challenging. The boss for H'aanit just went on and on and it didn't really change much up...

Do you need a subscription in order to just play the NES games (local 2-player)?
-
Yeah, Beldum would be awesome, even though I only need 12 Candy to eveolve it fully. Bagon is also needed. However, I do feel it's time to add Gen 4 now.

Looks quite interesting, will most likely watch that one in the cinema. But... Samuel L. Jackson now plays himself 35 years younger?? What a man...

And naturally it requires Nintendo Switch Online subscription. It's also only 7PM-11PM CEST.

PlayStation Classic Announced (3rd Dec 2018)
MindFreak replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
That's gonna sell well! -
I don't get it. Why would they announce that Splatfests end July 2019 just before releasing Online? You'd think they would continue support of one of their biggest online games for.much longer Unless Splatoon 3 is underway or that they will just replace Splatfests with something else.

Well, they must have put up the timer as a datetime counter instead of an "on" counter. But it's a weird mistake to make, that's for sure!

Just completed Hyper Light Drifter for the first time and I must admit that I'm not really impressed by the game. It was conceptualised in 2014 and released in 2016 but now, two to four years later, it doesn't really seem fresh. The core gameplay holds fine, go to an area and find some keys in order to access the boss, do that four times and go to the final boss. They have then added some decent combat mechanics but this is where I think the game actually fails a bit because lots of recent games have done combat better. You have a very limited moveset and upgrades don't really make you any better. I also found the story way too cryptic with the same scenes repeating over and over and never really advancing the story. This means that when I finished the game, I still had no clue whatsoever as to what or why. While this works fine sometimes, it just didn't really make me want to continue that much. It's also a bit short, made it to the final boss in about 8 hours, I think. The ingame timer is wrong, though, it has counted the time since I started the game (193 hours so far)...

The sentence itself may be a bit weird but the statement isnt dumb, it's a valid point. Many of the games are found elsewhere so if you've already played them there, they don't really matter much. Then it's only nice for others to be able.to play them.

How big are the saves? Usually it's just a few KB, MB at most. It certainly is not a thing that you'd fill the console with and hence there would be no reason to delete the save files themselves from the Switch.

Almost there with Celebi, need to catch another 11 Grass or Psychics and that's it. But what's up with all the Kanto Pokémon at the moment? Please stop those events, I only need Tauros.

Not only you, no, others have mentioned leaks and it has happened during other Directs as well. It's getting harder to have secrets in an industry. I think that's about it. There isn't much to do about it, and it happens to everyone, unfortunately.
-
Isn't it a bit weird to complain that the Direct here didn't show much new stuff because you've read about all the leaks? Feels to me like complaining about a book not being surprising enough after having read a summary of the story. I liked the Direct. Even though some stuff had been announced or leaked, it still felt good to see what is coming. Along with the two indie showcases, this autumn is truly packed with games - at least when you don't play other consoles. I see that having Switch as a secondary console may put a damper on the gaming party but I don't think a lot of the people having it as secondary console have played all the games that are coming out. I don't care about Animal Crossing but Luigi's Mansion 3 is nice. Super Mario Party looks fun, NSMBUDeluxed is not for me (I have it on Wii U and an easy mode is not fun), Yoshi looked cute and better than Woolly World, I could see myself playing FFVII (never played an FF-game before), and maybe even Diablo III. Isabelle in Smash is weird, though. Who wanted her? I just thought she would be an Echo Fighter to Villager but no.. it doesn't seem like it.
-
I'm not saying I'd not want it for free - and personally I don't care about the retro-games at all - but at least it's really cheap. Like... it doesn't impact your economy at all unless you are super broke and then a gaming console is probably not a thing to own. Other than that, meh. I'll probably buy a subscription if I need it but for now, I'll just wait until I actually need it.

Oh, that sucks. They really don't want to talk about Online, do they? Too soon? Sorry.

I'm desperately looking for the Field Research Quest that gets me Spinda before it disappears. Got Miltank the other day so that's good but yeah, Spinda is still missing. Today I spun 19 different stops without finding it. Also got to the 6th Special Quest where I need to evolve two Pokémon with items and I only got one. I could evolve Sunkern and Poliwhirl but haven't got them. And then I need Candy for the rest. Sucks big time.
-
Ah, yes. That was useless.

Did Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze add anything new? Would be awesome with a new Direct. I would also like to see some big games coming out, though I'm more than enough occupied by the indie yes that are out and coming soon.

I got a gift card for this yesterday but it's just sold out everywhere I know of. And since it's a gift I want it physically. So now I'll just have to wait for it to show up again.

Dragalia Lost (Mobile) & Cygames’ partnership with Nintendo
MindFreak replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nothing about a European release? Seems a bit weird that both US and Japan get it on September 27th while there is no word of a European release. -
Today is my last day at my current work. I have got rid of every task and cleaned up my desk so now the waiting game for my farewell "party" later today. I'll start my new job on Monday. I'm excited but it's also a bit sad that I'm going to leave now. I've spent 5 years with these people and I've grown to like most of them.

A Direct airs tomorrow morning at 4.30 AM (UK) and contains information about the game. It will be out on September 27th in both Japan and US so no reason that it shouldn't be out in Europe as well. -
Nindies Showcase Summer 2018 (Tuesday August 28th 5PM UK)

Played Bastion when it came out the first time, it's an awesome game, highly recommended. I haven't played Transistor but it is supposed to be good. May pick that up. Also, Hyper Light Drifter is out next week, Towerfall Ascension September 27th. Those are good games, I've heard. The goose game looked weirdly fun. Then there were a few games I've never heard of. They could be promising. -
Due to this thread I fired it up as well. I think we've seen about 6 or 8 episodes now. I miss a story, every episode is just separate but I hope that comes along the way. It's good fun but nothing spectacular but I find.myself laughing a couple of times each episode so that's good. And my wife enjoys it, it's lightweight enough for us to actually watch a couple of episodes even though she's tired at night.
