From that description, it sounds like I should move this game up on my priority list... Thanks for the early impressions!

Wow, something came up! My Little Po-kémo-ny, I guess.

What Will You Be Buying & Playing Before The End Of The Year?

It has a "winter" release window so I guess it will probably come out in January or February - even though we don't really have anything for December yet. -

Sorry to add to your list but if you love the series, then you should also consider the remake that's coming to Switch this year. -
So it's a wildlife cam.. that's a good idea except that they should have called it that instead of a stream.
-
What the f.. is that?

The Pokémon Company has issued an official statement: Also, The Pokémon Company is hosting a 24 hour live-stream from a forest region in the game:

Just found this video with impressions and found it rather good: I want to try it out for a period of time to see how fun it is. Maybe I'll try to find it used in a couple of months.

More games for October. Did anybody need that?

Birds of Pray trailer: Looks alright but nothing spectacular. Will probably just wait for it to come to Netflix.

I'm about 18 hours in now, just arrived at Hamelin and snuck into the palace. And met my doom. Several times. I thought I was there levelwise, being able to handle most things but the miniboss in the palace is at the moment impossible to handle. I then saw that I had recently "evolved" a couple of my Familiars so they are very weak. Off to grind then! I do see the problems with the combat now that I have three party members. The AI is not really good - they never defend, for instance, which means they take huge amounts of damage most of the time, even with the All Out Defence-option. They also don't prioritize very effective attacks and such. It's a shame that it makes battles even harder and I have seen my downfall several times after getting to the island where Hamelin is located, partially also due to the fact that healing items are very expensive and I spent most of my money on weapons. It's also as if the developers wanted to make the combat fast paced and strategic at the same time, but then you have to go through a menu to find your attacks or even switch character to heal another character. If you then run out of mana without the right provisions, you are stuck. All in all, it's really not balanced all that well, which is unfortunate. One thing that I'm also missing is a quick travel option as some of those errands demand me to go across the entire country on foot. However, I do enjoy the game very much. The story is really enjoyable, as is the cast in general.

Transistor is quite good - the combat is very interesting. It's very short so the 90 % off is a good deal, though it's meant to be played several times. Bastion is also priced ridiculously low right now so that's a no-brainer, really.

I played it recently and it still stutters and has performance issues. Nothing game breaking, though. However, I didn't enjoy the game as a whole but that's another matter.

Apparently, you are racing other people's ghost data. This also makes it possible to race while offline. I think I managed a few 1st places and a third place at some point. But I see that the requirement for getting 5 stars increase little by little.

Played it last night for about 20 minutes. I find the controls a bit wonky, trying to just adjust the kart a little often resulted in a small drift and then trying to correct that would again make me drift - just the other way. It's also not possible to fire items during a drift which is a shame. I also found that I couldn't control how sharp my turn would be but I guess that's just down to experience and adjustments. Other than that, I actually think the game seems fun. It seems totally possible to play the game and enjoy it without paying.

BoJo? Never heard that. But unfortunately, someone was faster than me with this: Brexit is pure comedy. For an outsider, at least.

I'm at 151 for Kanto (got there last year), 99 for Johto (just need Heracross), Hoenn is at 130 (missing Kecleon,Relicanth, Torkoal Regirock (never got him in the Research Breakthroughs!) and Jirachi - the necessary spawns disappeared), 89 for Sinnoh (missing regionals and legendaries and the evolutions of Gible), and only 9 for Unova.
-
Yes, some of the chapters take that long. I assume you can do them faster if you don't care about side stuff, though.

Got this a day early and played it for three hours yesterday, which is a nice amount of time to get it properly started. Got to the point where the cat gave me a wand. Overall, the game runs well, no frame drops when playing, though the cutscenes do stutter a little from time to time (but I've seen this is some animes from Studio Ghibli as well so I'm inclined to believe that it's just laziness from their part). The visuals are very nice, colourful and vibrant and sound is good. Gameplay-wise I have wandered a bit about in the overworld which, as someone else mentioned, seems a bit empty. This is not a problem in towns and other places, but yeah, it's not the most inspiring place to go adventuring. Then we have the smaller areas. They work really well and there seems to be enough to do. Battles, though. I do get the criticism. Once you have more than one familiar, you have to switch between them and then Oliver in order to heal. I think it works alright but it takes some getting used to. The story seems heavy and meaningful, again it reminds me of an anime. That's great. I do wonder, though, if it's all just Oliver's imagination.... I'm looking forward to playing more.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening REMAKE — 20th September 2019
MindFreak replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Generally, reviews are very favourable and luckily, I'm rather alone in thinking that this is a weak entry in the Zelda-series. I ended on 6 / 10. My issues in list form (contains spoilers to some quests): I did enjoy much of the game, mind. It's just that as a modern game, I do think it has some frustrating shortcomings that soured my experience. -

If you enter a small cave in a screen, they respawn when you get out. You do that a lot of times just to check the cave out only to find that you can't progress into it. I'm not saying they should respawn but I felt the timer was set way too low. -
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening REMAKE — 20th September 2019

This is my first real playthrough of LA. My first Zelda was OoT on the N64 followed by MM and WW. Then I played ALttP and enjoyed it. I've also played Oracle of Seasons and I actually think I played Ages on 3DS at some point, and enjoyed those but I expect the same problems would apply to these if they were remade. As @Glen-i says, it's really apparent that it's a Game Boy game and they have done nothing to recreate the game as a modern game. Just the fact that they've kept screens and not a fluent overworld and that everything resets all the time is making the game and traversing Koholint Island tedious, you have to take out the enemies again and again and again. However, I could live with that but the many of the dungeons are just not very good or logical. Not all, though, the first four are fine albeit small. The bosses are really easy, though. Like... After having 10+ hearts, you don't care about damage. -

New short trailer: Embargo lifts tomorrow at 2 pm CEST. I gotta say, though.... this is probably the worst game in the Zelda-series that I have played (I haven't played Zelda and Zelda II though). I'll elaborate tomorrow after embargo lifts but most of my criticism is probably just because it's an old game with a different approach to game design and how to create dungeons that are fun. -
This is the only leek pun that is worth it:
