What Will You Be Buying & Playing Before The End Of The Year?
MindFreak replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
My list has thinned a bit now that Ni no Kuni is over and done. I'm getting Luigi's Mansion 3 tomorrow and once I'm done with that, I will either go to Pokémon Sword or get Ori, Yooka-Laylee, or A Hat in Time. I should be able to finish two of those before the end of the year. But I have it all planned out. Next year is The Year of the WItcher 3, I guess. -
Nice review, good to see that the game is good. I've read other reviewers complain about the controls as you will have to use the right stick and the X or A button almost at the same time, which is hard... It's also the first time I've ever heard someone consider LM to be a survival horror game. I've seen it mentioned in two reviews now.

Yeah, do the one where he dies on the stage...

Reviews appear online in two hours! Looking forward to reading some impressions.

Well, there could be a Direct coming but I don't really think we'll get a proper one before January. If we get something, it's most likely a Pokémon Direct.

There is a tournament at my work on Tuesday in this. I haven't played since last year but have been playing MK Tour over the past couple of weeks. It was a bit strange coming from Tour to this as the speed difference on 150cc is quite big. And then there's the timing of Rocket Start... But finally managed to get 3 stars on all cups in 150cc today while training. It only took me what, 6 years? Last year, I got a second place in a crazy close race. The guy who beat me has left the company now so I hope to get first place this year.

And done! I went to the final part of the game yesterday evening, grinded a bit of Totocold or whatever it's called (took quite some time to make one appear but then I got three) and went to the final boss. The first part of the boss nearly beat me, as I was suddenly having two fallen allies and almost no time to wake them. But the next two phases were fine but slow. Overall, it's a really good game with a great story and atmosphere. The familars are so-so, I didn't really care about them and didn't really want to catch the ones I missed. The battles had their faults, they tried to be a mix of real-time and turn based and it just didn't really work that well. Often I found that the enemy's attack was too fast for me to take a defensive stance or I had just started loading an attack as well. It made me feel like I wasn't in control. Furthermore, the AI definitely had its problems: I quite often found that Swaine wasn't attacking at all, just standing there and watching. I also made the mistake of giving both of them tanks (Lumberwood and Monolith) and they always switched to those during battles even for regular enemies - they dealt 1 HP damage per attack. They also drained their own mana which I of course could disable but that was also problematic because sometimes I would actually need their mana. Overall, I think the game would have benefitted from giving the player more control in a quieter setting somehow but I understand the need for distancing from Pokémon battles. Furthermore, i think the game could have ended after beating Shadar. Last, I experienced some errors (maybe 8-10 in the 50 hours I spent with the game), causing the game to close. I seldom lost more than 10 minutes of game time but at one occasion I lost a familiar I had catched that wasn't easy to catch. I hope this is addressed in an update but I don't think it will be. Despite these niggles, I enjoyed the game very much. I even did most of the errands and bounty hunts because I think the rewards for doing so were good. If you want a good JRPG - that isn't as long as the usual - this is a good call.

This is probably why they didn't have time to include all Pokémon:

Mario & Sonic at the 2020 Olympics (Switch)

A demo has just been released on the European eShop. -
Is every Pokémon represented in that video, though? One can only presume that those appearing in the video are included in the game... Someone has to count.

This releases on February 20th in Japan - a new trailer confirms this: Also, an informational live stream about the game is being held on November 4th.

I beat Shadar this weekend but I'm feeling the fatigue setting in now. I really should finish the game and beat the true final boss but I hope that I don't have to grind too much to be able to defeat it - I'm currently at level 60, ish. I also don't know if I should include the new party member on my team or not. I don't like Swaine but don't want to spend time levelling the fourth member...

9/8/8/8 from Famitsu.
-
Yeah... never going to complete that.

Busy day! Got a Chandalure, a Durant, a Darkrai and a Conagrigus today. Furthermore, I hatched a 96 % Chimchar from an egg, so it's ready for CD in November. I also found a Golett the other day but they are really rare. Would love to hatch or catch another one so it has a decent amount of Candy before this double Candy event is over.
-
I'm curious about that as well. The first game was really short but I don't think this will be as short as that.
-
Sweet, got a Litwick in an egg yesterday - awarded me with 56 Candy for it and have thus reached 102 Candy. And I even have two Unova stones now so one for Litwick and one for Pansear.
-
Oy, you haven't read my comments then.

I've decided that if I don't get to review this, I won't be getting it on this side of Christmas. I'm just not convinced that the Maxing tihng won't ruin the game completely for me.
-
Glad someone got it!

It's exclusive to those with Let's Go, Pikachu-save data but it won't remove the Pikachu from said game. There are other Pikachus in the game (Sword / Shield) but they won't be able to go Giga.
