  1. Probably won't bother with this part of the game. Didn't look that good (and I don't have Gold).
  2. I thought it was about photos of meat. Imagine my disappointment.
  3. How about Blast Corps then? That wasn't the typical Rare game.
  4. It was too hot for a proper workout today. Tried to squat 6*5 but after 5 sets I just couldn't do another. However, I had already biked for 16 minutes in HIIT-style so I believe that was a factor too.
  5. I'm not thinking too much about it, I know it's working as I've grown stronger (heck, two reps overhead press at 40 kg is one more rep than my previous record!) but I just find it weird that I feel more exhausted after leg days than after upper body days (even though I rarely divide them in that way). But having said that, my delta muscles and trapezius are sore today so I most have done something right - I know, lack of DOMS is by no means an indicator for a bad workout but it just feels more right.
  6. I can't really seem to actually tire myself when training arms alone; Sunday I did some push press and cleans and while I couldn't go on after my 6x5 reps (45 kg on pp, up to 60 kg on cleans), afterwards I don't really feel much tiredness in my arms or shoulders, whereas when I go full load on my legs (squats and deadlift) I can feel it afterwards (and the day after). Today I did 3-3-3-2-2 overhead press (3:35 kg, 2:40 kg, my overhead sucks) and 6*6 floor press (45 kg) and cleans (60 kg) and was tired at the moment but now, four hours later, I don't feel that nice tightness in my arms, as opposed to four hours after having squatted. It's just weird.
  7. This is awesome. Can't stop smiling. That is perhaps the most frantic and random idea I have ever heard of.
  8. I don't think anyone actually wants to grunt.... I don't want to but when it gets heavy and during the last reps, well, I probably grunt. But in relation to music; it just doesn't do anything to me. I don't get motivated by hearing Eye of the Tiger. It doesn't work on me. Music rarely touches me at all. Sure, there is good music and bad music and I get tired of listening to the same (bad) music in the radio. Nothing spectacular there. But I don't really enjoy music much and therefore I don't really see why I should listen to something when running or lifting weights (I only do it while biking because it's boring) and whilst running I actually prefer being able to hear my surroundings so that I don't crash into something I didn't hear coming. I also don't get people listening to music whilst biking outside - it's just dangerous and they don't hear my ringing when I want to go past them!
  9. What the ...? They've apparently removed the picture again.
  10. Ellen Page isn't much taller than Dinklage.
  11. I do not run with music as my earphones for my iPod won't stay in my ears and I dislike the ones you actually put into the ear. Also, I find my earphone-cord irritating when lifting so I usually don't listen to music then, besides what's on in the gym. I actually only listen to my own music when biking in the gym. Then again, I rarely listen to music in the first place; almost solely while exercising and cooking.
  12. When are we likely to learn what this is? Next Coro Coro, due August 11th?
  13. It must be American, so October 9th, sadly, but if it means less interruptions during the season, then fine!
  14. That. Is. Awesome!
  15. I was at a job interview recently where they asked about my spare time and intererests. I mentioned gaming but also added that it wasn't just about playing games it was also investigating the industry, learning about it, and talking to other people about it and games. After that, they began scribbling something on their papers. I got the job.
  16. Harvest Moon with Pokémon?
  17. Looks great. But it looks like Batman has shrunk and become wider. He also seems more brutal. I like that.
  18. I should really buy a (decent) skipping rope; there is this perfect spot just right to my apartment where only a few people would see me (failing). I need to practice those double unders (and also, skipping just takes the breath out of me even though I'm in decent shape!).
  19. Wok is the way to go. It's easy and it tastes wonderful and is really healthy. Good. That's why squats are a bit 'dangerous'; if one fails and doesn't have a rack, it might fall down on oneself. I've tried it once before, when I first started squatting with free weights; I had a rack which caught the barbell but I tried to go for 5 reps of 85 kg and failed at 3, my vision blackened and I fell down, flat on my arse.
  20. Ouch. Did you have something to catch the bar or did it just fall to the floor behind you?
  21. Went for a run today for the first time in a couple of weeks. Wasn't really up to it, have had a very lazy Sunday while Saturday I was celebrating my girlfriend's birthday with her family, hence eating too much and drinking alcohol. Despite that, though, my run was a good one; 4.50 km in just under 19 minutes with stops that didn't stop the clock. I'm quite pleased with that. I do worry about my legs tomorrow (and a bit about my knee tonight as at the end I felt it tighten a bit like I've experienced with some runner's knee but hopefully that's gone tomorrow).
  22. I went to a pre-screening of We're the Millers yesterday. Better than most Aniston-movies, but Will Poulton is the centre of comedy. My advice: Wait for it to hit TV.
  23. Got 100% on my save file today. That was a nice game! I missed some achievements but I don't think I want to go back at try and get them (dodge kills and zip lines and (of course) chatterbox) - unless there are some good after-game spots to get them? The game was awesome!
  24. “If you’re going to wear gloves, make sure they match your purse.” - Mark Ribbetoe That said, I have considered it sometimes. I just find that my grip gets worse from wearing gloves and it doesn't help the hard skin below my fingers, i.e. like this: So I go bare handed. (That's not my hand, just a google picture.)
  25. Pew, back from the gym. It's 25° C outside so imagine how hot it was in the gym! On these days I often go to the gym between 12 and 15 as I can't do much outside without being roasted. Did HIIT today on the bike: 5 minutes of warm-up and then 5 periods of 20 sec intense cycling (400-500 watt), 40 sec medium (250-350 watt) and then 60 secs of resting (170-220 watt). It takes a lot of energy to do that. Went to the weights then and did some shoulder press and rows (5*5 @ 30 kg) and some heavy deadlifts (6*5 @ 2*110 and 4*115 kg). It felt so good. God, had I missed deadlifting. I love that lift!
