  1. That's the problem, you know it's gonna be riddled with microtransactions, and with it being online only, it's completely useless for me.
  2. I was so excited when I saw that you could carry 15 items from the start. "Oh man! What if the strange sack gives you 25 now? What if it doubles it to 30!?" Nope, still gives you 20. Kinda lame going down 50 floors only to get 5 more items now...
  3. Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.
  4. Just waiting for that official Switch 2 date, can't go leaking it beforehand if you're gonna be a launch title! Is what I tell myself as I sob into my pillow at night.
  5. What @Cube said, but Map Stations also differ in that they don't tend to show you everything, except for the Prime games. And as for the traditional Map/Compass, the same thing applies, it's not immediately obvious where they are, so you have to do some exploring of the dungeon beforehand. Naturally, the open world Zelda's suck, so the dungeons there give you the map and compass immediately. Anyway, to actually answer your question, no, I don't feel like there are any gaps in my gaming history, at least not as far as entire genres go. If I've not played something, chances are because it looks incredibly unappealing to me. In absolutely no way does anything I've seen of Dark Souls or it's contemporaries look fun. So I don't play it. If I want my attack animations to last a million years, then I'll play with the Great Sword in MonHun, which I won't, because that weapon is boring. Of course, there are individual games I want to play, @Dcubed's currently tormenting me with stereoscopic 3D Baldur's Gate 3, and I hate it! EDIT: Forgot to quote @drahkon, but 2D Sonic is a fine example of a concept (high-speed platforming) being an awful fit for the dimensions it's limited to. Playing 2D Sonic at any sort of speed is an exercise in frustration. Those games are better when you're not going fast. (Try Sonic Mania, BTW, it's great) Ironically, I think the 3D games do that concept better, because you can actually see where you're going.
  6. Simply put, it's a place in a (usually open-world) game that the player interacts with to reveal some kind of map feature. Have you played BotW/TotK? Because that's exactly what the Sheikah Towers are. The only difference is that Zelda doesn't then litter the map with icons showing you where any "interesting" gameplay is, like Ubisoft games tend to do. It's not always a tower (Xenoblade X's probes comes to mind), but functionally, they're one and the same.
  7. Thanks for that. It is excellent. That said, this particular part hit real hard. Yeah, this is completely accurate, and is likely the main reason why I don't really dabble with drawing, or browsing DA anymore. Because if people with crazy good talent can't emerge from the deluge of AI art, what hope do I, a person of middling skill, have?
  8. I know to people who don't play the games, Fire Emblem lords can blend into each other, but that's Roy. He's the only one with red hair, and he shouts "EEEYAH!" EDIT: Now I'm reminded of this image. Ironically, Roy's one of only two characters not named Marth here, so well done!
  9. I'm gonna assume that's just in the intro, probably for fighting Ganon at the start. Kinda undermines the whole "Play as Zelda" selling point if you just let people play as Link at some point. EDIT: Yeah, look back at that reveal. That fight against Ganon is clearly gameplay.
  10. It is in the GameCube version, so I assume the same is true here.
  11. That shooter is an absolute dumbarse. All they've done is given Trump an incredibly powerful tool to garner votes now. No, seriously, there's this image of him right after the incident and it's the exact kind of thing that makes for an iconic historic image, and a lot of Americans will lap it up now.
  12. Can't even get online now, so BowserBasher will have to take over hosting tonight.
  13. Theme night! 2 NSO Apps Required The three Starfy games got added to NSO recently, while it's available everywhere, not every game released on NSO is. So these 17 characters feature in games that either are only available in one region's NSO App (Pokémon Puzzle League in the west, etc.) or, like Starfy, is only available in Japanese (SMB: The Lost Levels) If you pick Pokémon Trainer, you are only allowed to use Squirtle Mii Fighters are not allowed Stages and items match the series that the characters come from. Format: 3 Stock, 10 Minutes FS Meter: On See you at 7:30!
  14. Here you go! For those who weren't here, BowserBasher is on the top right.
  15. A little more progress in the challenges done. Thanks! Haven't got to the point where it goes so hard, we'll have to resort to cheating with a certain glitch yet. So, @BowserBasher demonstrated this to me while we were playing through Special Agent. If you leave the Camspy right before this meeting cutscene, go to put the door decoder on the safe, and then immediately move the camspy into the meeting and trigger the cutscene, then the countdown until the safe opens goes on while the cutscene plays, so you don't have to fend off enemies. He also said that the "Speedrun" timer that unlocks cheats still freezes for this cutscene, so it makes it easier to unlock the cheat on this level. Neat! Of course, all the knowledge in the world doesn't stop you blundering...
  16. Seems like just @BowserBasher and I. EDIT: BB there with the cloak sniping.
  17. @S.C.G, you still up for some Perfect Dark tonight?
  18. So, what you're saying is you understood my understanding a reference? That's literally all I know about The Karate Kid, though.
  19. I understood that reference!
  20. I agree with this. It will have an effect on a lot of countries, due to how influential America is. Unfortunately, I don't expect that election to be as satisfying as our one...
  21. It's not that. A certain character appears in the third game as a cameo. I'd tell you, but I can't seem to get the spoiler tag to work...
  22. Right, It's Friday, time for some online NSO shenanigans. There's 3 of us here tonight, if a fourth is interested in Four Swords, then I'd like that. If not, then Perfect Dark it is. 8:30 is the usual time, but BowserBasher and I will be messing around on Special Agent co-op before that.
  23. Congrats on not including Mother 3 in that, like everyone else is stupidly doing. Anyway, what the hell, Starfy 3!? That scared the crap out of me!
  24. BTW, Starfy 3 has multiplayer minigames. So that's another one to add to the surprisingly solid GBA multiplayer lineup.
  25. Oh snap! That's great! I've always wanted to try these.
