Ah missed out there, I would've loved Animal Crossing, Mario and Pikmin at a bargain price. Anyone pick up more than they needed?

Planing? Is that like planking but you stick your arms out?

#01 - N-Europe: Let's Talk Games (Skyward Sword)
Shorty replied to Fused King's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Funnily enough, this game didn't really approach any of the issues I had with Twilight Princess, or bring anything that I had wanted to see in a Zelda game for years, such as a vibrant, believable, living overworld. It also had its fair share of immensely irritating features, repetitive bosses, Fi, or basic UI irritations like being told about a pickup a million times or being warned about my battery being low. And yet somehow, I absolutely loved it. Everything it did wrong was easy to ignore because the world looked wonderful, the gameplay was so much fun. I even loved the controls. Whilst the overworld was mostly weak and the lower worlds 99% devoid of NPCs, Skyloft itself was fantastic. It actually felt lived in, unlike most Zelda towns. Everybody had a home and a life and you really felt like Link belonged there. I loved the story too, especially Zelda's own part in it, and some of the reveals. -
Is it me or is toon Link's head even bigger than normal there? :p He looks like a bobble-head.
-
Yeah I'm starting to feel that, pre-emptively :p Only on the third world now, but just hit one of those always-moving-camera levels and worked through all our lives in one go. Still had a laugh but I got an idea of what might be coming Fortunately, getting a Game Over doesn't have quite the same consequences as it used to. It no longer means "you have to start again" and instead means "here, carry on with more items". They should call it Game Easier.

It's not there. All the jumps mentioned on the previous page are still there, but the triple jump is gone. Which is weird because it made its way into the 2D games but was left out of this one. And a shame because it was one of my favorite moves. I love this game, but in my opinion the one thing it's missing that SM64 had in droves has nothing to do with controls, visuals or camera angles. It's something much more fundamental, the sheer atmosphere of the game. The secrets, the magic. Remember the castle? Bowser's laugh? Jumping in your first painting? The way the level looked different each time you went back in? Finding a secret star that wasn't the one you went in for? The infinite stairs, the stained glass window, the mirror, the light in the lobby, chasing the rabbit, draining the moat... I'm sorry I've completely lost track of my point because I need to go play SM64 right now.

Seems to be £374.99?

I hope it's something bigger and better than Donkey Kong. DKCR was fun and all, but Retro are capable of so much more than revisiting the Snes era. God, the things I would do for Metroid Prime 4.

Lol, this comparison suggests that £500 didn't also get you 18 games It's not great value, but you're not meant to buy the games to get the rewards, you meant to get the rewards if you bought the games. Point being, the item is still essentially free.

Since it's an indie developer's first console game, I would very much imagine yes. British company, too A blog on the PlayStation site suggests it will get a nice reasonable price.

That looks great, not had a fun skateboarding handheld since the GBA THPS2. Also, I love seeing a trailer for a game for the first time just a couple of weeks before release

It's always recording and keeps 15 minutes. So that if anything happens within that time, you can retrieve it, edit it, share it etc by hitting the button. It doesn't automatically save that whole 15 minute block - when you press it you get an option of sharing a screenshot of where you are right now, streaming, or doing something with that 15 mins of footage. You could just save the whole thing at that juncture, I guess.
-
Where are you getting that impression? It seems to me that the general idea is for it to be available on most capable, internet connected devices.

It could become the mythology, right? I mean the ship's been there thousands of years, like since ancient Greek times. Maybe just one person got off that ship and couldn't find their way back. They hooked up with a human and died shortly after. They left behind a race of super humans who don't even know their own origin, but the people around them begin to worship them as gods. They decide to retreat to a secluded island and become mythology.

Nice, silver red and black in stock. Still kinda expensive, but better price than most. Link to help find them: http://www.gamestop.co.uk/SearchResult/QuickSearch/?q=dual%20shock%203&platform=2&priceInterval=3&rootGenre=30&variantType=1

Such a great product, but I wish it was just a little bit cheaper. Pro controllers have occasionally been £25 so it seems like a bad idea to settle for a third-party (ish) solution, one that requires batteries in the Wii Remote, for only £9 less.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Shorty replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Beat this, freakin' loved it. Fave Zelda game I've played since WW. Found hero mode a bit annoying so didn't want to tarnish the experience and moved on :p Never did figure out how to get that damn heart piece at the top of the mountain. -
You can also "hack" a laptop drive to fit if you happen to have one lying around, although you're limited to certain models - check this video and the description

The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]
Shorty replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
There's a Sword Art Online special fansubbed now. Not watched it myself so can't speak for the quality. -
From the sounds of things, you should return that PS4 before more things go wrong with it.

Congrats man Zoey spelt that way immediately makes me think of this one:

How would you define yourself as a gamer? Allegiance wise?
Shorty replied to flameboy's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'm just a gamer. My allegiance is to awesome gaming wherever it lives. Sometimes it probably looks like I'm defending Microsoft on these boards, but really I'm just trying to stand up to the Sony fanboy brigade. I grew up with Nintendo (NES), then Sega (Mega Drive), back to Nintendo (N64, GC, Wii), played PC games and the varying Nintendo handhelds all the while, then moved to Xbox 360 during Uni years, supplemented with a PS3/Vita. Just bought a Wii U, and over the course of the next few years, when the games are there for them, I'll probably move to the PS4 and Xbox One. It's pretty much all I spend my money on. The only thing I probably missed during years of "allegiance" of any kind, was a huge era of amazing PS2 games. So many great games passed me by from all over the globe, because I had an N64 and was not particularly interested in upping that to anything else (not that I would've been able to afford having both systems/many games at that age anyway). I'm making up for lost time now though! Ghostbusters on the C64 was the bomb. If I remember rightly, it had Space Invaders during loading (which was pretty great back when loading took 10 mins). That said, I have no idea how you were meant to beat it. I'd be making money, catching ghosts, watching the Gatekeeper and Keymaster get closer to each other on the map, constantly driving past them to see if there was anything you could do about it, until eventually the Marshmallow Man showed up and started flattening buildings. Other C64 highlights for me: Rainbow Islands, Pang, Thundercats, Crack-up (breakout clone), Batman, Bart vs. the Space Mutants. -
What happened with your old 3DS? My battery is packing in, and frankly I'm looking for an excuse to upgrade :p

To this day I swear that before the movie came out, I saw some footage on TV which never made it into the movie, and I've never seen since. It was the Black Ranger, in movie getup, wielding his axe (which was definitely not in the movie). It was during some kind of entertainment news show which aired during or just after kids' afternoon TV, where the anchors were puppets. At the time I was totally into Power Rangers, but I was only 7-8, I didn't even know what I'd seen. I watched that show every week from then on thinking that it would show more, but it never did.
