NSMBU is definitely the strongest 2D Mario platformer. Well... maybe after Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Land 2 and Super Mario Bros 2 and New Super Mario Bros (DS) and Super Mario Land and New Super Mario Bros Wii in that order.

Agree with your first point, disagree with your second point. Many modern RPGs handle that just fine by having the text say your name but the NPC say "he" etc. -
Happy Birthday! Buy yourself a Macbook Air to cheer yourself up :p

I can't see these working over here. On the US' grid systems? Sure. On British roads with sweeping side lanes, mini roundabouts, double mini roundabouts, 3-5 lane roundabouts? How the heck are they going to look right and know, during rush hour, when they've got time to get out without slowing the other person down? How are they going to look left and know that the movement there is ok, because it's expected and shouldn't affect you (but could)? Swindon's "Magic Roundabout": Roundabout at the Arc de triomphe, Paris (actually, if we could replace all cars with self-driving cars, that would actually solve the problem there :p) What about temporary traffic lights or rolling roadworks? I love the idea. My commute feels like a big waste of time, imagine if I could be working in the car or just reading/relaxing. But I don't think we're going to see these on this side of the pond for a very long time, if ever.

I'm at work today. Tesco buyers who got an estimated delivery date of Sat 31st, keep me updated! :p

If I hadn't played Tomb Raider, I would've caved too. Flink, get Resogun and Transistor too. If you were ever interested in Injustice (MK style fighter with DC characters) that's currently on offer for about £12.50 on PSN, Ultimate edition with the DLC.

Royal Mail's official line is "aim to deliver within one working day", so it's certainly possible but not guaranteed.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I want a really big, vibrant, alive Zelda in a world that is much more revisitable than that of Skyward Sword, and makes much more sense than that of Twilight Princess. But saying that, I don't find myself wanting huge RPG size worlds, like Skyrim or Xenoblade. As much as I love those, they're all about scale and would struggle to capture the Zelda "magic". And I don't find myself wanting voice acting of any kind either. It's just not necessary in the Zelda universe. It's not a case of a modern choice, it's a stylistic choice. That gentle "badum" when you hit A after a segment of conversation creates atmosphere enough for me. -
Screw that, I'm holding my breath until it gets here!

I'm almost ashamed that I didn't figure out what that would be before opening the spoiler tag.

I don't think the price is that great... It's been £339 with AC IV for a while at base.com, which you can't get for under much less than £40. At best its £10 cheaper than the typical bundle offer that's been around for the likes of Watch Dogs, CoD or Wolfenstein. But then you have to ask why this is on eBay when they could sell on their own site and pay no eBay fees.... Edit: Really the thing killing this deal is the price of games, they're all close to full RRP, Watch Dogs is £44 everywhere, AC IV is at best £36.16 at Amazon and it's 6 months old. If you're like me you want to start your console's life with at least two great games. And if they're not outstanding games, you don't really want to pay £40+ for each one.

Woah there, almost sounds like you're forgetting some staples of cinema here such as Captain America (1979) The Incredible Hulk Returns (with Thor!) Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I would literally text him the moment I had it in my hands.

I tried. Tesco just (within the last 30 mins) took down their £20 voucher so I couldn't do it :p
-
Both last Friday and today, I put a PS4 in an online shopping basket and then bottled it at the last minute :p

Yes, just you, and you are a terrible human being.

Maaaaan I'm getting non-shoptoers-remorse here. I might have to buy a second copy or something. I'm getting twitchy.

I actually put serious thought recently into buying a 15" MacBook Pro with a retina display. I don't need one. I don't even like macs. I just want one for developing on Xcode.... I'd need the retina display because anything else is too small (MBA 11-13" screen with no retina, basically a netbook, no thanks). They cost about £1600 though, so realising that it's about 1% of the cost of a house around here put me off a bit.

Getting favourable reviews, maybe not the "killer app" people were hoping for but definitely up there Eurogamer 7/10 (Eurogamer Italy gave 9/10 though) Gamespot 8/10 Polygon 8/10 IGN 84 Most criticisms are about it being buggy.

This just occurred to me, will this game need Motion Plus? I only have one of those... Nah, N-E's been going since the N64 era, back when we were balls deep in amazing games on the "fastest most powerful games console on Earth". Back then we were all positive :p

Seems a bit optimistic on a bank holiday :p I'm doing that usual "regret buying it from anywhere other than ShopTo just to save a fiver instead of getting it early" self kicking
-
Since I probably won't be rebuying The Last of Us or Tomb Raider, if flink's getting both of those that's definitely a reason to jump in sooner than me. I have resogun already thanks to PS+ and will buy Transistor on day one because Bastion was just that good. I'll also be picking up Assassin's Creed IV which I've essentially 'saved' for the next gen. I just need that one new, killer title at this point to tip me over the edge. I thought that was going to be Infamous but... not quite.

I almost bought a PS4 on Friday. Put it in the virtual shopping basket and everything. Money isn't really a barrier, I'm just fairly sure I'll find myself second guessing my decision if I'm not buying it for that one (or more) must have game. Bring on that Watch Dogs embargo lift, bring on E3, bring on Destiny... Then I'll take the plunge

Going out on a limb here and guessing Charlie was picking you up on the ol' syntax there :p
