  1. Didn't we do this already?
  2. This is representitive of their market share. 58%. Seems like Nintendo will be giving the other 40% to the large chain retailers, super markets and other major retailers in a roughly even spread. GameStation, Argos and Tesco will likely take up about 20-30% of the remaining allocations. With the finally 10-20% going to indie stores and online retailers. /me Educated guess based on the 360 launch. edit. Maths time! worst case scenario.. there's 7 million units before the end of the year (Nintendo says they could go to 9 million) Lets say Europe gets 2 million, 2 million for the US and 2 million for Japan.. and 1 million for everwhere else. The UK is a pretty large market in Europe.. no doubt the biggest so lets say we get 700,000 of those units. (300,000 for the 360) 60% of that is about 400,000 GAME group has 700 stores based in Europe. That's a 570 Wii units per store (average) by the end of the year. My local GAME store only got 115 XBOX 360s.
  3. GoldenJoysticks.. probably be better- Gonna be on ITV4 as a night of games shit I think Might be worth a watch. New Super Mario Bros was too easy, that is it's only flaw. Otherwise it is pure Mario heritage right down to the awkward save feature..
  4. DVDs use a finer laser that yo' average CD player can't detect.. it just comes up as a mish mash of undetectable crap. That's why a DVD holds more data on a same sized disc.. because the bumps and flat spots are so much smaller. I heard you can drill a 1mm hole in a CD and it won't skip because the data lines are so big.
  5. Edge says it's a winner I'd get it.. but I'm a child inside.
  6. Sony is better at advertising, they always spend more money. Thus Nintendo will struggle to get the spotlight. However there is a special edition of Richard and Judy on the 9th of December. I e.mailed the producers and their researchers are talking about doing a Wii feature. Richard and Judy being an area where many Touch Generations games have been marketed at the old demographic. Wii adverts will probably be too long, poorly paced and fail to show off how the controller works. But they are sure to intrigue and inspire curiosity whatever they show. Which is probably good enough to spark some hype.
  7. Had a go with a few others, Cool Boarders and Destruction Derby do- unfortunately both of these soundtracks are shite. Gonna see if I get any love from the Final Fantasy discs later.
  8. I liked this show when it was on T4, better than Hollyoaks.
  9. Nintendo refer to theirs as a 3 axis sensor.. I think most scientists do too seeing as there are 3 dimensions. Sony simple wanted to pull a dual shock.
  10. My only plausible theory on this is that Nintendo didn't want too much space being allocated to high quality sound..if developpers are pressured into making better sounding games on DVD then it might hinder the game's quality and size. It also lowers development costs no doubt. Personally if the PS2 can manage it in several great games then the Wii should be able to. But it is about accesibility. My guess is that less then a quarter of people would take advantage of it. I only know 1 person in real life with a surround sound setup.
  11. Suck my balls. I said I wasn't buying a European version. And also, that virtual console stuff is a rumour- half of the sources are currently saying it's true- the other half are saying bullshit. Under the assumption that the Wii will be region locked for VC titles then I won't be buying a EU Wii. And if I can't improt and play VC games from other territories in my own house then I won't be buying one of them either. Until it gets all mod chipped up. Don't act like you know shit about me or my opinions regarding HD gaming and he Wii, because you don't. I love Wii. But fact is- there are games that will be shit on Wii because they are not in HD. And if you read the first part of my post, I said the games are a pro. Dick.
  12. i agree with him, they take themselves way too seriously since the 360 launched last year. it is a shit site now.
  13. Pro - it is cheap in all respects. More exclusives. Cons - it is not HD or surround sound. Cons outweigh the benefits but I'm simply not in the position to afford anything else. I don't care about marketing, better products always generate word of mouth that warrants it.
  14. RedBook is hard to pirate, that's why they didn't have a problem with giving it away as an extra.
  15. TY, I will be picking up a copy of Jet Set from my Cash converters.. should be much cheaper than the £20 or so it is for one of the OST's of eBay. PRO.
  16. Just found out that if you pop the PlayStation disc WipeOut into your CD player.. skip to the next track you get the entire soundtrack in great quality. Hardly anything written about these discs on the internet. Anyone know any other games that do this? Google has got nothing on this so called 'RedBook' format. I am hoping Gran Turismo does.. not sure if this will work for DVD based systems, but certainly could for Saturn and other PlayStation games. If you see WipeOut in a bargain bin I recommend getting it solely for the soundtrack.
  17. What's done is done, let go. Leave it alone and don't regret it. I think this 'journalist' is looking for an edgey stance.. something to make a reputation on. If mainstream media said Wii would suck. Then this guy would probably say Wii will be a winner. He's not biased.. but has a vested interested in what he is saying for the future of his career.
  18. Rerun tonight on C4, double bill in about half an hour. For the cheapos who only want to watch it once. Think this will be episodes 3 and 4.
  19. Hours travel for minutes on the Wii. Nah.
  20. Freeloader for Wii? interesting.. Might import still.
  21. Chris' chick is quite hot actually. I seens her in his display picture.
  22. Tell me Something Korean remake of Se7en, and I have to say despite the language barrier it's probably more accesible to you all. Free on Film Four tonight.. getting a rerun later in the week it rounds up Film Four's Korean season. The film is less farfetched.. there was some really weird detective work and quite a complex plot for the average film goer.. this is more accesible by making the detective work more believable. There's more blood too, but Fincher's gritty style that made him a master of film is still in tact. It's quite a bit better. While Se7en was an absolute classic with an all star performance from Kevin Spacey. This film totally rules. It'll be a late one, but I honestly urge you to check it out.. and stick with it. It's not as narrative intensive as Se7en and there's less character rivalry- perhaps that's a culture barrier I've been oblivious to by their body language. If you liked Se7en definitely check it- it's not too repetitive and you will appreciate the references. If you are up for a gritty crime thriller and haven't seen Se7en (Why not!) then check it out. Much deeper than your average kack. 8/10
  23. the internet is no way to broadcast your made up lifestyle to others in the hope that someone will believe you. oh wait it is. i had sex with cameron diaz. she was into biting which was quite pleasant.
  24. If a disc is perfect nick, and returned 26 days later with receipt. Will you be able to get a full cash refund? You mentioned being able to seal discs back up for sale. Obviously faulty is going to be a ridiculous excuse.. games are rarely faulty.
