Goron_3 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 1. Unless someone's doing an offer, Credit/Debit card over the Wii Shop Channel. I've heard woolies sells 2000 points for £14 2. It should work, no problem. 3. F-Zero - 800 points Paper Mario - 1000 points Toe Jam & Earl 2 - 800 points Streets of Rage II - 800 points. So 3400 points. So you'll have room for a NES of TX16 game. Cheers Cube
antster1983 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Tonight's new games: Devil's Crush (Turbografx) Kirby's Ghost Trap (SNES)
Teppo Holmqvist Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Kirby's Ghost Trap (SNES) Ooh, hilarious... It is basically Mean Bean Machine with new coat of paint.
Tyson Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 I've got Kirby's Ghost Trap on my Snes, and yes it is, except Mean Bean Machine was a bit better looking.
antster1983 Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Today's update for the US: Star Soldier (NES) Dynamite Headdy (Sega Genesis) Drop Off (Turbografx-16)
Hero-of-Time Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 So its our first VC batch of the month and if the pattern keeps up it will be Megadrive Friday again. Im hoping we get either Shining Through the Darkness or Shining Force. Looks like the trend continues and I got at least one of the games I was after! Mega Drive/Genesis Dynamite Headdy Shining Force Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master TG16 Drop Off
Hero-of-Time Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Is shining force any good? I have only played the 3rd one on the Saturn and it was fantastic. They play just like the Fire Emblem games.
darksnowman Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 I had no idea what kind of game it was til you said Fire Emblem there. I was gonna check out a few reviews regardless on all of the VC updates as I know none of them this week, but... a Fire Emblem type game? Consider it on my virtual shopping list!
Hero-of-Time Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Over in Yankee Land they got these today. Wave Race 64 Adventures of Lolo Galaga Wave Race for us on Friday then?
Eddage Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I hope so, loved the Cube version so would like to see what this one is like! I've got some more time to play it now that Paper Mario is finished with!
Helmsly Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Because they no longer hold the license for the ads that where in the original Wave Race 64, they've been replaced with Wii and DS ads instead: I think thats pretty cool. Better then just leaving it blank anyway. http://kotaku.com/gaming/our-baby%2C-grown-up/wave-racer-64-now-has-ads-for-the-wii-286489.php
Hero-of-Time Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Some images have surfaced regarding the US VC. Both the original Metroid and Super Metroid were found so it looks like they will get these before or on the week of Prime 3.
Dante Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 This guy is crazy. Check out my list! Yeah, I know you all think I'm crazy, but I LOVE the VC! Friends can come over and eventually find all their favorites on one system, without clicking anything, on the big screen. Yeah, yeah, I know there's other illegal ways of doing this, but I think it's just so convenient to have a tiny little box the size of 3 DVD cases hook up to your TV and play all these games in their original glory. Wanna know what I have so far? Check it out! ***Nintendo...hurry with the freakin SD Card/USB HDD support to load games!** Nintendo Entertainment System (36-$181) Adventures of Lolo Balloon Fight Baseball Castlevania Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Elevator Action Excitebike Gradius Ice Climber Ice Hockey Kid Icarus Kirby’s Adventure The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Kage Lode Runner Mach Rider Mario Bros. darksnowman Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I see that we didn't get Waverace this weekend... but we did get Breath of Fire II!
Acidyl Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 this week: Breath of Fire II - SNES, 800 WiiPoints Galaga '90 - Turbogrfx, 600 WiiPoints Volleyball - NES, 500 WiiPoints
Ike Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 According to Gonintendo the US is getting Super Metroid in 2 weeks, and Metroid next week.
Pit-Jr Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 BOF II is awesome, hope we get it sooner than later too
ghost_zero Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 What about Breat of Fire (I) ? I could be wrong but we didn't get that one yet, did we? EDIT: As I never owned Breath of Fire II before, I have a question: Is it normal that at the beginning the whole town, dungeon and people are black and white (not the menu and the message dialogs they are coloured) until you reach some point - which is at nearly at the beginning you are on your way to search Yua at the black mountain - then everything is coloured (even those which previously were black and white)..?

The black and white bit is a flash back, everything should be coloured after you beat that bit. And no, we haven't got BOF1 yet :P
darksnowman Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 The black and white bit is a flash back, everything should be coloured after you beat that bit. And no, we haven't got BOF1 yet :P Yup, Ike's right. You just have to play in black and white until you get up to the forest and then everythings filled with colour... and the story progresses. I wouldn't mind Breath of Fire I and lets hope we get it at some point. We also could do with seeing Secret of Mana, Terranigma and all those games I can't remember just now.
UK Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Can Someone help me with the 4th level of sonic2? Just downloaded it- my first megadrive and sonic game ever. Doesn't hold a candle to mario world, though, the best 2d platformer ever.
darksnowman Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Argh, I keep dying in Breath of Fire II. I'm still pretty much at the start of the game, Bow is no longer with me and so I have to slog through battle after battle on my own... and theres only so far I can last on my own! I got up to the TagWoods and then died... so annoying. I got lucky fighting the giant Roach though, all I had was Bow as my main character (Ryu) Stev was dead. So as a last ditch attempt I used the FireRock I found in the Fubi Mountains and very fortunately for me, I vanquished the abomination a few turns later. Right, I'm gonna try to head back into the TagWoods. I suppose I should try to level up a bit... but battles are constantly against me, like I said, as there's only Stev in the party at the mo.
ghost_zero Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I also have a bit of troubles with the game but they are different nature... My problem is that if I find out where to head I still don't know where it is because I have no map or something like this that indicate that e.g. Windia is there Mt. Fubi is there a.s.o. Is there something I am overseeing (of course, Windia is clear once you were where the Colloseum is - I don't even know how that city is called because that is not written when you enter the city)... I am currently in Windia though...
