Supercube Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 As much as I agre that the missions themselves are very samey, I get a great sense of "must better this time later when I get better/more parts." The leaderboards are a great help for the longevity of the time you spend trying to fine-tune your efforts. It's not hard to get into the top 50 on the L.O.G. Choice levels. Once you have a better selection of parts by finding crates and, to a larger extent, by getting Jiggies, you can really go to ( Showdown? ) town with your creations and it's this aspect which you have to have a penchant for if you want to progress and especially fully complete the title.
Sheikah Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Because they didn't want to. What they want and what is sensible for sales (and overall customer satisfaction) is a different thing. And yeah, they're a business, they should have been thinking about sales. It's not a surprise that this game didn't do too well in sales.

You can do that? How do you unlock that feature...
Cube Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 You can do that? How do you unlock that feature... He's talking about using new parts with the non-L.O.G.'s-Choice challenges. You can't add parts to L.O.G.'s Choices. All you can do is make something different with the existing bits.
Caris Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 So Cube i noticed you have 1000G on this, are there any really hard achievements or are they not too bad? Also any tips on the multiplayer ones?
Cube Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 They're not too bad. I only had trouble getting the TT score on one challenge (but you can skip one TT if you want). As for the multiplayer ones. I'd just suggest using the parts in the crates with the ghosts on (you need the horn for it).
Jav_NE Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Does anybody have a good picture of Banjo in the tuxedo?
Guest Jordan Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Just hit 66 jiggies yesterday. Not really a fan of that Terror-thingy level. The previous level (the Olympics one?) was far better imo. Still, I plan to get atleast 100 jiggies in this game. Its far too much fun and dare I say it, far better than Kazooie or Tooie.
Cube Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Does anybody have a good picture of Banjo in the tuxedo? Will this do?
Dyson Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Still, I plan to get atleast 100 jiggies in this game. Its far too much fun and dare I say it, far better than Kazooie or Tooie. :| It's good but it doesn't stand up in the slightest.
Cube Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'd say that it's a bit better than Tooie but not as good as Kazooie (although Tooie is still my second favourite "traditional" platformer).
Guest Jordan Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 :| It's good but it doesn't stand up in the slightest. Bare in mind, I prefer Mario Sunshine to either of the N64 banjo games.
S.C.G Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Imo Banjo Kazooie > Nuts n Bolts > Tooie though tbh N&B and T are about equal, both have their good and bad points, but the original Banjo Kazooie? better than both easilly.
Dyson Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Bare in mind, I prefer Mario Sunshine to either of the N64 banjo games. Nothing wrong with that; Sunshine was a great game, I loved it too, but I do believe that Banjo Kazooie is one of the best platformers we've ever had the chance to play. I'm torn between whether I prefer SM64 or BK to be honest.
S.C.G Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Banjo > Mario 64 > Tooie & N&B > Sunshine "corrected"
Cube Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Banjo > Nuts & Bolts > Tooie > DK64 > SM64 > Sunshine Note: I love SM64. However, there's a massive gap between SM64 and Sunshine. As in I would probably even put Ninjabread Man ahead of Sunshine.
Cube Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 WTF! SM64 was and is an awesome game!! I don't think anyone here has said otherwise...
Retro_Link Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I don't think anyone here has said otherwise... Banjo > Sunshine > Tooie > N&B > Mario 64 Banjo > Nuts & Bolts > Tooie > DK64 > SM64 > SunshineI can see why Banjo might/does better it, but Sunshine, Nuts & Bolts and DK64??!! Anyways I suppose this isn't really the thread to start up such a debate, so I'll leave it as each to their own!
Jav_NE Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I love Mario 64, i just like the other games better. Even DK64 is probably fonder in my memory. It's not that they are 'better' games, just for me personally as i enjoyed them more and they stand higher in my mind.
rokhed00 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Can't say Nuts & Bolts is better than the previous games to be honest, but it still does have the same flavout to it, and I'm certainly enjoying it a lot more than the likes of Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3.
Dante Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Banjo > Nuts & Bolts > Tooie > DK64 > SM64 > Sunshine Note: I love SM64. However, there's a massive gap between SM64 and Sunshine. Retro_Link Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 WTF! DK64 was the worse game on N64. Agreed!
Sheikah Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Well, in all honesty... BK > SM64 > BT = Sunshine > DK64 = BK: N&B Note: I didn't like DK64. :p Banjo Kazooie is easily the cream of the crop, and one of the best games ever created. Mario Galaxy tops either Mario game probably, but for the purpose of this list I'd say Mario 64 is better than Tooie (Tooie was quite tedious at times). Sunshine was dumbed down a bit due to the ease of having a backpack to correct platforming mistakes - but then the backpackless levels made up for this a bit. I'd say I got similar levels of enjoyment from Tooie and Sunshine. DK64 is easily one of the most tedious games I've ever played. The fact that different coloured items would be spaced around a level and mixed with other coloured ones meant there was so much switching in DK barrels and returning to spots. Backtracking and just a general lack of magic usually present in Rare games made me dislike this quite a bit. Equally unliked would have to be BK:N&B. I've gone through all the reasons in this topic plenty, but put simply it is repetetive and broken (in particular weight problematic vehicles). That, and it (for me) just isn't that fun to play. Not anywhere near the original platformer, anyway. I loved the feeling of my character having abilities, rather than having to use vehicles for abilities.
