Chuck Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I'm looking for a HDTV to go with my Xbox360. I have no need for Freeview or for it [re-reading this i missed an imported word] NOT [lol]to be bigger than 27''. I know samsung is a popular make but there is a wide range of models. Can anyone recommend? Include pictures of your own if you wish.
Heaven Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 this is the perfect one http://tinyurl.com/n2fh2
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Yeah, this would be better off in the tech board. *waves magic wand*
Chuck Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 Black White (sexual) Which one will complement the 360? Black R72 26" or White R71 23"?
Yoochem Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Always go for the black one. Makes the image look better, trust me.
Chuck Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 got an LG 27'', hope it is nice, wasnt my choice, but should be amazing

Jon Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 How come (can get it for £360, hence my interest) Because it's not very good.
Chanser Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The Sony V2000 series! http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=KDL-32V2000&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=Overview&category=TVP+LCD+TV They go upto 46", lots of people recommend this series of LCD HDTV.
Dcubed Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The 360 now supports 1080p! (Just like PS3) http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/733/733658p1.html So if you were worried about getting a 1080p TV, worry no more! (Although it now means that if you want the best from the 360, you'll need to shell out more :p)
mario_jr Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Somehow I knew this was going to happen, which is why I haven't bought a 360. BTW this is in a way related to this thread, and I didn't want to start a new thread. I also am looking to purchase a new HD TV, but there are different kinds. What I mean is there some that are LCD and others that are Plasma, DLP (which is very popular with Mitsubishi), and then there is Sony with their X-something. So my question is which is better, which will last longer without getting "image Burn in" on the screen?
Marshmellow Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 All I know plasma gets image burn practically a billion times faster than LCD so basically if its for video games i recommend a LCD. I have an HD LCD only 24in but it still displays very nice.
Ashley Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Because it's not very good. Curse your breif reviews :p But seriously, ta.
Jon Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Curse your breif reviews :p But seriously, ta. I'm normally all for going into specifics about hdtv's, but at the moment I just cant be bothered :p
theguyfromspark Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Ok fellas, I've got a grand in the bank and want a nice HDTV, preferably 37 inches or bigger so i'm not downgrading on size from my current CRT, what does anyone suggest. I suppose at a push I could go a couple of hundred quid over a grand but would rather not obviously.
Caris Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 latest Samsungs are great, Panasonics are also good.
Sanchez Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 http://komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=322222 Ding ding But if you must have a TV.. http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le26r74bdxxeu.asp

I have an HD LCD only 24in but it still displays very nice. new generation plasmas last longer, up to 30 years with out getting image burn. And LCDs and Plasmas are about the same now in performance and price, but the Plasma can put out better Blacks than the LCD.
nicolasmasset Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Wait till the latter half of 2007 for the first SED tv's to roll out. Those are going to blow plasma and lcd out of the water! An old ign article about it: http://gear.ign.com/articles/679/679235p1.html
