RedShell Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Wow, this looks bizarre. I love the hand drawn art style though. Very nice indeed. Is it just me, or does that character with the white moustache have a rupee for a head!? And what's with the calculator? Hmmm… This better not be a maths game in disguise!

Calibur Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 So thats what Tingle looks like without his skin tight fairy costume on. The art style looks cool, but looks insane at the same time.
triforcemario Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 *Reads topic title, then the first post* n....n....n...........
Retro_Link Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 http://www.planetgamecube.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=11704 Tingle is a very polarizing character. There are very few people don't completely love or hate the... interesting Zelda character. Anyway, the latest issue of Famitsu has finally revealed some of the details behind the Tingle RPG, entitled " Mogitate Tingle no Barairo Happy Land" which translates to "Freshly-picked Tingle’s Pink-coloured Rupee Land." If the title and Famitsu article are anything to go on, this game is going to be quite interesting. Freshly-picked Tingle’s Pink-coloured Rupee Land
Sarka Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Haha, looks pretty cool imo. Nice art stly, elovely name and kick ass main character! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
seamus_aran Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Dunno if it'll make it to the rest of the world... first "main" Nintendo title not to in a while if it is.
Adrian DX Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Yep that guy does have a rupee for a head... and if i was him i would run because as we all know Tingle is a rupee stealing sh*t Anyone know why Tingle keeps stealing rupees in Four Swords btw?
gorrit Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Hah, so cool, I like the art style and right now this could develop into any bizarr game, which is fine by me
Dante Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Do you think this game is made by the same team who did Wario Ware? Because I thinking it will be a Wario Ware type in RPG form.
Mike Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I'm one of the few people who loves every appearance Tingle has made in a Zelda game, so I'm certainly looking forward to this. So glad it hasn't been canned! I love the art style, and I hope the name in the English translation remains just as wacky.
Kurtle Squad Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I'm one of the few people who loves every appearance Tingle has made in a Zelda game, so I'm certainly looking forward to this. So glad it hasn't been canned! I love the art style, and I hope the name in the English translation remains just as wacky. I just dont think he should have been in Minish Cap; him and his brothers had no place there. Whereas in FSA his role made more sence. I wouldnt mind if he helps Link out in PH though, since Link did save him from jail... And I also wouldn't mind seeing him in TP so long as his role is not like WW and his part is to do with the story.
Mike Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 And I also wouldn't mind seeing him in TP so long as his role is not like WW and his part is to do with the story. I'd love him to be in TP too. I don't understand people who say that he doesn't belong in a realistic Zelda, when his first appearance was in Majora's Mask. Speaking of which, I wonder whether this game's plot will be linked to MM in any way.. I'd love another game set in Termina.
Dante Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Now its called Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land. June 8, 2006 - Nintendo's Tingle RPG is no longer vaporware. Nintendo has at long last shared first details on the new DS offshoot of Zelda: Wind Waker, properly known in Japan as Mogitate Tingle Bara Iro Rupee Land. First, an explanation of that name. The title translates to "Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land." If Nintendo of America had translated Tingle's name as Tinkle (which is how the Japanese name is written in the first place), this would have been the best title ever. If Nintendo had further decided to make this game for the Wii, our work day would've ended early today (although it should be noted that the Japanese don't apply the same connotations to Wii and Tinkle that we do). We'll refer to the game as Tingle RPG from here on. In Tingle RPG, you play as the Wind Walker treasure specialist when he was 35 and single, before his transformation into Tingle form. The main character gets word that he ought to head out to a spring. He does so, and along the way, he comes in contact with Rupeeji, a name that can be translated to Old Man Rupee. Rupeeji tells the main character that by collecting rupees (which, in case you aren't into Zelda, is the currency of Hyrule, the kingdom in which the series takes place) and throwing them at the spring, he'll be lead to the dream land of Rupee Land. He accepts the quest and, through a magic spell, gets transformed into Tingle. We're not quite sure what Tingle RPG is all about just yet. Money will play a big part in the game, though -- that much is for sure. You'll have to give up money in order to please the members of town. You'll have to give up money in order to pass through gates. What exactly you do in town once those townfolk are pleased, and what lies beyond those gates, are mysteries for now. Tingle has a guide in the game, a girl fairy called Pingle (this name would've been Pinkle if Nintendo hadn't been shy with its original naming). Pinkle appears in a monitor in Tingle's house. Her relationship with Tingle is unknown, but it seems as though shell greet the hero at the end of each work day. Obviously, Nintendo's left us in the dark on quite a bit regarding Tingle RPG. The game is still set for some time in 2006, though, so we expect solid details soon enough.
