KingOfHyrule Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Let's assume that Japan will see the console first, anyone planning ahead and considering importing Revolution?
Cubechris Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 from the states maybe yeah. I imported a lot on the cube...
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 I would only import from America. But yeah, i'm thinking about importing. Europe gets treated like crap. However, the disadvantage could mean that i have the Revo for a few months and don't end up buying any games from the UK for ages. I'd have to either import the big titles or i'd have to wait ages for them to come out.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Sounds scary. You could possibly not be able to download games.
ndreamer Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 im waiting for the release dates and prices, i may end up importing it since games will be cheaper and ill be abble to get them sooner then i can in australia hopfully the revolution units don't have region protection.
Yoshiking Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I'll import if the difference between US and Europe releases is too big.
Owen Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Yep i may be, only if the USA release is like November and we don't get it till March 07. I can't download the games anyway i don't think until i swap my broadband because it doesn't seem to work with anything (DS, 360) Also isn't it region-free? therefore you could buy a USA revolution and play UK/USA/JAP games on it, or hasn't that been officially confirmed?
ultrajamie Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 i think nintendo is going to try and get it out everywhere this year so there'd be little benefit to importing really... also, even if there is a long (ish) wait - it's going to be out before xmas in the states and shortages are likely to mean hugely inflated imported prices - which is money i can spend on the games if i wait a few weeks. nintendo know that can;t just hand an xmas to sony and microsoft on a plate. especially when there current home console is effectively dead....
Hal_9Million Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I've never been too into importing myself, but if they made the console region free, like the PS3 is, then I would consider it more.
Nintendork Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Nah, not unless they try raping us with the price.
mike-zim Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Nah, not unless they try raping us with the price. agreed, thats all. yay christmas.
DiemetriX Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I'll import if the difference between US and Europe releases is too big. Or if it's region free. I'll atleast make the store i work in import one I imported my cube and I'm glad i did. I'm thinking about buying all the different colored Revolutions anyway :P
Pestneb Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I won't bother importing. World cup, summer in general will keep me occupied enough. plus things tend to pop up ontop of that, so I'm guessing my cube and ds will be superfluous to my gaming needs. Although I may need t alter any work time web surfing habits to avoid the hype machine.
Guest Stefkov Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 im not gonna import, i wanna go to a 'lauch party' ive never been to one before. also im in college by then so i can go to one, and even though ill need to wake up really early ill know ill have a rev and i can talk about it in school. or i couldnt go to sleep and play it all night. ive never really imported anything, until i came across ebay, the only things i have ever imported are AC:WW, pac-pix some mini minsh cap figurines and maybe some other stuff. also thered probably be plenty of ds games keeping me occupied during the time all of those americans and importers and japanese will have the game.
The3rdChildren Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Depends on the release dates, release titles and my income at the time.
Bluejay Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I may do if providing its region free, I have enough money at the time and that virtual console is guaranteed to work over here. So basicaly no, I probably won't import. I can wait.
mario114 Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I don't want to wait, but I am going to as I like the option of a garrante and don't want to be tied down to a differnt regions games.
ShadowV7 Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I really want to import it but the whole region-lock thing will be a problem if we get a US/JAP console
Kurtle Squad Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Sounds scary. You could possibly not be able to download games. I think it's been said that you can dl from any region...
ultrajamie Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 im not gonna import, i wanna go to a 'lauch party' ive never been to one before.. . what do you mean launch party? standing in a queue on oxford street with a load of smelly chavs?
