Slaggis Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Halloween (2007) So many things wrong with this movie. They tried to "humanise" (sp?) the killer. They tried to make us feel sorry for him which is crap. He was scary in the origonal because he seemed emotionless and just walked towards you with a big knife. Now he has feelings. Also, every killing seemed to start with someone having sex which was pointless. When he dropped the knife at the end I could have screamed, they had ruined Micheal Myers as a character. It was worse than the other halloween modern sequals, it just sucked. 2/10
Slaggis Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I was so angry! The origonal was such an awesome movie, and to an extent I even enjoyed watching H20 (I'll choose to forget resurrection). But this just sucked. Rob Zombie is an ass. Oh, I saw another movie last night aswell. Casino Royale Umm, what was all the fuss about? Yes it was better than Die Another Day, but it just ended up being a bit boring. The start was great but it just seemed to tail off a bit. Daniel Craig, even though he acted well in the movie, just didn't "feel" right as bond. There were some great stunts though. 6/10
Konfucius Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Betelgeuse What a strangly surreal and weird film yet very entertaining. The cast is good, the story is really extraordinary and the atmosphere seems somewhat like a dream. 7/10 Shooter Somewhat controversional and lots of headshots. I think Mark Wahlberg is very well cast. The story drags on from time to time though but the good characters are likeable and the bad characters are really bad. So it's lots of black and white but that only helps to enjoy the film. 7.5/10 Tremors A little town gets attacked by giantic worms making their way through the ground. The villiagers can't escape and therefore try to kill them and while it's supposed to be horror film it's very entertaining and has quite light-hearted characters and dialogue. It's one of those films which are just fun to watch if you want to relax your brain. 6/10
Oxigen_Waste Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 The Ice Storm Will always be the best Ang Lee film, as far as I'm concerned. I love the way that words aren't necessary to get the point across to the viewer. Now and forever: 8/10
Hellfire Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Betelgeuse What a strangly surreal and weird film yet very entertaining. The cast is good, the story is really extraordinary and the atmosphere seems somewhat like a dream. IS that a typo on Beattlejuice or what?
Supergrunch Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 IS that a typo on Beattlejuice or what? It's the correct spelling of the name of the star, it seems the film name is spelt differently.
Oxigen_Waste Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 It's the correct spelling of the name of the star, it seems the film name is spelt differently. Precisely... In the movie, he used the name of the star to name himself, since he can't say his name.
Slaggis Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Eight Legged Freaks I love this when it gets going. The cat in the walls, the spider behind the armchair and the masses of spiders at the end. It's suchn a fun movie to watch, and always makes me keep looking round for spiders after watching it. (Yes, I'm that sad) 7.5/10
Guest dynastygal Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Jackass the Movie 8/10. Hilarious. Even after the tenth time.
Guest dynastygal Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Gladiator...7/10 The less russel crowe says, the better his acting gets it seems. Putting an aussie in a spaniard role was incredibly silly imo.
mcj metroid Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 ratatoullie(if i spelt it right) This is brilliant I have seen every single pixar film in the cinema and this is the best one since monsters inc at least. plenty of adult humor and very different to what you would expect:) 8/10
The fish Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Gladiator...7/10 The less russel crowe says, the better his acting gets it seems. Putting an aussie in a spaniard role was incredibly silly imo. Which Aussie is a Spaniard? The Mask Very funny, even now ("look at that, it's exactly 2 seconds before I honk you nose and pull your underwear over your head!"), Jim Carrey is a really, really good actor in it, and Cameron Diaz is hot, to say the least.
Guest dynastygal Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Oh, turns out he's half Aussie, half NZ....odd. Anyways, Russell Crowe. He played Maximus who was from Spain apparently (called 'Spaniard' during the coliseum runs and footage of his family in their homeland represented what I'm assuming was rural Spain). But due to the actors accent being strong, it really wasn't convincing when he spoke.

Paj! Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Scream 2 I've been anticipating watching the sequels to Scream for a while now (saw the first one on TV a while back), and I wasn't dissapointed by this one. Of course it wasn't as good as the 1st, but it was a laugh, quite thrilling in parts and of course over the top and ridiulous. I love how it's set in the "real" world though. They actually know the truth about horror movies. 7.5/10
Slaggis Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Scream 2 I love this movie. The first is brilliant and this one is almost as good. Some great characters, some great deaths and some great scare moments. I also love the way the it manages to be a horor movie while taking the mick of regular horror sequals. 8/10
Paj! Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 *shrieks* Coincidence?! Or perhaps something far more sinister?
DomJcg Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Hitch awesome, greatly funny and i love all of will smiths films (i, robot...win) but eva mendes? i felt hitch was doing all the work and she was just saying no no no yes sort of thing 7.5/10 Halloween (Original) i saw this awhile ago but never found out the name, now i do know and i remember being concerned for the characters and even the people watching the film, however i was slightly concerned at how much it took to kill MM even at the end, after everything he still is alive, still it left for a cliff hangar, also only one sex scene, which was frantic and didn't lead t anything due to the dead body finding (which i have heard is more than the new one can say) 7.5/10 The Holiday overall a good film really, but i feel jack black and kate winslets relationship was unfocused and eclipsed by kates relationship with the old man, but i loved jude laws and camerion diaz's one was truely well done 7/10
Hellfire Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Rush Hour 3 Ah I missed those 2 crazy bastards. They cut down on the action since Jackie is getting old, but the dialog is incredibly funny! I really laughed a lot! Some bullshit scenes here and there, but really, who the hell cares?
Daft Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Resident Evil: Extinction Not bad but not great. I think its better than the second one, (I know, not hard!) it has some pretty cool bits. Oh, and Ali Larter plays Clair Redfield!! Its not really a Resident Evil film tbh, its should be called "Milla Jovovovovovockalockalockaoghghgockavich kicks zombie but with vague references to a video game....3" Its a cheap fun film to watch....good for a lazy Sunday afternoon!! 6.2/10
Noodleman Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Superbad: Super awesome, the film American Pie wishes it was. McLovin :awesome: 8.8/10
Happenstance Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Spider-Man 3 - 6.5/10 Well all the dvds that I ordered came finally after the post strikes. I still enjoy most of the movie but id love to know what they were thinking when they turned Peter emo and came up with the dance number/Travolta scenes.
Paj! Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 It's hardly emo. I think it was quite good the personality/hair thing, and the dance thing could have worked if they made the reactions to it more realistic. Also, there wasn't enough action or enough venom.
