I was expecting something totally different and therefore was very impressed with this. The story is told in a very good manner and it clearly caters for an audience that can think for itself - so I assume it wasn't very successful.

The acting is very good as well and I really like the dialogue and how the messages are brought across.

I really liked Thank you for Smoking too, thought the lead was quite good for a change. Usually he is utterly shit hence why I've forgot his name.

 

Recently I seen Hostel Part II and thought it was utter bollocks.

No real story behind it, so many loose ends that could have been expanded on but it just turned into another boring gore-fest.

 

Shame because I had high hopes at the way the first one ended. 3/10

Starts out very weird, but it has a very interesting story. It also feels very Tim Burton-ish. Quite nice.

Very cool and very stylish. A long film, but I never took my eyes off the screen to look at my bedside clock, it managed to keep my attention throughout. Will defintley watch again. Great performances by everyone!

I thought Shrek 3 was far funnier than the other two. I can't remember who, maybe someone from the New York Times, can't remember -- someone said it's a kids movie that doesn't want to be, and that seems like a fair assessment.

Really builts on the strength of the first film but the solitude in the first produced much more tension. To take different actors was a good choice, it added to a fresh feeling and I also liked how the military was portrait, they didn't seem like a bunch of morons like in some other films.

However I think they concentrated on the action a bit too much (particularly in the middle part) instead of how people react under such extreme circumstances.

And why did they have to make it open ended? What's next - 28 years later, the only uninfected place is England because no one lives there anymore?

What's Hostel if it's not a gore-porn fest then? There's no weight to either of the films, just Roth seeing how many badly done effects he can shoehorn into his movies.

Probebly my favorite film of all time, every scene is great, acting is brilliant, gary oldman is un real. best villan in a long time, perfect ballence of recakless crazy and cunning clever. fatastic violence, great humor, puts such a human side to an assassin. The artistic vission is fatastic, especialy towards the end, I won't ruin it if you haven't seen it but theres breathtaking use of light and music in the penultimate scene.

 

easily a 10/10, if you havent seen it, look for it.

I just bought and saw Die Hard.. ha ha.. holds up pretty well.. some corny scenes though, but back then at least the hero was allowed to smoke..

I certainly wouldn't come that much if it was bad. One of the best action movies lately. Doesn't quite reach 300 but it's oh so awesome.

Die Hard 4.0

 

Wow! Where do I start. Now, i'm a massive fan of the franchise (bar the 2nd film) and I was very dubious about this film as far as the plot and how old Bruce Willis is. How many times can one guy really be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Well i'm willing to forget the 2nd one actually happened so that's 3 times now. To be honest though once it gets started, the action starts flowing, John McLains doing his thing, you really just don't care and it just becomes another Die Hard. I'm happy to say this film deserves a place in the franchise as much as any of the others. It's not the desperate cash in I expected and it stayed true to its roots. Kudos to the director for pulling it off. Also the characters along side him are better than I thought they'd be and the plot is just fine for a Die Hard film. It really says something when Hollywood needs to bring back characters like John Mclain to make a decent action film. It's like watching an 80's action film just in present day and I loved it.
