No Man's Sky

Recommended Posts

Some people are finding the space fighting quite difficult. Personally I just treated it like a fight in Battlestar Galactica, brake quickly and spin round and you can follow the ships. :D

Survival mode which makes base building a necessity? Could be a game changer. And since I didn't get the Platinum before trading my copy in I'll be happy to give it another go. :) Ebay, here I come :D

Looking forward to what 2017 has in store for No Man's Sky. There's a lot of potential and the Foundation Update seems like a small step in the right direction.

I'm still very annoyed with Hello Games' silence in the last two months, but I'm willing to give them another chance on that matter. They need to be in contact with the community.

I'm part of the "I like/love the game" camp and I really can't wait to see what happens in the future. I do think the game will only improve and become an even better experience in the future. This update looks great! :)

I commend HelloGames for getting their heads down and working on this, despite all of the criticism that they received. I do hope that they have been listening, as painful as it must have been. It's not nice receiving the level of criticism that they have endured, a lot of which borders on abuse. I hope that they turn it around and that the game becomes more of a critical success for them and their fans.

I fully enjoyed playing the game, bu i'm not sure there's enough to get me to go back to it. Maybe i'll get curious about the base building aspect to it, but i feel i did everything there was to do.

In fairness part of the criticism when the game came out was they talked too much about stuff that was later cut so I think they've just become hesitant to talk about things until they're far more certain. Which should be obvious on the outside but hey ho, live and learn :heh:

Can't wait to jump back in once the patch has downloaded. Damn the combination of my slow Internet and PSN!

Man, this was the the update I was waiting for. I've got way too many games to play right now but this has definitely bumped it up the list.

Survival mode is hard! I can't make it off the planet, let alone get to my ship. It spawns far away and the cold kills me long before I get there and I can't find enough recources to survive that long. Deleted the save twice in hope to get a more hospitable planet but no luck so far.

Currently hiding a cave, waiting for the hazard suit to recover. Been lucky and found a couple of plants with Thanium, hopefully it will enough to survive the remaining two minutes to the ship.

You got the terrain-grenade upgrade? Bomb your way to the ship underground! :D

Glad to see survival is actually hard too.

No, because it's a fresh start. You have nothing on you beside a broken scanner and analyzer.

I made it to ship, but lost most of the stuff I had picked up after picking a fight with sentinels and losing. You can't recover your stuff in survival it seems. So now I'm protected from radiation, but my life support is less than 25% and I can't find anything to use to recover in the vicinity.

Sounds tough! Might just continue my game on normal and build base and buy a freighter. Got quite a few million credits saved up!

Managed to repair the thrusters by collecting iron, transfer it to my ship, die then rince and repeat. But I need heridium to fix the pulse engine and the closest is appearently 12 minutes away. I can't even make it a minute before I die. Everytime I respawn, life support is already down. No clue as how I can overcome this.

Start afresh and hope for a nicer planet? :santa:

Hmm. I think I'm going to wait to clear my current lot of games before I dive back in. I've got Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bioshock 2/Infinite, Tearaway, Gravity Rush and quite a few others to start, as well as current games that I'm already playing AND the PSN stuff to work through. I'm tempted to maybe start over and do survival mode when that happens. Hopefully the next update will be out by then, too.

I'm curious to see what happens next. They mentioned base building and freighters around launch time, but anything after this is new. There's loads of potential, tbh. Imagine if you could start up colonies and could recruit aliens to come and live there, for example.
