Dcubed Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 What did they mention regarding Oracles' link cable support? Are they finally emulating the GB link cable for GB VC games? Nice to see them offer a solution to play the 3DS version of MH3U online, even if it's a hacky solution (would've been much better if they'd just offer an update to the game itself, downloadable via the 3DS eShop)
-Dem0- Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 MH4 Trailer looked epic. Was that a new monster at the very end of the clip? Want to try out those demos now, looking forward to it!
Wii Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 What was said about the Oracle games? 3DS eShop downloads? Any chance of that coming here as well? Yes, 3DS eShop downloads. Feb. 27th, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons hits 3DS VC. 600 yen each. Get both games for 1,000 yen until early March.
liger05 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 If I can play MH3 online with the 3DS means I wont be getting it for the Wii U. That will do me fine.
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Wait, whaaaat? Monster Hunter 3 3DS can be played online? Is the WiiU version needed? Can you play against WiiU owners this way? This changes everything.
Serebii Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Wait, whaaaat? Monster Hunter 3 3DS can be played online? Is the WiiU version needed? Can you play against WiiU owners this way? This changes everything. From what we can tell, a Wii U is needed to connect online unfortunately
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 From what we can tell, a Wii U is needed to connect online unfortunately Yes, but do you need the WiiU version of the game?
Wii Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Wait, whaaaat? Monster Hunter 3 3DS can be played online? Is the WiiU version needed? Can you play against WiiU owners this way? This changes everything. Users have wanted to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate online on 3DS, enabled through the Wii U. This is now possible, but you have to have a Wii U LAN adapter.

Lens of Truth Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Oh, so I just missed this catching up on the PS4 stuff!! D: Did someone mention Oracles/Seasons??!
liger05 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Users have wanted to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate online on 3DS, enabled through the Wii U. This is now possible, but you have to have a Wii U LAN adapter. That blows. My router is downstairs. Just patch the damn game!!
Agent Gibbs Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 A lan adaptor? that sucks a little.....surely they could have worked out a wireless option.... but its cool it can be used online i suppose I need to watch the footage later i think
Ike Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 My router is downstairs. Homeplug. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=homeplug&sprefix=homepl%2Caps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ahomeplug
Dcubed Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 A lan adaptor? that sucks a little.....surely they could have worked out a wireless option.... Not possible sadly. The 3DS doesn't have a WiFi Direct chip inside it, just normal 802.11B/G. Ironically, the Wii U actually does have one but since the 3DS doesn't, it can't connect to it locally while staying connected online. Ethernet is the only way - it's the same limitation that plagued the PS3's Adhoc Party app.
Retro_Link Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Homeplug. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=homeplug&sprefix=homepl%2Caps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ahomeplug How have I not heard of these before?!! So you can have your wireless hub plugged into the phone socket upstairs, but these plugged into any socket to have a wired connection in every room?! Is it as reliable as having wired sockets throughout the house?
RedShell Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013  I really hope we get the 3DS version of Tomodachi Collection in Europe. No BS excuses about voice synthesis this time, Nintendo! Even if it's only released as an eShop download, I'll happily give you the inflated RRP to play this game!! Anyway... Monster Hunter 4 sure looks impressive! Multiplayer in particular seems insane! I wonder when we'll be seeing it in Europe. I'm guessing it'll be next year. Spring 2014, should give everyone enough time to playthrough MH3U... just about.
Ike Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 How have I not heard of these before?!! So you can have your wireless hub plugged into the phone socket upstairs, but these plugged into any socket to have a wired connection in every room?! Is it as reliable as having wired sockets throughout the house? Yeah. I have one going up to my room and a cheap switch so I can attach multiple devices (laptop/Xbox/PS3/Bluray player/Wii/Wii U), they work great, much better than wireless.
Retro_Link Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 @Ike like one of these? http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-SF1005D-100Mbps-Unmanaged-Desktop/dp/B000FNFSPY/ref=pd_sim_computers_5 and then just buy a bunch of Ethernet cables?
Ike Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 The one I bought is this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000MGBOHA/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but that one will work the same. Just plug in the cables and away you go.
Hero-of-Time Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Just got around to watching the MH4 trailer. Ah, so many of the old skool monsters have returned for the game. Kutku, Khezu, Gyp....*wipes tear from eye*
