Daft Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Rayman Legends confirmed for PS3 & Xbox 360 release I hope this comes to Vita, too. It's the perfect game for a handheld, but I'd settle for just being able to play it on PS3.
Cube Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I see a lot of comments saying how this game is "impossible" without the GamePad. This will be lacking the asymmetrical 2-player local co-op (unless they try a Move/Kinect option...or perhaps Vita). Some people seem to think that this mode is the entire game. The single-player and 4-player co-op (offline and online) will have no problems.
Daft Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 I rarely play co-op because no one likes me, so I'll be fine. If they did cross-buy I'd jizz. Day one.
Captain Falcon Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I see a lot of comments saying how this game is "impossible" without the GamePad. The single-player and 4-player co-op (offline and online) will have no problems. There were some stories floating around a while ago about how in single player, you only played as Murphy throughout the entire game. Then Ubisoft revealed that you are only required to play as him for a tiny amount of the game. Personally, I wouldn't be playing the game to be swiping my finger on the gamepad - I'd want to be hopping and bopping through levels as Rayman or Globox. Ultimately, people talk a load of crap. When Ancel mentioned a new lighting system, internet twerps were banging on about how it was only possible on the Wii U. The only thing he said regarding the Wii U performance was that it was easy and they they weren't forced into scaling assets because of the extra RAM which meant sometimes they were using the full size/quality ones from the off. The original game will run a Pentium 4 - it's not remotely taxing any system in this day and age. It's fantastic looks come down to artistic skill, not technical merit.
ReZourceman Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Definitely hope this comes to the Vita. I just purchased Rayman Origins for it, as it was such an obvious fit and I cannot wait to play it.
Shorty Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) I know it's dumb but my biggest letdown in the last game was that both players don't earn achievements during co-op. Which is just... a really rookie mistake that you don't expect these days, as it was something that was complained about and eventually stopped happening about 5 years ago. Hope they fix it with this title as I get a lot of fun playing co-op and helping one another to earn achievements. Edited February 11, 2013 by Shorty
Josh64 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I got the original game on 360, it wasn't bad but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I guess I just got over excited from all the hype. Looks damn beautiful though, especially Legends. Will pick it up on U or 360 when it hits the £15ish mark
Shorty Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I've heard the first was infinitely less enjoyable in single player, which I can understand because it was basically one-hit-death, but you could be saved by your teammate.
MindFreak Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I enjoyed Origins pretty much in single player. I didn't really enjoy it in multiplayer but that might have been because I played it with someone who just wanted to 'have fun' and smack me about and didn't want to go explore and look after secrets and chests. That frustrated me quite a lot. I think it might have been more fun if I had already completed the game when I played co-op.
Daft Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Origins wasn't completely one-hit kill. You normally found a heart thing to protect you, like a mushroom in Mario.
dwarf Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 This looks amazing. Love how they've brought back the same obstacles and sprites that featured in the original game.
Daft Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 This has finally been confirmed for Vita. Good stuff.
drahkon Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Finished the Demo. It made me smile. Especially the music level. Soooo good. I actually keep replaying that music level!
tapedeck Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Is it the same as the Wii U demo levels? (Like having the Black Betty (wamalam) song). If not will download ASAP.

welsh_gamer Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Pre-order the 360/PS3 version for £26.99 at Amazon
Daft Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) Just pre-ordered it on Vita with Killzone and Tearaway for £69.99. Edit: And I changed it to PS3, after playing the demo I think I want to enjoy it on my HDTV. Edited August 23, 2013 by Daft
Sheikah Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I will need to get this on Vita. Loved Origins and got the platinum for it. In my opinion this game is perfect on the Vita.
Daft Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 I wouldn't mind playing it on co-op (the PS3 version has co-op, right?).
Sheikah Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Yeah the PS3 version does. One thing I didn't like though was that you couldn't pop bubbles with your fingers. :p Would be cool if they added co op to Vita.
Happenstance Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I seem to have lost all enthusiasm for this game. I was looking forward to getting it at its original launch for Wii U but since that got pushed back i just dont seem to care anymore.
dwarf Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Do want. Surprised it's retailing for that price though.
Daft Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Thought I wouldn't be bothered when it came round but I played the demo the other night and loved it. Kind of weird, I rarely play demos anymore.
Daft Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Only £25 on Vita...wow. Definitely ordering. Killzone and Tearaway are £25 and £20 respectively, btw.
