Ramar Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I got the old man a card with the promise of getting him a small gift when I get paid.
Magnus Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 ...well this is slightly more depressing than I'd hoped.. Haha, you should know better than to try to bring some optimism to this forum. My family doesn't acknowledge these things, so I don't need to get my dad anything. Whew! He doesn't deserve any gifts, anyway. *Is a horrible son*
EddieColeslaw Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I got my dad a Forever Friends card and a small book about growing vegetables from all of us. It has really nice old-timey illustrations and the cover is all posh and covered in some kind of fabric. I chose it because it's his dream to grow his own fruit and vegetables when he's retired
Mr_Odwin Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Esther knows I think this sort of thing is a waste of money so she went to town in annoying me (we're well suited). She got a card for each of the kids and then got them to make me another two each. I have two kids and got six cards.
Goafer Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Went to go and eat at Pawpaw, only to find that they had the whole restaurant booked for a Christening or something. Fucking religious types. Came home and Dad helped me fix/work on the car. It was proper special. We hugged and high fived once the car was started. Then we made a table out of wood or something*. We're just getting a Chinese takeaway in lieu of Pawpaw. *Everything apart from the car bit might be a lie.
Ashley Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I don't have daddy issues. I have adult-size man-to-man resentment. Anyway I sent my father a card and phoned to say nothing more will be coming because I don't have time (trufax) but will get something next time I see him. Lord knows what, awkward bastard to buy for. Was also instructed to send a card to my mother's partner on behalf of his cats. So there's that.
Jimbob Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Get my Dad the same present(s) every year, he knows it and always acts "surprised" when i give him his presents.
EEVILMURRAY Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Get my Dad the same present(s) every year, he knows it and always acts "surprised" when i give him his presents. Lube? Depending on how you give it him his surprise may not be an act.
MoogleViper Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Fuck me, I need to get some kids! Is that an instruction?
Goafer Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Lube? Oddly enough, I was in the loving room earlier and I spied a small bottle with what I thought said "Trojan" on the side. I almost threw up. The only people who live here are me, Mum and Dad. It's not nice seeing something that hints at mother dearest takes it up the shitter. Luckily it didn't say Trojan and it was just some sort of beauty product. Situation averted. Thank fuck.
nightwolf Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Haha, you should know better than to try to bring some optimism to this forum. I think I took resentment at being appointed as miserable member (I think I was 2nd or something.) and now I have brought the forums this and the best thing about your day. Take that! I bet I still get nominated..

Luckily it didn't say Trojan and it was just some sort of beauty product. Situation averted. Thank fuck. Yes but the fact you were in the "loving room" still worries me

Yes, because starting a thread where everyone else is miserable is so much better. :p Well, no one's been that miserable so far, but we haven't had any posts from any orphans yet.

Haha, I just thought it'd be nice to have a father's day thread as I do believe with had a mother's day one. Which I could have been miserable on myself! I don't know, I could still be called miserable *cough* jayseven and dan *cough*
Magnus Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I don't know, I could still be called miserable *cough* jayseven and dan *cough* Well, you did only get voted 'second most miserable member'. You'll have to try harder this year.
nightwolf Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Well, you did only get voted 'second most miserable member'. You'll have to try harder this year. Already have my man! Although to be fair I can be credited for the positive thread on here! Pssh. : peace:
Magnus Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Yeah, but who wants to go after the 'most positive member' award? You'd need to stay positive all year! :p
