Platty Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Could it be? apparently the US is in possession of Bin Laden's body after he was killed in Pakistan. Sky news and BBC news are currently reporting this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13256676 Good stuff if so. p.s. No idea why I am still awake at this hour. INSOMNIAC.
Pit-Jr Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Yay!?! Feels a bit anticlimactic after a decade + of hunting the guy
EddieColeslaw Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 "The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done," Am I the only one who thinks that sounds a bit...negative? i.e. don't do anything bad to America, or we will kill you? I hope there won't be any revenge attacks...
Rummy Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 This means everything is going to change now, right? No? Oh...
Adthegreat Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Honestly I don't see how this solves anything. It isn't as if Bin Laden was the only person capable of organizing terrorist attacks, and I don't think that killing him will persuade al-Qaeda to stop their terrorism. I suppose I can understand why people are relieved, due to a feeling of revenge or something, but realistically it doesn't seem like such an important event. Anyway, that's just my opinion, and maybe I'm too uninformed to be making statements like this, but that's what I think at the moment. Edit: The numbers speak for themselves: 10 years, 2 wars, 919,967 deaths, and $1,188,263,000,000 to kill one person. Edited May 2, 2011 by Adthegreat
AndyWylde Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I bet he regrets buying a PS3 and signing up to the PSN.
Serebii Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Well done America, you have very likely just made a martyr in the terrorist cause. Bravo. Killing him is just going to exact retribution :/
AndyWylde Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 He had to be killed sooner or later. Pakistan have protected him long enough. We can sit here all day and argue statistics but we all know the forces havn't been over there this long just looking for him. Good riddance!
Mr_Odwin Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I bet he regrets buying a PS3 and signing up to the PSN. *steals for facebook*
The Mad Monkey Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Meh, he's been dead for years, the Americans just found the body.
Ramar Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 This is the best I've seen on twitter: "R.I.P Osama Bin Laden - World Hide And Go Seek Champion (2001 - 2011)"
Ellmeister Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Maybe they did it by accident like in Trippoli, seems to be effective at killing high profile people.
The Mad Monkey Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Holy crap is that an Artichoke? Artichoke in mourning.
Ashley Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Good news I suppose. Guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. Has it been confirmed yet that the house was built by the Bluth Company?
ReZourceman Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Its a sign. Am I responsible for the capture and death of Bin Laden?
Beast Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Good news but, as Adthegreat says, it's not like he's the only one who can organise terrorist attacks. Where one dies, another will replace unfortunately. Maybe not now but at some point in the future, there will be. Meh, he's been dead for years, the Americans just found the body. No matter how or when he was killed, at least he's dead. Basically what I think...
The Mad Monkey Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Its a sign. Am I responsible for the capture and death of Bin Laden? Not unless your artichoke fetish has been secretly long running, he's been dead since at least 2007.
ReZourceman Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Can you folks explain this (died long ago) thing? I'm ignorant.
Beast Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Well done America, you have very likely just made a martyr in the terrorist cause. Bravo. Killing him is just going to exact retribution :/ Sorry, realised I missed this out in my post as well. I think this, also.
The Mad Monkey Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Can you folks explain this (died long ago) thing? I'm ignorant. Check the date on this video. She was assassinated shortly afterwards, coincidence?
