Hmm, not terribly impressed. I'm nitpicking really but I was sort of expecting 60fps (after Sonic 4) and this is meant to be Sonic in the past so why does he look like regular Sonic's retarded twin? He's never looked like that in the 16bit era.

Still, music is nice.

Hmm yeah that level does look good. Speed Highway with it's setting and running down the wall, is a little bit similar to City Escape though. But I'll wait to see how the remade level looks, I'm sure it'll look great.

Bit dissapointing there's only one level from each game.

Green Forest from Sonic Adventure 2 could have also made a fantastic setting/level.

I can see how they might be considered similar in terms of level design with the city based landscape but they always gave me completely different vibes when playing and I'm glad they are both in.

But when you look at the level list in general, City Escape, Speed Highway, Crisis City, Roof Top Run... they are all city environments. The background for Chemical Plant is also a a cityscape. So they really aren't ventuing much in terms of variety and yet the city based levels always end up being my favourite. Seaside Hill looks remarkably like Green Hill Zone with it's blue water, green grass and checkered orange walls. Planet Wisp has a lot of green and red/orange going on too.

Green Forest, Metal Harbour, Pyramid Cave... kinda spoilt for choice there really and I'd love to seem them all. Sod it, just give me a remake of SA2.

Actually, just remake the Sonic levels from SA1 and 2 on one disc and call it Sonic's Adventure.

^ After having a few more quick goes, I'm inclined to agree with you :) also for anyone interested in comparing times here's my fastest so far...

I just beat the one minute marker :D I was trying (and failing...) to take a pic so I don't know the exact time, somewhere around 59 seconds!

  • 2 weeks later...

So... what happens now? T'is the last day of the demo, does anyone reckon the demo will get 'patched' and there will be a new playable level possibly?

Its already been noted that there's full level data for a few levels contained within the demo has it not?

So I just kinda figured...

Could be wrong...

But yeah...

Indeed.

There was (at the very least) a large amount of level data from modern Green Hill Zone and City Escape.

This... hence why I was curious. :)

It'd be nice anyway, especially as the game isn't due out until later this year.

It would be pretty cool, the timer is a bit weird anyway, and the demo was pretty big considering how short it was. Also no modern Sonic sections was a surprise.

That said, if hackers could pick it apart to find a list of zones, you think they would've found the hidden parts of the demo earlier.

GAME have got the standard edition at the moment for £32.99 but have just listed a 'special edition' for £37.99.

On 360 is has the following extras:

‘Casino Night’ Pinball Stage: Play through this iconic mini-game from ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’ and relive some of your favorite gaming memories in stunning HD.

Super Sonic Costume: Give your avatar the ultimate make-over with the iconic ‘super transformation’ character (available for Xbox 360 only)

Theme: Give your console the ultimate Sonic experience with a theme created exclusively for this pack

Whereas the PS3 version is only showing the Casino Night Pinball Stage for £39.99!?

If all of the above is more than likely going to be available as DLC at a later date then GAME can sod off. :p

I'd rather purchase the game for around £5 + cheaper on ShopTo, get it early and buy the 'extra' stuff with Microsoft points which I'll be able to get cheap via work meaning that all the dlc will probably cost me the equivelant of £2.00 as opposed to them slapping an extra fiver on just 'because they can'. ;)

Oh... still, that could change, plus I want to be playing the game either on release date or before, not sat there waiting for it. ;)

Well you have me there! ;) Although i have always got games early from GAME (including once on a wednesday) up until Zelda 3DS (which was a joke!!) and Aneres11 got Res 3D from GAME which came early so the whole Zelda thing may have just been a once off.
