dazzybee Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Played the demo, absolutely loved it. Definitely getting this. Gat style, great mechanic, more of a story than I was expecting.
Daft Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I thought the controls were pretty terrible. Not sure what the obsession is with this game.
Cube Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I've kind of gone off it. If it was a launch title it would have been an instant buy.
dazzybee Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Just liked the style and gameplay mechanic, could offer up some really inventive levels.
Cube Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/06/vita-psone-classics-to-be-rolled-out-gradually/ PS1 Classics will be released gradually on Vita. Because Sony hate the Vita.
Aimless Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 That ostensibly contradicts IGN's article on PSOne support. Why would they roll games out gradually if support is blanket? Anyway, here's the Vita montage Sony apparently forgot to show during their conference:
Daft Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I can't believe they didn't put that in the conference. 2:46 minutes long, that's sod all. Some good stuff there.
Aimless Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I guess 17 minutes for Wonderbook wouldn't have been enough.
Daft Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Only 17 minutes? Could have sworn it was on stage for a couple eternities.
dazzybee Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 That is crazy they didn't show that... All 3 companies are losing the plot
Cube Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Just found out that there's another PS3 port making it's way to Vita: Need for Speed Most Wanted (It's the Criterion one, not a different one like Android/iOS).
Agent Gibbs Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/06/vita-psone-classics-to-be-rolled-out-gradually/ PS1 Classics will be released gradually on Vita. Because Sony hate the Vita. Woah woah woah, so i was right when i posted something along those lines in the conference thread? WHY what is with that madness? it pissed me off so much with the PSP that it was about 2 years before europe got any decent psone classics, we only got Resident evil 2 and 3 a few months back when they've been out in other regions for about a year more! What are they thinking, it should just be flipping a switch to allow the firmware to use all psone classics. I really want a Vita but there aren't enough games that i like yet, the PSone classics had me thinking i might buy one then so i can play the Final Fantasy and Resident Evil games i already own. *sigh* looks like i still can't retire my phat psp That ostensibly contradicts IGN's article on PSOne support. Why would they roll games out gradually if support is blanket? Who the hell is right then? god i wish companies would be clear on what they are doing. Guess i'll wait for the "Launch" to check what happens i sure hope it isn't the madness of a staggered psone classics for Vita
Dcubed Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) LBP Vita is the real deal. Got into the beta and it's bloody amazing! Runs at native res, runs smooth as butter, looks as good as LBP2 (except the water. Looks a bit rubbish, but it is a beta after all!), has all the features of the PS3 game, touch stuff works well, online works as well as the PS3 one, it's all good Surprised that they didn't just go ahead and call it LBP3! You can even have sub levels within levels now (complete with custom menus) and it saves your progress too!!! My only complaint is that there is no local multiplayer option. That's a pretty big flaw IMO. Hopefully they'll add it down the line, because I suspect that the servers wont stay online forever. Edited June 13, 2012 by Dcubed
Daft Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 No local multiplayer is weird, can't imagine it would be too hard to implement so there's no excuse really. Personally, I'm barely ever in a situation where I could do that and not be near WiFi, so I'm not bothered, but they should sort that shit out. Good to hear that it's not a duff version. Ever since getting LBP2 free on Plus, I've kind of fallen for it. Makes the first LBP feel like a real false dawn (even though it was impressive at the time).
Cookyman Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Freaking insane deal! Starts: 15/06/2012 Expires: 17/06/2012 The amazing Playstation Vita game Everybody's Golf is now £7.99 on the Playstation Store. If you're a PS+ member it's even more of a bargain - only £7.19. Cheap as chips!
Daft Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Hell, even I'm tempted at that price and I really don't care for golf. What size is the game? Might have to delete some stuff from my memory card.
Cookyman Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Hell, even I'm tempted at that price and I really don't care for golf. What size is the game? Might have to delete some stuff from my memory card. It's 1GB - I bought it full price on release and was happy to pay that price for it. You be mad not to get it at that price.
Aimless Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 1.4GB, at least that's what my patched version weighs in at. Gravity Rush is excellent, by the way. Buckets full of charm, a lovely visual style and fantastic music wrapped around an open-world superhero game; it's like Crackdown if Nintendo made it. I was having some trouble with the camera initially but I got a feel for it after a couple of hours; it's similar to Uncharted in that I'll use the right stick for broad movements and the motion sensor to fine tune, with an occasional tap down on the d-pad to recentre if things get too skewed. As a consequence the combat started to feel a lot better and there's actually a fair amount of depth to the various attacks that the demo didn't really get across. Also, Kat needs to be in PlayStation All-Stars.
Cube Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) Is there anything for £2.81 (Oddly, I don't have a single problem buying a set amount of points. I hate myself for that.) Edited June 16, 2012 by Cube
Daft Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I've changed my mind of Gravity Rush. Was a bit bored by the demo but I think it's pretty good.
Cube Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Oh, Gravity Rush is £30 on the store. I was expecting a stupid price. Can you buy Vita games on the PS3 store? The Vita lacks a shopping basket. (Ignore my question, I just realised that my TV remote is sitting next to me)
Cube Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Here's something about the Vita which is beyond stupid: Gravity Rush requires the latest version of the Vita software (which is an "optional" update and you need to do manually). Now, if I had decided to save the game (as I was thinking of doing) for a long journey, I would have been unable to play the game at all as you need an internet connection for the update.
Aimless Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I suppose the rationale is that you downloaded the game and you need up-to-date firmware to access the Store in the first place. Guess they overlooked the existence of optional updates. Physical copies likely require an earlier firmware and perhaps come with an update on the cart, but as I keep my Vita updated I couldn't say for sure.
