PlayStation Vita Console Discussion

I'm holding off on Uncharted. I can't really bring myself to buy a game at that price which probably won't have much replayability at the start of a handheld's life.

I'll wait for it to drop in price a little, me thinks.

But I might cave.

I hope Escape Plan is good. It looked pretty ace and I think it's a launch title, too.

I havent decided when i'll get Uncharted yet. It'll just depend on how happy I am just playing Persona 3 and Rayman Origins or craving more actual Vita games.

Whilst your in a thread mentioning Persona....I just wondered is the original one on PSP worth playing? Noticed it's in sale for 9.99 on Playstation Store (8.99 for plus) thought about picking it up and consider you an expert somewhat on the series.

Unfortunately ive only played Persona 4 but from what I know Persona 3 was where they switched to a more battle/social aspect to the series and I think the first two were a lot more battle focused so I guess it depends what you are looking for from the game. Personally I loved the social aspects the most which is why I'm not going all the way back to the first Persona.

Even fans of the Persona series say the first game is hard to get into. It has first-person dungeons, a huge amount of random encounters and it's pretty difficult (or so I've heard, I haven't played it, either). At least the story is supposed to be decent/dark.

You'd be better off playing Persona 2, which is supposed to be a bit more modern, though still very different from the PS2 games.

As far as I know its worked on Japanese versions.

IGN seem to think it works anyway:

Infact it looks like they have a guide on how to do it:

http://uk.ign.com/wikis/ps-vita/How_to_Switch_PSN_Accounts_on_PlayStation_Vita

Ah I just found that and was about to edit my post. I hope they update it as I don't mind syncing all of my trophies etc to the cloud and turning the device on and off but it's very confusing how you need to reset all the settings and have to set the date and stuff each time, is there absolutely zero on-board memory?

It's a pain but I'll probably just stick mainly to using my Japanese account as I have more content on there than I do on my EU profile.

So is it safe to assume that stuff such as wifi profiles are saved to the memory card rather than the system? Hopefully I'll remember to save networks to both memory cards I'll inevitably get when I pick up the system.

Im just glad that theres nothing on my US or Japanese accounts that I'll need for the Vita as restoring the Vita to factory settings everytime you want to switch account sounds like a complete ball ache.

Well, if I'm being honest it isn't much of a loss personally as well, all of the games I have on my US account are games I've already completed... but it would be nice to have them handy in case I wanted to complete them again...

This is from the US Playstation blog so I dont know if that means we wont have some of these games over here yet but its helpful to see anyway.

I don't claim by any means to have done exhaustive research on this... but is it true that Sony don't have a UMD passport scheme in place for the EU? ie. all purchased physical UMD games will not be playable on Vita?

If that's the case then I have no idea why people are against Debug Mode morally. It would be counter common sense to choose to buy your games again or keep an old paperweight for the purpose of playing them.
