Ashley Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I'll exclude The Format and fun. because well, easiest to. (I'm still hoping it gets a literal interpretation video) Remember what they say - there's no shortcut to a dream. Its all blood and sweat and life is what you manage in between How I comforted myself over the summer. I can never decide what my favourite song on this album is but that's the last so I'll go with that for now. I've fallen in love with Andrew Dost this year. His album isn't easily accessible (read: only on vinyl) so not much is on YouTube. And all of those (save Dost) are from this year. Bonus. More to come...maybe. Oh wait! Also not from this year.
Dan_Dare Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Its the sound of your friend's dipshit dad conjuring every cliche he can and miraculously condensing them into something that's reminiscent of nothing so much as midlife crisis. ahahahaahaha
Goafer Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 It's fairly recent, so the novelty might wear off. Me and a friend did have an awesome time playing it though (Him on guitar, me on bass). Still stuck on repeat with the others posted here. Love the drum beat. I know some of them didn't come out this year, but I'm counting them since they are the songs I most listened/discovered to this year.
Slaggis Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 My three most played, as far as I'm aware. What can I say? I'm a pop tart. Though, nothing beats Diana with subtitles. "COVER UP YOUR COLOURED CHILD, CORN BEEEEF! I'M A LION!!" Blondie will never sound the same. Oh, and Ke$ha's 'Cannibal' is fast becoming my creepiest song of the year.
arnold Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Only heard this this week (don't know how I missed it) but i'm loving it alredy and as always I think my top song for a while is going to be Since I discovered Steve he's been a favorite of mine and this was the first time I watched him on jools, but I never caught his name, it pissed me off until my mum told me about him, lol
dan-likes-trees Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Album of the year (though actually released last year) Man of the year Fuck this is awesome new band of the year All-round track of the year
Murr Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 B.O.B Ft Hayley Williams - Aeroplanes Does it offend you yeah? - We Are Rockstars I really cant remember what the fuck i've been listening to this year, it's been so varied... playing loads of Rock / Metal / Nu Metal in May / June in anticipation for Download Festival, then a switch to nothing but Prodigy, Pendulum and Enter Shikari in preparation for the Warriors Dance Festival, and this year i've found myself downloading alot of songs that last year I would never of listened to... biggest ashamed download would be Tinie Tempah. then recently back to 36 Crazyfists, Senses Fail & a day to remember. last week i had Daft Punk - Discovery in my car
Beast Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I have been listening to a lot of Keane, Coldplay and Muse. Seriously addicted to them now. I hate how I actually like a Ke$ha song too (Take It Off) but it's so catchy.
Paj! Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Ke$ha is like a virus. Awful, but it's in your system now, you make as well may the most of it. *daces wildly to We R Who We R* P.S - I loved this. A lot.
Jon Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Train - Hey, Soul Sister is definitely my song of the year, if not song of the past few years. Absolutely love this song and if we need to wait another 10 years before (Drops of Jupiter came out 2000 I think) getting another Train song this good I'd be perfectly happy. Other songs which have stood out are, in no particular order: Eminem - Not Afraid, Eminem back to form on his latest album You really need to listen to the album (Save Me, San Francisco), there are far better songs on it than Hey, Soul Sister, and that is amazing in it's own right. For Me. The Script - Nothing 30 Seconds to Mars - Closer to The Edge Bon Jovi - Superman Tonight Train - Save Me, San Fransisco
Ashley Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I have been listening to a lot of Keane, Coldplay and Muse. Seriously addicted to them now. Its a miracle you're not in a permanent coma.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 God, you're even worst than I thought. I knew you would comment. Luckily, I can't be arsed caring about other people's opinions.
Paj! Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I just can't believe Dannyboy chose Like Whoa over Potential Break-Up Song...
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I just can't believe Dannyboy chose Like Whoa over Potential Break-Up Song... Haven't heard that one, I'm afraid. You think I'd like it?
Beast Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Its a miracle you're not in a permanent coma. I liked Keane anyway but the other two I've only just started getting into. I never liked Coldplay before but lately, I'm starting to like them a little and Muse I started to listen to on and off for a while but at the moment, it's on, lol. Haven't heard that one, I'm afraid. You think I'd like it? I think you'd like that, let me repeat that, I think you'd like that... Edited November 15, 2010 by Animal Automerged Doublepost
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I did like it. Thanks for posting.
Ashley Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Oh I forgot about this! It fills me with so much glee, even if its about growing old/death. Hoping to talk my housemate into seeing them as they're playing in London in a month and have a christmas album out in two weeks. It will be magical!
Diageo Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I love it and most of my college friends do too. Audio Here's come the music hate!
Jimbob Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 There have been a number of songs this year i have repeated. Fair enough, i'm not one to be "into" the modern day stuff. But, i have been through and discovered songs from the past. These include (there are a few modern in here). Bon Jovi - We Wern't Born to Follow Bon Jovi - What Do You Got Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal K-Naan - Wavin Flag This 1 is a treat for Bon Jovi fans here, because they covered Lennard Cohans original pretty well
