After work, I decided to go out and around the town to do a bit of shoppppiiiing (said in the same way that the Pokemon Koffffing says his name)

We popped into Wilkinsons and I found the one thing that would make my life easier:

My words were something like "Fuck yeah! A laminator! Now I can do my laminating at home!"

At the exact moment, I knew that I was old. I saw it, and I literally squealed. This is no exaggeration. I fucking squealed like a pig.

I remember getting my first bill from British Gas. Or paying my first lot of rent. At those moments, I realised I wasn't a kid anymore.

At what points did you realise that had moved on, or that you were old, wrinkly men? Or women, in the case of our special vaginapeople.

I think the moment I started my driving lessons I felt old. Because I sorta am.

But apart from that I still live the life of a student who mooches off their parents etc. Sorta. I won't feel old/adultish yet until I have my own place I think. And a proper job.

I sound kind of weird saying that.

What I meant to say was that I hope I always have a bit of Coolness Bears lurking inside of me.

Have you tried to laminate anything none paper?

My first port of call would be to try and laminate a banana peel.

I did threaten to steal all of my brother's monies after he gloated about a football result earlier today.

I'd give him back a laminated five pound note.

YOU CAN BUY LAMINATORS? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE FUCKING TELL ME?

I just coat everything in PVA glue and wait until it dries and goes transparent. Oh man, this is going to make everything so much easier!

They're a pain to use though. Especially if you're a perfectionist.

I imagine that laminators could be useful for arty types of stuff. Like, if you make a special page for a comic that you'd like to keep or something, you could laminate that. Or for a portfolio.

Emasher: They're really not a pain. What makes you say that? Seems pretty easy to me. I didn't actually do much to mine. Just place whatever I wanted laminating in the pounch and into the machine. Came out lovely.

Saying that, that's with a different machine. I haven't tested mine yet.

If you're laminating pages about the size of the pouches and can't cut them down after, and have to be within the millimetre in terms of accuracy, they become a pain. I guess if the stuff is smaller you'd be fine.

The day I first house-hunted, I hunted with two friends and I have never felt more mature/old and frustrated in my life..partly due to the properties and partly due to the company and lack of common sense.

Since then it's generally being pushed into the ''real world'', job hunting, bill paying, scraping a living. Bah humbug.

Ahh, fair play. Yeah, I've mostly been laminating smaller things (like signs for drawers) and then cutting them afterwards.

Also, the link if people fancy getting one: http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/Mice-Speakers-Webcams/Texet-Personal-Laminator-A4-LMA4-V/invt/0240623

Only 9 quid.

I'm pretty sure they are in tescos as well!

I just get the guys at my office to do any laminating I need :P

Haha, office monkeys!

We have a laminator at work, too. But, every department has a budget with things like paper, laminator pouches, other materials. It just seems like a lot of hassle.

So, this will be used just by me at home, to get my own personal things done. Without having to faff around with budgets and paper work.

haha yes. the fella that works in our office (he's not part of our department or budget) does them for us. He's rather fond of women's breasts, and plays "pocket billiards" so it's pretty easy to convince him to do you a favour :heh:
