While it shows good intent that the owners are prepared to invest in the club, at least invest properly. Carroll is pretty decent, but he's not £35m pretty decent. Crikey... I mean... I'm surprised they didn't consider looking at Defoe, or looking abroad as mentioned above at Higher quality players at around 10 to £15m cheaper. "Ok Torres is pretty much a done deal, lets calm the fuck down, scout decent players in the £20m bracket across Germany, Spain, France, Italy etc.. and consider our options" Not go along the lines of "Oh My Fuck.. Dunno if it's true, but I just read a tweet that said: west ham were offered andy carroll for £1 million in the summer of 2009, but steve clarke didn't rate him (from dead cert source)lol.
