nekunando Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 It's clearly ridiculous.. and I don't particularly like Tevez anyway
system_error Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Neither do I - but I am also not too fond of Suarez. BUT I would rather have 2 decent strickers now than none if Torres really leaves. The reccent "offers" look like someone playing Football Manager and cheating ...
Ramar Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 We played pants today. Not so sure on Squillaci's red, having seen it once on replay, I'm not convinced. He stood his ground, wasn't really last man and was about 40 yards from goal. Samir Nasri pulling a hamstring is just typical. Gutted.
Emerald Emblem Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Half time in the late kick off. Fulham 4-0 Tottenham. Day just gets better.
flameboy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Gary Cahill is off to the Chelsea...he came into my dad's casino who got talking to him about Sheffield as turns out they are both from the same neighborhood (Lowedges!) and apparently now they've seen their move for David Luiz fall through he is going instead....his agent is in talks with them currently. Also if you take a look he didn't play yesterday...

James Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Where you get that picture from mad dog, could be a heavily cropped picture, I didn't think they would cast him out in training to be honest.
MadDog Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) Liverpool forum. Players came and left before he got there, loads of pics similar. Linkage to lots of training pics today. Edited January 30, 2011 by MadDog Automerged Doublepost
Jon Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Torres returned from a short break in Spain on Sunday and trained on his own at Melwood, purely because he arrived latter than his team-mates, which had been agreed in advance. It is not to be interpreted that he is already being ostracised by Dalglish and the owners in preparation for a sale.
nekunando Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 £35Million for Andy Carroll.....Really???? I know.. it's insane At the same time, it maybe shows the intents of FSG and what they're prepared to do to move Liverpool forward..
system_error Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I am more curious about Torres replacement - so far every rumored striker bid they made was turned down. There are not that much players left who can help Liverpool and are even willing to transfer. Yeah before I pay 35 for Carrol I rather pay 20 for Forlan...
Emerald Emblem Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 If Carroll does go to Liverpool for £35 million I think Newcastle have made a great bit of business. He's nowhere near worth that much, 1/3 of that price at best.
spirited away Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Liverpool have been well and truly mugged of there if the deal goes through. All you can do is laugh.
Murr Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I know.. it's insane At the same time, it maybe shows the intents of FSG and what they're prepared to do to move Liverpool forward.. While it shows good intent that the owners are prepared to invest in the club, at least invest properly. Carroll is pretty decent, but he's not £35m pretty decent. Crikey... I mean... I'm surprised they didn't consider looking at Defoe, or looking abroad as mentioned above at Higher quality players at around 10 to £15m cheaper. I am more curious about Torres replacement - so far every rumored striker bid they made was turned down. There are not that much players left who can help Liverpool and are even willing to transfer. Yeah before I pay 35 for Carrol I rather pay 20 for Forlan... Exactly... yeah it's a panic buy... but there are still 7 hours left of the window (there were 8 or 9 when they first started the bid) surely they could of sat everyone down and been like... "Ok Torres is pretty much a done deal, lets calm the fuck down, scout decent players in the £20m bracket across Germany, Spain, France, Italy etc.. and consider our options" Not go along the lines of "Oh My Fuck.. Torres is gone.. Sign Crouch, Sign Keane, Sign Carroll.. sign anyone... £35m... here take it ....fuuuuuuuuu" Just my 2 cents though:heh:
Retro_Link Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Better to just sit on there £50million than panic buy at the last minute! They're pretty safe in mid-table now anyways. Dunno if it's true, but I just read a tweet that said: west ham were offered andy carroll for £1 million in the summer of 2009, but steve clarke didn't rate him (from dead cert source)lol.
system_error Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 The problem is I can't think of many strikers who could replace Torres. I think Fernando Llorente has a release fee of ~30 million pound that might do the trick aswell.
Hero-of-Time Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Luckly the 2nd bid for Carroll has been rejected by Newcastle. I rate him, but not that highly. I would rather we try and sign Charlie Adam.
nekunando Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I would rather we try and sign Charlie Adam. I wouldn't be surprised to see him heading to Man United..
Hero-of-Time Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I wouldn't be surprised to see him heading to Man United.. Yeah, that's what it's looking like. I love deadline day, so many rumours and speculation.
James Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Has the second big been rejected? I would rather have lorente to be honest, but oh well, it's a statement from the new owners anyways, and a big one!! BOSH! EDIT: SkySports says it has, which well take that with a pinch of salt. I'm sitting watching Sky Sports transfer centre on my laptop.
Ellmeister Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Torres for 50million? Thats insane. 35 for Carroll?! Thats more than the Villa transfer to Barcelona apparently!
MadDog Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 We can't get anyone abroad, just no time. Carroll is good, but more 20mil good, not world class.
