Josh64 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Aah I was mistaken! I thought the GBA games were only time exclusive too. Still, it really is shocking the amount of effort the have put into the VC. As usual, they promise to make the online store a better experience yet provide us with barely any games, and over priced ones at that. I mean seriously, GB games should be no more than £1.50. But that's a whole other matter, they can charge what they want for now as long as they start putting some titles on there. I've been waiting for Donkey Kong Land for a year and a half now!
flameboy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 So how the hell does spot pass work?! I don't quite understand. I've got two street passes so far. I have no idea how though. All I've done with my 3DS since I got it was drive from where I live suburbia to the sticks to go to work...maybe I drove past other people in their cars who were playing... but I drive to work between 6am-7am how many other people are driving at that time of day with 3DS' in their bags?!
Grazza Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 SpotPass is the blue light, and is sent from Nintendo over a Wi-Fi network. StreetPass is the green light and happens when two 3DSes have been fairly near each other. If it's not Iwata or someone, you must have StreetPassed a real person! (Are you sure it wasn't one of your neighbours when you were at home?)

(Are you sure it wasn't one of your neighbours when you were at home?) Nope definitely not. Unless it literally took seconds I stepped out of house got in car and put it on and then left. It was there when I took a look at work on a break...no way could be from neighbours at work my work is like I said in a rural area with nobody for a long way. So spotpass can come from any Wifi network I go past?
Grazza Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 So spotpass can come from any Wifi network I go past? No, just ones you have access to like your own, McDonalds and (I think) GAME, places like that.

I think you can check in the notifications what it was if you can't recall, it'll usually say and be blue or green accordingly?
Grazza Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Another thing is that if you look at the Mii, it actually tells you when you StreetPassed it (sorry I didn't remember this sooner).
Debug Mode Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Something very strange has happened on the 3DS hacking scene. I've already shared here some of the advances people are making on the scene, such as having access to the operating system options which can turn off stuff like the region locking etc. But the AceDS team has announced their new card and, despite being legit, people are having trouble understanding what the actual fuck is going. The new card, which I'm not going to link to the main website to, has a switch on the back which you can switch from DS mode to 3DS mode. This is weird by itself, as no one expected any advancements like this, but what's even weirder is that it only supports ONE 3DS game. Not as in "only one game has been exploited to run without the cart", any game can be chosen supposedly, but only one can be mounted. Could this be the anti-piracy measure that Nintendo was rather confident about? Because it pretty much makes the cartridge pointless.
Dcubed Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Yeah I saw that a while back. This was already done over a year ago, using a butchered 3DS and a modified Game Card to mount 1 game on top of another game IIRC, so it seems that they still haven't made any progress. As far as homebrew goes, AFAIK, they still only have the ability to display text and do not have any access to graphics rendering. So it seems that the 3DS is still safe for now...
Debug Mode Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 It's still got a good year of being safe left I reckon. Still very early days. It's a shame, I don't want to see piracy become rampant, but I'd love to see that fucking region locking switched off.
Dcubed Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 The 3DS save file transfer tool comes out in March in Japan! http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/33140 I'd imagine that we'll get it around the same time (just in time for MH3U! )
flameboy Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 How do you transfer stuff from one SD to another? Can you do out on computer...I wanna put in a a spare 4gb to replace the 2 that came in there.
Mandalore Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 How do you transfer stuff from one SD to another? Yeah if your computer has a SD card reader, it's just a case of copying from one card and pasting to the other.

Aneres11 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Well it got me hard. And I have no opinion on Fire Emblem haha. Unboxing porn is the best.
Grazza Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Nintendolife is trying to get Princess Crown remade for the 3DS. It's a Japanese Sega Saturn game, and an early Vanillaware title like Muramasa or Dragon's Crown. This is exactly the sort of thing I'd have loved back in the '90s, if only it had left Japan - the sprites are gorgeous. Anyway, I just thought it was a worthy venture: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/01/remake_request_princess_crown
Aneres11 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Is anyone a member of the Pokemon Daisuki Club... Anyone at all?! Anyone who is can buy the amazing Charizard 3DS XL! http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/46212/charizard-3ds-xl-being-offered-to-pokemon-daisuki-club-members/ I mean, that thing is just pure beauty. Maybe they will begin selling them to the general public soon too?! I hope and pray anyway!
-Dem0- Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Didn't know this. Both are Flame Red, yet they're both different. One came with the 3DLand Bundle and the other was a standalone purchase.
Agent Gibbs Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 looks like its missing the top semi translucent plastic cover over the top of the console, you can see the difference in protrusion of the top screen/piece of the 3DS ergo its broken or defective
Dcubed Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Weird. BTW, when the hell are we going to get some new colours for the OG 3DS!? I want the purple one!

Dcubed Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Anyone else here REALLY hungry for new 3DS info? We haven't seen anything new announced for 3DS here in Europe (aside from Devilish Brain Training's release date) since that November Nintendo Direct. I could really do with a new 3DS related Nintendo Direct right about now... (Good chance to reveal that purple coloured OG 3DS for us here in Europe too!) The fact that we still don't have a solid release date from Luigi's Mansion 2 other than "March" is irritating as hell. NOE's silence on all things 3DS is deafening
