Pornography

Whilst I love women and the female body, I have to admit that the majority of Porn I have watched on television or the internet has been crap porn.

You see, when I think of porn, I think of it as something which is meant to arouse me. A lot of the time, the stuff I'm looking at is just laughable. There were points last year where me and my housemates would watch porn together and just take the piss out of it. All of these exaggerated sounds and burly blokes with dodgey moustaches who would sometimes smile at the camera whilst "taking" a busty blonde housewife from behind.

The worst offenders are these porn movies where they try to attach a storyline and some sort of acting credibility. They call these "erotic thrillers."

Over the years, I have seen some great porn, but I have seen so much rubbish, too. Where is the quality porn? Gah. As you get older, you find that you don't need it much anyway. The imagination is much sexier. Mmm. Sexy thoughts.

I read an article recently from a female journalist about how gay porn is more realistic/romantic than heterosexual porn.

Apparently kissing doesn't happen in straight porn very often?

Also she went on about how guys are picked for hetero porn because of the size of their cocks, whereas they're picked more upon how they look/how charming they are/how hot they are generally in gay movies. You're more likely to get realistic looking guys in gay porn, where in hetero porn you mostly get moustached bodybuilders and pornstar girls.

But then, it's kinda a pointless thing to forward in an article, since you're either interested, or not.

I've never seen gay porn before, so I don't know what the features are of the characters that are shown. But, you're right, kissing doesn't happen all that much in hetero porn. It takes place a lot during lesbian porn, though.

Not sure why, but generally most of the emphasis is placed on the penetration aspect. Then, there will be close-ups of said penetration.

This must be what the thought process is before they make porn:

"Right, do we have a hot girl? Guys love hot girls?"

"Ok, we have an assortment of women at our disposal. Which do we go for?"

"Which one has: A, the biggest tits. But not big as in the rest of her is big big, but big as in they tits are of a large size, in comparison to the rest of her body. Also, B, which one looks the filthiest?"

"The filthiest?"

"Yeeeeah? You know, the one who can look at the camera and look...dirty."

"I think I know what you mean..."

"Oh heck, just throw them all in at some point. Also, do we have a big guy?"

"Big guy?"

"You know, burly guy. Guy with a huge penis who can penetrate said girl."

"ahhh."

"Ok, so we have the male, and we most definitely have the female. Lets make porn. We'll start off with some dodgey opening shot. He could be arriving in her house to do some handywork. Then, lets have a minor strip-tease scene. This can last for 5 seconds. Then, lets have her giving oral pleasure. Then her on top. Facing the camera. Always facing the camera. Speed him up. Some doggy style. Don't forget to add the dodgey sound effects, but the woman can mostly do them by herself without us having to add them in afterwards. Add a couple of "Fuck yeahs" here and there. Some groaning. Maybe get the guy to grunt a few times. Smile at the camera. Then, finish on her face. AAaaand, that's a wrap."

There. We have just covered about 85% of hetero porn. :heh:

Edit: Also, do not forget the camera-man trying to give some comments on the action. I've seen so many where they try and talk to the girls, like they're interviewing her. As if this makes it any more "realistic" or creates a sexy scene. It seems awkward, forced and it's annoying as fuck.

I hate porn. I honestly can't stand it. It shows a very unrealistic view of sex, and sadly that is what young people start to think sex should be like. There is never any affection in there, just close-ups of the guy's penis entering whatever hole is available (often they don't even show the guy's face).

I honestly can't watch porn because I find it disgusting and a huge turn off. I've tried watching amateur porn hoping they would show a bit more love in there, but the ones I found tried to imitate the pornvideos from the big industry, so no luck there.

I agree with Eenuh. Although I do occasionally watch it, it has shattered what the 'reality' of sex is. Which is rather depressing...

I think homosexual porn has a tendency to be more "realistic" because it also focuses on the feelings. Heterosexual porn has all the focus on the guy getting off as a result of his interaction with the girl. In homosexual porn, the focus cannot for obvious reasons be on the guy getting off on the girl, so the focus is switched to the sensual side of the act.

That being said, not all porn follows the typical template. Some porn, even straight porn, actually intentionally focuses on the feelings and sensuality. Not all watchers of porn is interested in money shots - some want to see emotion that doesn't seem blatantly unrealistic.

Though it's impossible to argue that porn is realistic, and it is indeed sad when young people get the impression that porn is an accurate representation of sex. I think it would be an idea for porn to be a part of sexual education - it's impossible to avoid, so youngsters should be prepared to handle it and understand its fictional nature, just like they understand the fictional nature of movies.

I completely understand what you're saying, but I think you have a huge misconception of what porns actually about. It isn't about watching people "make love", it's not meant to be some gentle, intimate act between two people who care about each other.

In general it's designed for one purpose... and that's to get people off! It's a money maker!

Yeah but see, that doesn't work for me, it doesn't "get me off". That's why I say this is my opnion and I don't like porn. It's focused too much on the pleasure of the man and the many ways he can take a woman. Most porn is aimed at men, and that sort of stuff doesn't always work to turn on women (some might, but not all).

The fact that it doesn't focus on the man's face is nothing but a positive for me.

Then her on top. Facing the camera. Always facing the camera.

See, now based on the small amount of porno I've watched, that happens more towards the end.

I love some of the "introductions" some of these porns come up with. It is tacky but it's pure genius. Oooh I'll call round my friends house, he's not in, but his mum is not wearing much, yay!

Nope, doesn't work either. Can't say I've ever been hugely interested in it to begin with.

One's enjoyment of porn is solely dependant on what one is turned on by. I understand why mindless humping (which a lot of porn is) doesn't turn some people on.

Out of curiosity: What are your thoughts on male-on-male porn? (If it isn't too personal a question, of course.)

I call severe twisting of the truth.

Never watched male on male porn really. I did read erotic stories which had male on male when I was younger, but never watched porn like that (and again don't feel the urge to). Like I said, I need more than just mindless sex, but then again I rely a lot on emotions so maybe that's why.

You're just jealous because I have amazing restraint.

Bah! :heh:

I perfectly understand. I can relate to emotions playing a big role when talking love and sex.

How can asking somebody their view on porn, in a thread asking people about their views on porn, be too personal a question?

Meh, I guess it seems a bit silly. It just felt more personal when asking one single individual directly. I just really don't want to offend anyone. :heh:
