dazzybee Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Yeah that's what I love too. I meant the problem with having friends who only pop round occasionally to play it. I'm looking forward to playing this though... Smash never quite grabbed me and I used to LOVE beat em ups!! Come on Tatsunoko!!
Mike Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I finally got round to playing some of this this evening, and went through arcade mode with Ryu and Chun Li. I was very much button bashing for a lot of it, but having played Street Fighter, I managed to get the hang of their special moves pretty easily. Some of the bigger special moves look awesome, and are easy to pull off. I definitely enjoyed playing it, and I can tell that if you're eagerly anticipating it, you're going to love it. I'm not particularly a fighter fan, though (apart from Smash Bros and Street Fighter IV), and coupled with the fact that I should be getting Endless Ocean 2 soon, I doubt I'll spend much more time on it. I'd definitely consider picking it up again during the next games drought, though.
Josh64 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Just seen a few gameplay videos on the 'tube and I really can't wait for this game. The graphics also look really good, I saw Viewtiful Joe and was just like ''Man, he's so shiny!''. I've heard the online is good too, so I'm in.
Beverage Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I've heard the online is good too, so I'm in. Same Though in one YouTube video I heard some funny ass dude say "this is laggy as hell". It could've been an exageration as he was getting his butt whooped
Zechs Merquise Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Is there a training mode in this like in Street Fighter IV so you can learn all the combos and the moves? I find it really annoying when you have to work them all out yourself
dazzybee Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I don't think there is Zechs...shame...I'm not preordering as I have to send my Wiis away for a couple of weeks, so I'm going to order this when I'm ready to go!! Can't wait though!!
yesteryeargames Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 anyone from zavvi £17.99 order been posted yet?
STOOPIDDITTIES Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 anyone from zavvi £17.99 order been posted yet? No, it says on the site it will be in 3 days though.
Guest Captain Falcon Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 anyone from zavvi £17.99 order been posted yet? Mine says it's processing but then on the next screen it reads "awaiting stock pick".
Mike Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I've been playing a bit more of this tonight, getting the hang of how it works more and more. Just unlocked Frank, who's got some really cool zombie related special moves.

tapedeck Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Is there a training mode in this like in Street Fighter IV so you can learn all the combos and the moves? I find it really annoying when you have to work them all out yourself There is a training mode yes. You can set the 'dummy' too. Ala smash Bros.
Kav Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I'm going to have to get this! It looks to be full of win!
Zechs Merquise Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 There is a training mode yes. You can set the 'dummy' too. Ala smash Bros. Excellent, does it show you the moves and the combos??? I'm so hyped for this game!
Mike Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 You can call up a command list that shows you the moves, though I don't think it'll train you to do combos (though to be honest, I've not spent very long in training mode).

Guest Captain Falcon Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Got my confirmation through today that Zavvi have shipped my order
Hero-of-Time Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Got my confirmation through today that Zavvi have shipped my order Got my confirmation from GAME that they have shipped mine! I look forward to finally getting my hands on this, its been too long since I played a Capcom Vs whoever game. I will be no doubt using Ryu like I have for every version of Streetfighter and Vs game I've played, just need to find a partner for him now.
RedShell Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Got my confirmation through today that Zavvi have shipped my order Me too! I will be no doubt using Ryu like I have for every version of Streetfighter and Vs game I've playedSnap. Ryu has always been my main Street Fighter character. And on the X-Men/Marvel vs. games I usually rocked a Ryu + Wolverine team, which was awesome. :awesome: Can't wait to get my hands on this game now.
Tellyn Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Mine's been shipped by Zavvi too! Would anyone recommend getting a Classic Controller Pro for this? The black one is £15.99 on Amazon... I wanted one anyway, might just take the plunge.
MATtheHAT Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I bought a Classic Controller Pro for this game, and it feels awesome. The only main concern is the D-pad is a little too sticky for those quarter-down-diagonal moves. Although I'm sure it will wear in (or the skin on my left thumb will wear off).
tapedeck Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Seconded Mat's opinion. I'm using a CCPro and yes, it feels gorgeous for beat 'em ups in general.
Retro_Link Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Street Fighter 4 could so work on Wii! You know, this really has my interest... it looks really fun. Other than Smash Bros Melee, the last 2D fight I seriously got into was Mortal Kombat 3 way back in the day and I'm wondering if I should take the plunge back into the realms of 2D fighting with this!? In terms of character design and overblown charm it's also reminding me of Powerstone... which of course is a good thing. Definately interested in this!!
