lol, classic use of the ad!!

Anyways I don't see the problem with making a movie:

- If you love Friends and the movie turns out great, Awesome!

- If you love Friends but the movie's shit, ignore it existed and stick with the series, which has a decent enough ending [if incredibly rushed!].

- If you don't like Friends, don't go and see it! Just like the SATCity movie.

Ok, fine. It's the worst sitcom I've ever seen. I by no means claim to have seen every sitcom ever. Friends isn't actually about anything, it's a bunch of tossers deliberating over their inconsequential lives. It wasn't even remotely entertaining.

I don't see how people can say it isn't funny after Season 5, I thought it was really funny all the way up to the end. I still find the Simpsons funny too and can't see why people say it isn't funny anymore either. The humour is still there it's just that you need to bring yourself back a few years to see it.

Well now you've lost any credibility. It started out amazingly and i can still watch those earlier episodes and keep laughing. I don't laugh even once the first time of seeing the more recent ones.

Actually friends and Simpsons fell into the same trap. For that matter so did Everybody Loves Raymond and so has Scrubs. They started offf great but went on for way too long so that by the end all the characters had become caracatures(sp?) of themselves. Friends is the most obvious example of this. Contrast an episode from series 1 with series 10 and you'll see it. - Joey by Series 10 was a completely 2D character who acted too stupid to have functioned in society and got laughs by falling over, hitting himself etc. All the characters spent episodes shouting/getting hurt.

The problem with Friends is it was also lowest common demoninator comedy, cheap laughs, cheap puns, cheap storylines, cheap twists, but it did work and at its height made for complusive viewing but despite their being plenty of reasons why it should have sucked. It still somehow became the phenomeon.

People seem not to like the idea of Friends, what they seem to overlook is the fact that under some of the facade is a solid, well written, comedy.

I think it's the opposite. I think people buy into the idea as it shows a sort of ideal lifestyle: no real worries, just hanging out with your friends - escapism. However underneath that is a pretty run-of-the-mill comedy. It has its moments but nothing spectacular

Season 7...was the best then it kinda tailed off..if they make a movie, i dunno, i'd want it to stay as it is. I lol'd when they said the reason for not asking jennifer...

Fair enough point, when I do find funny is the fact is that there is no way in hell those people could ever of had afford to live where they do in New York. When I was in NY a few years back a local told me when I visited at the "friends house" that it would be ridiculous for them to live there.
