Platty Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Im happy with us getting these 1-0 wins but I do wish we wouldn't leave it till the 90th minute! Come on Everton, would love them to do over Liverpool. How lucky chelski too? damn.
spenno182 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 This just made me lol http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f282/gari1980/FAIL.gif
flameboy Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I hope liverpool-everton ends 0-0 doing wonders for my fantasy football team with jagielka and carragher in my defense.
Happenstance Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I hope liverpool-everton ends 0-0 doing wonders for my fantasy football team with jagielka and carragher in my defense. Thanks for that, Liverpool just scored. Looks like you are our new lucky charm :P
nekunando Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 ..stinkin.. we're throwing home points away left, right and centre.. a terrible weekend for Liverpool
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 My God, I was doubting Everton. As soon as the Liverpool scored, I just thought "Fucking Moyes, can't win a fight with constipation!" But then, Cahill scored. Then, I was all like "CAAAAAAAHHHHIIIIILLLLLLLLL!" Man United still top of the league. God is great.
nekunando Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 ..and it just had to be a combo of Arteta and Cahill.. those scums ruined my night
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 ..and it just had to be a combo of Arteta and Cahill.. those scums ruined my night What's your opinion on it? Was a draw a fair result? Or, are Liverpool/Everton hard done by? I think a draw is alright.
Ramar Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 I'm liking how tight the top of the table is at the minute. The title potentially could be anyones, six points is nothing considering theres a lot more games between the top 5 teams to come.
nekunando Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 What's your opinion on it? Was a draw a fair result? Or, are Liverpool/Everton hard done by? I think a draw is alright. I could only listen to the match on Five Live and I got the impression that it wasn't a particularly impressive match.. but when Gerrard scored I felt relief more than anything else as I could sense another goalless draw at home It sounded like Benayoun's foul was completely needless and before it was taken I could just feel that it wasn't gonna be Liverpool's night.. and so it proved! Liverpool were perhaps the better side overall and maybe 1-0 was fair, but it's hard to judge when all you have is audio.. I'm trying not to be too pessimistic about things as we are level on points at the top, even though we have played a game extra.. though the issue of Goal Difference basically puts us further behind. Compared to previous seasons, this is a great position and one most Liverpool fans would probably have accepted at this stage of the season. It's just so frustrating knowing that we could (and probably should) have been several points clear at the top The remaining matches between the big teams could be very decisive in the next few months, particularly Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford, but a victory against Chelsea at Anfield at the start of next month could reignite Liverpool's belief..
Retro_Link Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 MSN news reports; Kaka is stayin at Milan. Good!
Daft Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7838966.stm Not really surprised. The Jesus freak, and I mean that in the nicest way, love the guy, wouldn't move for money.
Dyson Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Nice Liverpool result, glad it's not being run away with.
darksnowman Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Thank fook Kaka ain't giving in to the lure of money. Dunno what to say about Liverpool. Taking four points on the whole from Everton ain't so bad, is it? However, we can't keep drawing, not good enough.
Ramar Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 Don't think Kaka was ever going to move, all the noise was from Man City and Milan's chairman. Thankfully sence prevailed, if the deal had gone through, it would be the end of football as we know it. Success is earnt, not bought.
Platty Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 United vs Derby tonight. Im expecting us to turn it round and win but no doubt it will go to the wire if we've got the second string out.
Charlie Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7838966.stm Not really surprised. The Jesus freak, and I mean that in the nicest way, love the guy, wouldn't move for money. So glad Kaka stayed with Milan. He remains my favourite footballer.
Roostophe Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Man City owners are pretty thick. You could buy an entire squad for £100m and they'd be better than the rubbish they have there at the moment. Rather happy Kaka stayed at Milan. Although I kept thinking he would have refused at the beginning and said something lilke "Greed is a sin, and Jesus would not have approved of me taking that offer." People are saying the title race is tight, and it is. Villa are only three points behind, but please do rule us out anyway because we're not aiming for the title. We truly aren't.

Villa are only three points behind, but please do rule us out anyway because we're not aiming for the title. We truly aren't. It's interesting, even if you aren't aiming for the title you've got a sniff. And hopefully with that in mind you'll nick points off the others up there, whilst playing poo against the lower teams so we can maintain Champions League football.
Roostophe Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 You've got to look like title contenders if you want to play in the Champions League. Your best chance is on the 21st March, when we go to Liverpool. The week after: Man Utd away. Like fuck we'll win that fixture.
Ramar Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 You've been riding the luck train for a while Villan, how many own goals that now? Not to mention the penalty decisions last weekend. We shall see come May whether that defeat at the Emirates was fatal.
Roostophe Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Aye, we've been uncharacteristically lucky. It'll probably run out when we have a stonewall penalty not given against Chelsea next month. Or we lose to Pompey soon. I bet ya that will happen.
Ramar Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 With Man Utd winning tonight, I suppose I'm not relying on Burnley tomorrow. No way Ferguson will bottle a final.
Roostophe Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Can't say I'm surprised Man Utd won. Like Derby would cause a major upset. Looks like we're playing Doncaster in the FA Cup. I hope we shit 'em.
