If you're enjoying watching it, then who's to say it isn't good television? Considering how many people seem to love it, it must be doing something right surely?

I was speaking in the academic sense of the phrase :)

(although I did say good, but meant quality. In my own inner babelfish that's what I said.)

That spaced clip... Why change the names? Why keep the script exactly the same? Why attempt to replicate the same camera angles then... just fucking ignore it?

I'm actually genuinely torn. They could do well with it, with the characters... but they are just dessicating the corpse of a great TV show.

They also looked really awkward. Christian is probably a really sane guy, but just as stunned as the rest of us!

Summer Glau...

sglau_tscc01.png

(in case you forgot what she looks like)

Anyway. Summer Glau has been cast in a new pilot called "The Cape".

Despite the comic book sounding title, "The Cape" is not based on a comic book. The premise finds an honest cop name Vince Faraday (to be played by Aussie actor David Lyons, "ER") framed and hunted down by bad guys in a fictional city. After he's believed killed, Faraday takes up the identity of The Cape, a costumed superhero (but with no powers) who teams up with a group of former carnival types to battle the city's corrupted police force and assorted bad guy politicians. Our hero's quest is to clear his name as well as be reunited with his loving son.

The angle? No one actually has superpowers, though they do wear costumes. Which, ironically, makes it sort of the complete opposite of "Heroes", NBC's latest bona fide hit.

NBC has ordered the pilot, from creator Tom Wheeler. Lloyd Braun [Virtuality, Mercy] and Gail Berman [same as LB + Buffy and Angel] will executive produce.

Glau will play Orwell, a cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys. And yes, she gets physical and is quite capable of kicking ass.

Sounds like some kind of Watchmen, Kick Ass and Heroes mix.

Ex and presumed dead cop which is a bit different at least :heh:

True, but why couldn't they have made him an ex and presumed dead bin man? :heh:

Ex and presumed dead bin men are less likely to have crime fighting knowledge/access to police info/know who the bent cops are :p

Bauer is dead.

In the metaphorical term. Show is canceled, NBC are not picking it up (but renewing Chuck yes? YES?) but a movie is in the works which will apparently wrap it all up.

24 ending this season was on the cards. It was a definite thing, then after the series started, the guys working on it said they felt rejuvenated by filming in a different city and the network hinted that the end might not be nigh any more. They've done a u-turn, but its understandable.

This is Lost's final season, aswell as 24's now, so it looks like I'm gonna be freed from TV!

New Cartoons:

The Looney Tunes Show:

crappytunes_b.jpg

A new half-hour animated comedy series starring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. No longer confined to 7-minute shorts, Bugs and Daffy are out of the woods and living in the suburbs among such colorful neighbors as Yosemite Sam, Granny, Tweety and Sylvester. In addition to each episode’s main story, The Looney Tunes Show also features “cartoons within a cartoon.” The Tasmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzales, Marvin the Martian and other classic characters sing original songs in two-minute music videos called Merrie Melodies and the Road Runner and Coyote are featured in 2-1/2 minute CG shorts. This all new series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) is the executive producer. Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone (both Duck Dodgers, Back at the Barnyard, Space Jam) are the supervising producers.

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated:

With the animated Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and their talking dog Scooby-Doo are back, solving mysteries in the spooky town of Crystal Cove, a sleepy coastal village that boasts a long history of ghostly sightings, werewolves and glowing deep sea divers. From Warner Bros. Animation, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated features the voices of Frank Welker (What’s New, Scooby-Doo?) as Fred/Scooby-Doo, Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Life) as Velma, Grey DeLisle (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) as Daphne and Matthew Lillard (the Scooby-Doo films) as Shaggy. Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) is the executive producer. Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone (both credited for Duck Dodgers, Back at the Barnyard, Space Jam) are the supervising producers.

'Chuck' renewal prospects 'looking good'

NBC is reportedly planning to renew Chuck.

The spy comedy, which stars Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski, was thought to be close to cancellation.

However, Entertainment Weekly says that sources have claimed that the show is a "safe bet" for renewal.

One insider close to the programme explained that the drama's chances of being saved by NBC are now "looking good".

The season three finale of Chuck is scheduled to air May 24.

God I hope this is true

It keeps flip flopping between good and awful (prospects wise). Wait and see I suppose, but I can't imagine we'll hear anything for a month.

Although NBC have renewed Parenthood already and may renew Heroes for a "final season" according to reports. Just fucking kill it already. Or give it a 2 hour "special event". All they'll do for 13 episodes is flip flop around anyway.

But Chuck returns tonight and I'm giving myself tomorrow off (nothing to do at work anyway) :D
