Some good things in there, especially from Sonic 1 and 2. Did you see the bubble one? Man those were the bane of my Sonic days... the amount of times he drowned on me. :woops:

Yeah I hated that zone as a kid but now I steam through it.

Pff... it's missing the real amazing moments from the mega-drive games. What about Hidden Palace zone's music in Sonic and Knuckles? What about the first time you got all the chaos emeralds in Sonic 2 and turned into Super Sonic? What about the special stages, bloody hell, what about Casino Night Zone?

Tell you what, I still struggle on the likes of Chemical Plant Zone when it comes to the watery bits. Its a mixture of just wishing Sonic could swim and then building panic, because I know its only a matter of time before the music will start... and then... death. My skillz haven't developed as well as yours have over the years, sensei.

You've just got that tune stuck in my head... I love Casino Night Zone, used to spend ages just jumping in the slot machine things for ages and forgetting to finish the level.

That was pretty cool, but they did indeed miss out quite a few awesome moments.

Hidden Palace zone for example was incredible; the whole story came together at that point and the battle between Sonic and Knuckles was just AWESOME! Then just after when Robotnik tries to kill knuckles and knuckles helps you get to Sky Santuary...<3

Also, I'm surprised the fight with metal sonic wasn't there...that was hot.

Yeah, they totally left out Super Sonic. And Hyper Sonic. And Metal Sonic. And the fight between Knuckles and Sonic.

How come all those moments end with the same word?

Some nice moments in there, sure there are loads more but they did well to narrow it down to the ones they liked the best, I miss the good old Sonic days :( I really hope Sonic Unleashed may be some sort of redemption for the series, we shall see...

Redemption?? Only Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 was bad. Heroes was very average. But the rest were good. The two Rush games were awesome (especially Adventure). They get more hate then they deserve.

Now that surprises me that these moments were not included in the Top 10, these were great moments in the Sonic series. And thanks, i now have the Casino Night theme glued in my head, must play this level when i go home.

Casino Night, Casino Night...

Am I the only one who preferred Chemical Plant, Hill Top and Mystic Cave?

Ruins Sonic 2 for me.

Hill Top is alrightish. Chemical Plant is good.

I like the Mystic Cave zone. All except that bit where you fell onto spikes and can't get out, and if you were Super Sonic at the time, you just had to stand there and wait for your rings to run out so you could die and try again.

Oh yeah, that pit was lame. It could be bottomless, but nooo it had to have those useless spikes.

Doesn't compare to that one time where my game had a glitch when I arrived at Scrap Brain. Sonic got stuck into a wall and couldn't move. I had to wait until the TIMER ended. Sucked big time.

Thought I'd pop this in here.

Anyone any thoughts on this as I've always felt it was just bull. But now? I'm not so sure...

Kikizo: Going a bit further back, I wonder if you can clear up some speculation that’s been around for years now, that Michael Jackson was involved in the music production for Sonic 3? There is some really quite convincing evidence on the internet. You must surely be the guy to say yes it’s true, or no it’s not?!

Naka: [laughs] It’s best that you ask Sega!

Kikizo: Well, er, it was your game, Naka-san… nobody at Sega would even know any more…

Naka: It’s a mystery [laughs]. This information is on a need-to-know basis! [laughs more] One day, when the time comes, I will give you the information!

* Bobby Brooks - engineer for Michael Jackson. Sequenced synthesizers and drums on Blood on the Dance Floor and mixed HIStory.

* Darryl Ross - vague, ill-defined resume credit: "Darryl Ross is an accomplished producer, musician, songwriter, arranger and vocalist. Artists he worked with are Michael Jackson...".

* Geoff Grace - arranger for Michael Jackson. Credited for arranging the music for Jackson's Dangerous tour.

* Brad Buxer - performed arranging, keyboards, sequencing and more for Blood on the Dance Floor and Invincible.

* Doug Grigsby - unknown credit on HIStory.

They did various thinks for Jacko.

It really does. I only heard about the MJ rumor the other day when reading this thread and then doing some nostalgia digging myself but it does make sense! Launch Base Zone has such a huge influence, I reckon. The "Hey! Hey! Hey!" and the bassline and the feel of it is just ridiculously MJ :heh:
