flameboy Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Anyone else get the email saying the site is closing down on 26th November? To put the finishing touches to the new site? Surely stars on there way?!
triforce_keeper Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Yeah got the e-mail too, about time they updated the bloody site.
Sheikah Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 At long last, they are deciding to update that awful website that has had the same template since the dawn of time.
Ike Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Please be a new layout, please be a new layout... And stars to Wii points. Then I can register all the points I've been hoarding for months. Oh, looks like they are officially calling it Club Nintendo now?
sim1987 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Yeah I got it too, I best still have my stars by the time they're done, I would not be impressed if I didn't, and like somebody else said, about time too. "Soon you can spend stars on wii points", ok that was said when? 6-8 months ago? If it isn't the stars to wii points thing, it will just b annoying.
ShadowV7 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Meh still 5 days away. I'll have more hopes by then. I think it's a safe bet that Star-Wii Points will go up. Best time to do it.
welsh_gamer Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Well it does say, "With all sorts of benefits to enjoy" so I am quite hopeful the Points system will be in place. Maybe we'll see the gift thing on the Wii shop channel this day too.
Hero-of-Time Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Please be a new layout, please be a new layout... And stars to Wii points. Then I can register all the points I've been hoarding for months. Oh, looks like they are officially calling it Club Nintendo now? Im the same. I have around 16,000 points in my account but since they announced that the Stars would expire at some point I kept all my codes in my bedroom until the points conversion comes into effect.
darksnowman Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 If they did get this sorted then it could make for a Christmas of merry downloading. I hope they give us some festive games to mark the ocassion.
RedShell Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 About bloody time they updated the site, here's hoping they don't just copy the US one though. Anyway, makes sense that the Stars to Wii points thing should happen at the same time, but to be honest I'd much prefer a decent club Nintendo like the Japanese one. With cool and unique gifts like custom Mii battery covers, game soundtracks and Wii compatible SNES controllers ect…

With cool and unique gifts like custom Mii battery covers, game soundtracks and Wii compatible SNES controllers ect… Oh yeah I love that too, real physical objects on the Stars Catalogue that aren't limited to 10 units meaning by the time you know they are there they are gone (except for the lucky 10 people who just happen to be looking at the bloody site at the time they go up) And of course Stars to Wii points, would be at long last welcome. I haven't spent a single star since the Gamecube was released (that would be May 3rd 2002, man it's been a long 5 years)
RedShell Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I haven't spent a single star since the Gamecube was released (that would be May 3rd 2002, man it's been a long 5 years)Man, you must have a shit load of stars! I’ve got about 10k or so, but I’ve bought quite a few things from the catalogue before, including crappy screensavers and stuff before we knew real life items would go on it. Come to think of it, there must be so many people with an insane amount of stars. I reckon Nintendo will put some goodies up at the same time as the stars to Wii points thing happens to try and reduce the amount of converted points.

I would assume Mario Galaxy, Prime 3 and maybe some other games would go up so people blow their points on them. If I can i'm gonna nab a game with the points I already have since there's a limited amount, then after enter star vouchers for Wii Points
Guest Stefkov Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 God would they hurry up. I've not registered Mario Galaxy yet. Won't do until they make this hurry up with the stars
ShadowV7 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 You haven't registered Galaxy? I still haven't registered games since the middle of the GC era... I have a bunch just waiting to be used.
Nintenchris Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Ive registerd 82 products and have earned 32,620 stars ive spent some in the past but not many
James McGeachie Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I'm just waiting for them to give some bullshit like there was "no way" for them to transfer stars over or that they were "lost" by accident in transition. I haven't registered a single game I've bought since around when they first mentioned that stars will expire because if I'm gonna end up losing 11,000 as it is because they don't get this system up before June, I'm not losing anymore.
Owen Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I must be getting confused. The site is shutting down FROM November 26th and we re-open again at a much later date? right? The N-Europe news story says it re-opens on 26/11 but that is incorrect in my opinion...well the way i read it anyway.
david.dakota Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 reading their news site, it looks as if there will be a delay on bringing online the new site.
Hellfire Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Our kind Nintendo ditributor here in Portugal likes to steal the points from our games... so I didn't register Galaxy
Kurtle Squad Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Oh, looks like they are officially calling it Club Nintendo now? They have been for AGES. Im the same. I have around 16,000 points in my account but since they announced that the Stars would expire at some point I kept all my codes in my bedroom until the points conversion comes into effect. Ditto
Sheikah Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I've got about 7k now since I spent 3 and a half on a nintendogs t shirt for my girlfriend... and she hardly ever wore it. :p
